Michigan's Adventure will be adding a flying scooter attraction to it's selection of family rides. We hope that everyone will enjoy soaring through the air at the park this summer. That's two Cedar Fair parks now (Knott's and MA) that are getting flying scooters next year. Here's hoping KI's not too far behind.
thekidd33
Nice to see the dry side of the park get a little attention. Can't wait to try these out this summer!
Gordon Bombay
This is awesome news, but let's just hope they're good ones.Anyone ride the scooters at Strcker's Grove lately? Yikes...
The Interpreter
The set KI had was the best in the country. Now, IB's, Camden's, sigh.
TombRaiderFTW
I'm assuming they're Larson scooters. (Even though that appears to be Carowinds in the picture, which means the photo actually is of our old Flying Eagles.) Yeah, Larson's scooters aren't in the same league as the Bisch-Rocco ones KI once had, but they're still fun rides. I can't really guess a reason from a business perspective why KI would ever get their set back from Carowinds, so I'm okay with Larson if that's what we would get. westcoaster
Lets hope KI gets one! And call them the flying eagles:
CoasterGeek101
My reaction when I saw Michigan's Adventure was 'What the heck?" I am very surprised to see them getting something new, but glad as well. It looks perfect for the park.
kblanken
Yay! Combined with the great wooden coaster, an old Arrow, and a few other things (plus a big waterpark), this looks like it will be a great escape. Next time I feel the desire to travel to approximately 43.35 degrees north latitude, I can have big fun.
PhantomTheater
I am proposing a trade for either KI or CP. WindSeeker to MiAd for the Flying Scooters.
TombRaiderFTW
Combined with the great wooden coaster, There's a great wooden coaster at Michigan's Adventure? (I had to say it... )
kblanken
Yes, but the name escapes me right now. in a minute, it'll Come to me.
TombRaiderFTW
^ I've been there and remember the names, and I can't think of the name of a great wooden coaster at Michigan's Adventure, either...
The Interpreter
Wolverine Wildcat. When it is properly maintained. Relative of the world famous Phoenix. Terp. Yes, he's serious.
kblanken
Arrrrrr. I must have caught Wolverine Wildcat at a non-properly maintained time.
The Interpreter
Back in the day, it was incredible. Lately, it's been incredibly not.
TombRaiderFTW
I'm with kblanken. WW wasn't bad; it just wasn't anything noteworthy. The drop off the double-down was really the only thing memorable, and that's just because I don't think I've ever heard PTC trains make that sound before. jdawg1998
How can Kings Island not be getting this next year? No new major attractions announced, the Kings Island Central fans have been begging for a return of the Flying Eagles, and this would be a simple addition. Please, KI! Please!
TheBEASTunchained
It seems to be very rare that Michigan's Adventure gets very much attention so its great to hear that they get a new attraction. Can't wait until Kings Island announces a new attraction in the coming years.....

Next time we hear that Mr. Ouimet will visit Kings Island, we should get a group to gather between Jukebox Diner + the ball toss and start shouting out things like 'Great flying number 3!' and 'yeah number 7!', while a few of us run in circles periodically jumping.

malem
How can Kings Island not be getting this next year? No new major attractions announced, the Kings Island Central fans have been begging for a return of the Flying Eagles, and this would be a simple addition. Please, KI! Please! Not to mention that there's a newly vacated pad of concrete at KI that it would probably fit on. Staggered announcements and bulk purchases of dinosaurs and WindSeekers as of late make more installations seem plausible. It would certainly be warmly welcomed by KICentral. Not that that matters.
TombRaiderFTW
^ I'm blanking right now... What newly vacated pad of concrete?
TheCrypt
I'm thinking the "pad of concrete" malem refers to is what is currently the Dinosaur Alive! Party Pavilion. I thought the location would be cool, but not nearly as nice as the shrouded enclave our flying scooters used to reside.
The Interpreter
Which one? Flying Scooters were not always where the Three Point Challenge now rakes in the moola.
TheCrypt
I should have seen that coming... I mean the location where 3 Point Challenge currently sits. If I am not mistaken, our present-day Dodgems sits where Flying Scooters once stood.

I thought the location would be cool, but not nearly as nice as the shrouded enclave our flying scooters used to reside. For what it's worth, the pad I was referring to is the track of Thunder Alley, which is now vacant. Granted, it's not the right shape and the center is unpaved, so at least some modification would be needed.
kblanken
The painted concrete around the water tower looks like it might be the right dimensions. They could build the structure around the water tower, and make it part of a theme. Did Snoopy ever pretend to put out fires while flying his house? I heard nothing about it until today when I saw them comment on someone's Facebook post about it.
The Interpreter
Yes. It was posted here on KIC. Apparently Don answered a question about it on FaceBook.
