BlackLabelRules Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 From what I can see, the weather for opening day will not be very good. I saw a high of 60 and a chance of rain. Has anyone else seen anything better? Quote
Voicetek Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 As long as it's not pouring down rain, I'll be there. We're still 11 days out so I wouldn't put too much faith in what the weather report says now. We all know how that can change from day to day. 60 degrees would be great though! 5 Quote
BlackLabelRules Posted April 16, 2013 Author Posted April 16, 2013 I'm planning on being there too. I'm just hoping that the forecast will change before then. Quote
coasterfanatic83 Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 Last year it poured until about 1, and then it was fine after that. Even if the weather isn't ideal, I will do everything in my power to be there! A trip to the park is long overdue, even if it is a Boo Blasters marathon! 4 Quote
faeriewench Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 It's Ohio...you want the weather to change, wait 45 minutes. 12 Quote
malem Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 ^^ Have you seen the line for Boo Blasters on a rainy day? I don't think you'd be marathoning it without Fast Lane. Certainty in forecasts more than 7 days out is usually very low. Companies like AccuWeather aren't doing anyone (except their advertisers) a favor by "predicting" day-by-day highs and times of precipitation weeks in advance. 4 Quote
Browntggrr Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 ^ 7 days? I was thinking more along the lines of 2. 1 Quote
NoChickens Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 we've decided, barring an all day non stop rain, we're going ;-) Quote
PKIVortex Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 Accu Weather is saying 60 Mostly Cloudy with a shower, but we all know this report will change in the coming days! Quote
IndyGuy4KI Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 As many KIC'ers that will be there. We will have a good time regardless! 6 Quote
lebeau Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 Last year we got there early and it was okay. A bit cold. It started raining after a couple of hours, but we were ready to go by then. Apparently it cleared up in the afternoon. Quote
KI-ORIG-EMP Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 It is far to early to predict what the weather will be like on April 27th, opening day for Kings Island. All you do is project based on what it has done in the past. 1 Quote
IndyGuy4KI Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 Last year was crappy, I am hoping for a nice day this season! Quote
XGatorHead 8904 Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 All I know is I'll be at opening day, rain or shine. Can't say that the Gatorettes would join me there in the rain, but I'll be there. 3 Quote
rotag Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 plus if all else fails. come check out the ALL NEW Red's Hall Of Fame Grille. check out some of the shows. do some of the indoor rides. or even ride the water rides (if there even open) for an all around splashing experience. 4 Quote
BB1 Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 Well, in any way shay perform, I will wear what a usual BB1 wears and go to the park......hopefully. BB1 doesn't trust the weather forecasters. Quote
TTD-120-420 Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 I think that weather sounds great. I love when it rains. Keeps the crowds away. Even if it rains all day I'll get my Dodgem fix. 2 Quote
SupremoSteveo Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 Whatever the weather may be, it's going to be a great time. Honestly, I welcome a mid 60 degree and cloudy day. 2 Quote
jdawg1998 Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 Don't trust the weather 10 days in advance. I start trusting it within 5 days. Even then weather is just too unpredictable. Quote
malem Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 Those wanting an early indication of the weather should read NWS long-range forecasts. *Text: http://www.cpc.ncep.noaa.gov/products/predictions/610day/fxus06.html *Maps: http://www.cpc.ncep.noaa.gov/products/predictions/610day/ and http://www.cpc.ncep.noaa.gov/products/predictions/814day/ Cool and dry seems to be most probable, which would be good for the Komen 5K. Wet, pink cornstarch couldn't be a good thing. Quote
ohiocolts Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 Based on what I've recently seen, about a 30-50% chance of rain, with highs in the upper 60's and lows around 50. Quote
VortexBFForever Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 Just checked the Saturday forecast via weather.com's 10 day forecast (tomorrow I'll start checking the 5-day forecast) http://www.weather.com/weather/tenday/Mason+OH+USOH0566:1:US http://www.weather.com/weather/wxdetail6/USOH0566 Sat Apr 27 High 67° Low 52° Cloudy Chance of rain: 10% Wind: SSW at 14 mph Quote
jcgoble3 Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 Perfect weather. Not quite for me. I'd rather have occasional showers and a threat of thunderstorms to keep more of the general public away and shorten up the lines somewhat. I would prefer it to be a few degrees warmer too. 4 Quote
markr Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 Looks like it is going to be a beautiful day. 2 Quote
TTD-120-420 Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 SatApr 27 70° 51° Partly Cloudy Chance of rain: 10% Wind: SE at 7 mph It is going to be a beautiful and crowded day. 2 Quote
