So SOB is finnally down (along with some other Paramount era fun), making speculation about the pieces being sold/auctioned off to people. So what would you like to see in a KI sale/auction? I would like to see SOB parts, BB theming, and a bit of old decor (HB items, Top Gun, etc).

I expect the remains of the ride to be sold to a third party outfit for them to salvage in anyway they can. Be it reuse the lumber that can, or at the least, turn it into pulp at a pulp mill. The metal will be sold as scrape at the current rate. Depending on the legal aspects, they can offer portions of the lumber to the roller coaster fans that want it, at a price of course. But watch out for the guy attempting to sale pieces of wood from his deck and claiming it is from SOB. Look at the fools that bought buy what they think is pieces of the cross that Jesus died on. Just watch out for fakes. Now I have a bridge to sale cheap, any takers?

I'd like that huge Nickelodeon sign that was in Nickelodeon Central :) I saw in the junkyard near the waterpark one year, but I don't know if it's still there...

Even if its just a cube of wood, I would like to purchase a peice of Son of Beast. Another thing that I would like to buy is the Son of Beast entrance crate, Or at least the sign with the name that was inside it. I would Love to have that crate more than anything else at Kings Island. B)

I'd love to have one of the original fiberglass logo reliefs from one of The Beast trains. I was lucky to have scored the original terra cotta sculpting of The Beastie logo back in the year.

When stadiums are imploded, the third party salvage firms had titled to all the items and they set the price. Look at the price people paid for a set of chairs from Yankee Stadium when it was torn down. Are you prepared to pay the price for anything of value? Will the demolition company that will tear down SOB have title to all of the salvaged items? You can bet they will salvage all that they can from the former ride. All the wood will either be reused in some fashion or sent to a pulp mill and all the metal sold for its scrape value. Look at the demand for copper that thieves are willing to risk to steal even if it means going to jail.

I'd love to have one of the big statues that were around in Hanna-Barbera Land and Nick Central. I'd love to have that huge Reptar from the Runaway Reptar Coaster or the giant Sponge Bob from the Bikini Bottom area. Also, I'd love to have any of the Hanna-Barbera statues like Scooby-Doo or even the bench with the Smurf statues on it. Remember that?

Well obviously Scooby-Doo would be my first choice! However, if I couldn't get him I'd take the Smurf bench lol. How cool would that be to put in your backyard? Well really any of those statues would be cool to put in your backyard!

As an ex-FedEx call rep, I have a neon sign that used to hang at a FedEx station in the lobby. I remember the stadium seats from Riverfront Stadium and anything else of value was sold by the salvage company. I would think that The Beast sign at the entrance would go for thousands of nickels if it was to be offered for sale.

That sign also. Just bring your sacks filled with nickels! I am surprised someone wonders about the old KI sign that blew down and wonder if it is laying in some junk heap for sale?

It makes me wonder if the makers of Scooby Doo were trying to create new catch phrases, or if hippies and wall flowers of the early 1970s really did run around saying "Zoinks" and "Gynkies!" It'd be rad and groovy to know for sure, tote.
