December 3, 201213 yr Anyone have any update/ fix yet? Being stuck in "mobile version" on a desktop is like wet underwear- it can be dealt with, but everytime you move, you can't forget it is present. Did you try the complex workaround I posted in reply #20? Doing this got me out of mobile mode, after I stuck myself in it while testing.
December 5, 201213 yr Quick update for internet explorer users. I have went to Google Chrome (Sad to say, what a day) and I can post photos, again, I believe if one may get the internet explorer updated one may post photos, I have yet to try this method but I am glad to say I think my laptop was the only problem. Except for the mobile, which still is having issues. Chrome or Firefox are almost always better options for browsing than Internet Explorer. I work in IT at my University and IE 6, 7, 8, and 9 are my worst enemies.

I posted instructions for all major browsers, including mobile, in reply #13. Switching to another browser would have the same effect, but you don't need to. (I have plenty of dislike for IE too. I'd prefer that everyone use Firefox, but all major browsers are pretty good with web standards nowadays. It comes down to privacy, performance, and choice of features/add-ons.) You might want to PM Dane. It would be much appreciated. I sent him a PM the other day with the information I found about the mobile site problem, but it looks like he hasn't got it yet. Until it's fixed, you can do the workaround as long as your browser supports viewing the page's HTML source.
December 17, 201213 yr Still stuck in mobile here.... When I do a quote it seems I do not see the person I am quoting until I have made the post. Anyone else seeing that? Not a big deal, but if I am quoting multiple people it might be a little confusing.
December 18, 201213 yr Still stuck in mobile here.... When I do a quote it seems I do not see the person I am quoting until I have made the post. Anyone else seeing that? Not a big deal, but if I am quoting multiple people it might be a little confusing. Yep. That's because the top line of the quote box that identifies who is being quoted is now added by JavaScript after the page begins loading rather than being present in the HTML page source from the beginning, and that JavaScript only runs once during page loading, thus it doesn't work when the edit box is modified.

Ah ok, that makes sense! Thanks Jonathan!
December 31, 201213 yr Author Well, that's one of us. I'm still stuck in mobile, in more ways than one.
December 31, 201213 yr I get the feeling you're talking about Sweet Home Alabama? (Oh, sorry, wrong thread )
December 31, 201213 yr Author Uh, no. And no, I don't have Georgia on My Mind... But being stuck on mobile is mildly irritating, if not driving me crazy. [some say I was already there.] For now, I'm On The Road Again...
December 31, 201213 yr What I did was I just pressed the button, which my screen popped up with "open in a new window" or "open" I went with the "open in a new window" try that and you may have success.
December 31, 201213 yr ^^( I thought it was a pun... stuck in Mobile, Alabama...) Ah, yes. That has got to be frustrating, like doing everything imaginable to get the picture uploader to work short of eating 105 black licorice jelly beans through a straw... wait, let me try that... brb
December 31, 201213 yr Well, that's one of us. I'm still stuck in mobile, in more ways than one. Stuck Inside of Mobile With the Memphis Blues Again?
January 22, 201313 yr Added a new skin for people asking for something other than the default. The old skin is also available to change back to if you prefer under "Change Theme" in the bottom left hand corner. Also is anyone else still having the issue The Interpreter had?
January 22, 201313 yr I see others have been successful at embedding a youtube video since the theme change, but I was have not. Before I would just copy the address bar url and paste it in the forum and it showed up. Not having such luck now. Below is a link I was trying to use in another thread. What am I doing wrong?
January 22, 201313 yr Well now a new problem has occurred, I was trying to change over to the new theme and accidentally clicked on the mobile theme and now I am unable to change it back. There is no option to change the theme. The 'full version' button at the page does nothing.Edit: Thanks Malem! I have the full version back now. Edited January 22, 201313 yr by Captain Nemo

Same issue, but I think that's what was happening before. I was able to get out using Malem's method.
January 22, 201313 yr Clicking on calendar in upper right hand corner seem to display code at the top of the page and that is about it.

Before I would just copy the address bar url and paste it in the forum and it showed up. Not having such luck now. Below is a link I was trying to use in another thread. What am I doing wrong? Insert the url with a protocol of http instead of https (secure HTTP). Since YouTube now uses https by default when you log in, the forum software should be updated to recognize these URLs. Until then, just change https:// to http://

Until then, just change https:// to http:// I was able to get it to work by changing to the HTTP as you suggested, and then on the video itself right click and select "Copy Video URL" and paste that into the forum. Thanks for leading me down the right path, malem!
January 23, 201313 yr The updated site is giving me a problem, When I get on KIC on here on my PC, It is on mobile mode and wont let me see the regular KIC forums site.
January 23, 201313 yr ^ You should be able to change to one of the two desktop themes using a button at the bottom of the main (mobile) forum index. If that's still broken, you can use the workaround I posted earlier in this thread, in post #20.
