The Interpreter Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 Race For Your Life Charlie Brown. That flume has a whole lot of potential, and for just a few million it could be a great experience They could start by restoring it to its 1972/Coney Island splendor. Terp, who NEVER liked what Paramount did to the flumes (esp. KC:KC). 5 Quote
coasterfanatic83 Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 They could do that... I was thinking more along the lines of a total overhaul, with a more modern and high-tech feel that still fit into the Rivertown concept. (fountains, waterfalls, pretty much a not boring Shoot the Rapids (not the original) at CP) Quote
The Interpreter Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 I, for one, am thoroughly sick of classic flumes being 'upgraded' to drench the guests, be it by coconuts, elephants, beagles, geysers or fire hydrants. And I find Shoot the Rapids to be Cedar Point's most blunderbus addition since, perhaps, Mean Streak. 7 Quote
coasterfanatic83 Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 I'm not saying an entire drenching; I don't think that is what flumes are for. If you want to get soaked, go to Soak City. But a high-tech upgrade that is both fun to ride and look at would be fun, in my opinion. Or you could restore it to the original glory that many of us (including me) on these forums never got to experience. Either way, the ride has a lot of potential, and it seems rather bland as it stands today. 1 Quote
PhantomTheater Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 CP's downward trend with there flumes. Started great with Mill Race and Shoot the Rapids, but each one after has been worse then the one before it. 1 Quote
xXDrummerKiDXx Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 Maybe re-do FoF's inside queue for the sake of yearly visiters who has seen that video 946,726 times (That's Under exagerated ) Sorry for any bad spelling mistakes, I'm in driving school right now and I got bored listening , yes it's important but I mean, come on, this is ALL common sense. 2 Quote
The Interpreter Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 Good thing I'm not the judge. You'd get to go again. Oh, you mean driver's ed, not the other kind.... Quote
xXDrummerKiDXx Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 Well then! Haha , yes Driver's Ed Terp! Quote
malem Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 Paying attention in Driver's Ed can prevent the other kind. 4 Quote
Diamondbacker Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 I'd re-theme drop zone . Instead of the song it normally plays (I don't know the name of it) with something else (i'm not sure though) . No, that's a great song!! It gets me so hyped for DT. My change would be for Flight Deck to receive a paintjob similar to The Bat's and rename the ride "Revenge of The Bat." 1 Quote

I don't think the music on Drop Tower should be changed, It has grown onto the ride in my opinion and it adds to the ride expirience. 1 Quote
flightoffear1996 Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 I would retheme Soak City,. The current theme is just bland. They could do some awesome things with the water park. I would actually like to see them operate as two parks but I doubt that will ever happen. Quote
The Interpreter Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 Hmmmm. They could call it WaterWorks! 2 Quote
BB1 Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 It brings me joy to hear people on the same page as I am on some topics! Terp, that is a greater idea than what we have! 3 Quote
SonofBaconator Posted January 18, 2013 Author Posted January 18, 2013 I don't really mind Soak City. It serves its purpose as a water park with plenty of water activities, plus some. So what, if they got rid of some Koalas? Quote

Captain Nemo Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 I would first fix the theming in the park that is already there, just not working. FoF is a big one. 2 Quote

FoF is a big one.Could you point out what can easily be fixed on FoF? Last season, and the year before, have been great improvements already to the existing theming, but I can't think of anything else in FoF that can be (relatively) easy to bring back.In my opinion, Adventure Express and Flight Deck need some thematic TLC. Mr. Christopher Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 ^ Off the top of my head, you could easily improve lighting, sound and set dressings pretty easily and it would make a noticeable difference. The same applies to Adventure Express. 4 Quote

So what, if they got rid of some Koalas? Well sir, you have yet to see the full implications of the cuteness factor on the koalas. I just think that the Boomerang Bay had 100% better theme, it was even in need of new repairs but still had better theme in my book. It does serve its purpose, but I think that many can agree (me, family, and others who have posted) that it may actually just need more theming, or just back to what it was for a great while, one could say WaterWorks had better theming! On a more serious note, if WaterWorks were to return instead of Soak City, I wonder if the popularity or the publicity would of changed. BB1 who knows a koala who is still shocked about the removal. 1 Quote
TheCrypt Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 I'm glad Boomerang Bay is gone. It was old, crusty, and needed a renovation. 2 Quote

Oldiesmann Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 Not really a ride, but since others are talking about overhauling specific areas of the park... I would retheme Festhaus to play off Cincinnati's rich German heritage - German food, German beer, a restored clock and shows that reflect the general theme of the building and the original "Oktoberfest" area. 4 Quote

Something that was lost in Cincinnati during the last world war, but lives on in some of the architecture on a few of the buildings still standing. If and when it happens, I think they can do major renovations to it. Quote
rhit2004 Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 I'd re-theme Boo Blasters to something that looked like an old, rundown theater. Then on the inside I'd add characters that looked like ghosts of the old performers. I'd have one of them playing an old organ in the ride queue, and throughout the ride I'd have all the ghost performers doing their act. I think that would be a great ride! I would go one step further and and add little blue creatures that live in mushroom houses. It might also be fun to use boats instead of the current propulsion system. 3 Quote
