New Track (Floorless?) at B and M Factory

Recommended Posts

Seems that its a station element. So its a little to early to tell what kind of B&M this could be. Does anyone know what X-Works is? I feel like I saw something like this before. It related to like Cedar Fair or something.

X-Works doesn't mean anything. Its just what B&M puts on the labels these days instead of the client name.

One of the pics has a label stating it is a station element.

EDIT: Also the "SC" in the part number is for their sitting coasters (including floorless, which do not have their own designation in the part number). So it is either a sitting coaster or a floorless.

All we can do now is speculate where the B&M floorless coaster is going. But i really hope it goes to KI. Just a Speculation but since Kings Island and Kings Dominion are twin parks and KD already has a floorless coaster why dont they twin it up with one at KI

#1. We don't know if its a floorless.

#2. Kings Dominion got Dominator from another park, they didn't manufacture it.

#3. How do we know its going to a Cedar Fair park.

Think before ya speculate ladies and gents.

In business, ex-works (sometimes shortened to x-works) is a purchasing approach used where the seller has been contracted to build an item (in this case track) and has the responsibility to ensure it is ready to leave from their shop (in this case Batavia), but the buyer has the responsibility for the shipping (planning, logistics, and cost). The alternate approach would be to purchase something delivered.

Why you'd do one over the other can be for many reasons including international customs duties, shipment planning, or preference.

Nice ultrasound of another baby coaster! Probably it's on its way to yet another (yawn) "record-breaking" coaster in some park somewhere, where it will soon be overtaken by (yawn) some newer, taller, faster, loopier, flashier coaster in like, Dubai, or China or some other place. Woo hoo.

"X-Works" has been on labels for the last few years because enthusiasts were finding out where coasters were going before they were announced by heading out to the Batavia Steel plant and checking out all the track. This is just a proactive effort by the plant and B&M to prevent people finding out about rides before the park has a chance to announce them (or at least before they show up on site)...

This is also not headed to CP. The "Job No" listed on this track is different than the job number listed on the crates (labeled "rollercoaster bolts" or something along those lines) that have already been spotted at CP.

If it were going to Italy, would it have an Italian Job number?

sorry - just had to!

Any updates on this track? I wonder if any new pictures? Still clueless where this is going. Even with the demise of SOB, I highly doubt this is going to KI.

I agree with you. There is about a 0.1% chance this is going to KI. There isn't enough time to take down SoB and put a coaster in.

We would also see teaser signs like DB had a while back.

Or we could get an Intamin Giga!

I doubt Cedar Fair would want to create 2 parks with the exact same rides for the purpose of making them twins. That wouldn't draw customers.

More so referring to the big, attention drawing rollercoasters. Cedar Fair wouldn't put in a floorless for the sole purpose of Kings Island having the same rides as Kings Dominion. They would put it in because it is exciting and something to make the park a must visit. Like the B&M hypers that many of the parks got, they weren't put in because of the fact that they are the same type of ride, they were put in to draw crowds and get the public's attendance.
