Jasper Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 I was at the park today and was waiting in line for Delirium and noticed that the ride cycle seemed short, and then when I boarded the ride it indeed did seem like it only took one full swing in each direction and then started to stop. Has anyone else been noticing the shorter ride cycle? Quote
homestar92 Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 I didn't even notice it reaching full swing. Seemed to me that today it was only swinging from 3-9 o'clock. Isn't its swing supposed to be 2-10? Quote
Sonofbeast2.0 Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 I swear when CF came into KI's life it felt like they really made it shorter. Was it busy yesterday? 1 Quote
stashua123 Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 it has seemed shorter since it reopened last monthgt Quote
TheCrypt Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 Delirium has always made 2 full swings before coming to a stop. maXair has something like 7. It's nothing different. Quote
spitfire Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 I was there on Tuesday and rode it, and it did seem like a shorter cycle, but I don't know if it actually was. Quote
Titan Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 It feels like a shorter cycle to me also. I don't know if it was because I hadn't ridden it since last year or what.... Quote
TheCrypt Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 Rode Delirium yesterday. Cycle felt the same to me. 1 Quote
PKIVortex Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 Delirium hasn't ran the same since the first major break down of it's life. I wonder if Delirium will be the next Huss ride removed from the park? Quote
Snowman Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Rode today and noticed behind the wood fence just north of the station there were 2 huge sprockets/gears on a pallet. The ride cycle did seem did seem shorter. 1 Quote
Dieseltech20 Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Watching ride now.......it went back and forth 10 times from start to finish. Two of those were from 3 to 9. Judging by the smiles and screams of joy, if it is shorter.......no one cares. Quote
Original Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 On Augest 4th (kic day) We got in line for Fast Lane for delerium... Before we got our numbers, someone throughed up. So they cleaned it and ran it thru again. Then the group ahead of us got on and of coarse... someone thru up AGAIN. So they had to run it clean AGAIN and overall took us 30 min to get on XD! Quote
Tanna Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 The numbers get messed up if the counter doesn't speak clearly enough. Is this throwing up business new to Delirium? When we were on it, the ride only went parallel to the ground, not any higher than ninety degrees. I wonder if the change in cycle might be contributing to the Viking Fury effect. Quote

You would be surprised at the number of people that eat at Skyline and then decide to ride rides like that. All it does is churns it up and you expel your lunch. I hated to work as a litter getter those areas in front of The Racer and other rides that turns you every which way. It all has to be sanitized before the ride can operate. Thank God for Voban. Quote

AZ Kinda Guy Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Delirium hasn't ran the same since the first major break down of it's life. I wonder if Delirium will be the next Huss ride removed from the park? Delirium has "ran the same" since it's opened. 1 Quote
standbyme Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Delirium has "ran the same" since it's opened. But if it were toned down, would the "higher ups" tell the "regular" employees?! (Just playing devils-advocate....I do trust that you know what you are talking about.) Quote
Snowman Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Rode again today and paid close attention to the height while waiting in line. The top of the swing arc is clearly not as high as before the repair. The arc used to be a 10 to 2 o'clock swing, now it's barely a 9 to 3 o'clock swing. Snow woman noticed the obvious change to. It's amazing how much the difference has tamed the intensity of the ride down. The sprockets were gone today. 1 Quote
zombiejane Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 My boyfriend and I have been on Delirium 3 times since it's been fixed and it doesn't feel the same. The disc seems to be rotating slower and it isn't reaching the same height as before. It also seems to climbs slower than before. Quote
Snowman Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 ^Well put, the disc did seem slower. Welcome to KIC! Quote
PKIVortex Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 Can someone tell me why MaXair runs totally different then, when it's the same exact model of ride? Also MaXair seems to swing much higher, and swing at highest swing more times. 1 Quote
homestar92 Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 I'm sure there's some degree of ride cycle configuration that the park can set upon buying such a ride. In fact, since Tomb Raider/The Crypt ran 4 different cycles in its life (I think that's correct anyway) then I'd say it's a sure bet. Quote

And each of those times, the ride had to be reprogrammed (and I imagine some of the lights and effects). There wasn't a button that said "2 Flip Cycle", another that said "9 Flip Cycle" and so on and so forth. Quote
beastrider97 Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 I wouldn't be surprised if it was toned down due to the recent breakdown. It may possibly be so whatever was replaced lasts a longer time. Maybe maXair is a superior model due to it being built 2nd and HUSS learning from Delirium. It does seem to have a longer cycle, a smoother ride, and more swings at full height. Quote
PKIVortex Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 MaXair has also the motor problems as well though. MaXair didn't open with the park in 2011 as they were awaiting a part. The ride was still shrinkwrapped on opening day 2011. Quote
