4Th Of July

I have been on the Fourth of July to Kings Island on several occasions. It is an EXTREMELY crowded day. While the crowds are lighter in the morning, it is still a lot of people. Do you get many other chances to visit? Do you want to ride a lot? If you answered no to the first and yes to the second, I recommend Fast Lane.

No offense, but did you expect the 4th of July at an amusement park to be not crowded? It will be insanely crowded.

I know you said no offense but maybe they just didn't know. I have never been on Father's Day and I assumed that it wouldn't be crowded because people would be taking dad to dinner or movie. Yet a couple of my friends went this year and said it was probably the most packed day they have ever seen at KI. On par with the final 2-3 HH Saturday nights.

But it's the fourth of July. Independence Day. A major holiday. In the middle of the summer.

The Bring a Friend deal was also usually only for one 9.99 ticket per pass , this year a pass holder could have brought up to 4 friends with the special 9.99 price per ticket. I'm sure that's one of the reason's the park was so packed on fathers day!

I assume its going to be crowded, just double checking with ppl who may have been there on the 4th. With cookouts, summer heat and other places to watch fireworks.Maybe nobody would go with the same thinking that it would be bad crowded. I have no idea if it really does get crowded, just wanted you guys input on it. Thanks for the info

The thing to remember about Fathers Day, each pass holder could bring up to 4 people at $9.99 each. Say a family had 4 members with passes, they could bring in a total of 16 additional friends. That is why that day was packed. As for the Fourth of July, expect to have large crowds.

Ah thanks for that, I didn't know that they were running that promo either. Again I typically avoid summer days and holidays but again I would've thought it wouldnt be as packed because people wanted to do their own fireworks or have a family dinner out of town or something not related to a theme park.

Sorry for being a dummy... You are right. I should've known better...

I went on the Fourth last year and was very happy I bought Fastlane! We could just ride whenever without waiting much in the heat of the day, and then around 7pm the dry park was packed so it was so much fun with that special bracelet. :P I really hope to make it this year but I'm pretty sure I will have to work, but my fingers are crossed!

Haven't they done a "free admission for military families" that weekend? Considering Wright Patt is up the road, as well as many other military bases (small and large) in the area, I'd expect all weekend to be packed if they do that deal again.

nevermind, here's the details, just the military personal get in free (active or retired) July 3-5:

Seems like they forgot to update one portion from memorial day however.

So like this coming Monday, what do people think the crowds will be like?

I'd guess that it would be no more than a typical Monday. KI is a two-day park at most, so it's highly unlikely people will take the whole week off to spend it at KI. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday will be the busiest days, with Wednesday significantly busier than a normal Wednesday due to the military deal. Monday and Tuesday are unlikely to be significantly affected. Or at least that's my guess.

the one caveat to that, is that most people have the 4th of July off, many will get the 5th off as well, on top of that, a good chunk will take monday, tuesday & wednesday off, along w/ their holiday days and make a week of it. I'd expect monday to be more crowded than a typical monday, but nothing like wednesday, thursday or friday will be.

All members of the military, both active and retired, members of the national guard, all veterans w/ honorable or medical discharge, members of the ROTC will be admitted free. They just need to show a valid ID or their DD-214 discharge form. My entire family has served, my father served in the Army in England during WWII, my sister served in the Army, where she met her husband as he was coming home from Vietnam. I served in the Army in 1974. This is a great way to honor all who have served our great country that we live in. But don't forget all the heroes that have given their all for our freedom. A big SALUTE to them all!
