Best smelling/sounding ride

Featured Replies

What's the best smelling ride and the best sounding ride? I think Drop Tower or Backlot for sound and racer for smell.

Firehawk's lift is probably my favorite sound. It was, after all, the last thing I ever heard before it cost me 99% of my hearing...

Since thoe124 said Kings Island, the best sound for me would be Vortex. The classic Arrow chain left sound is the best. The best smell... Hmm. Probably a tie between Racer and Adventure Express. Race

That was my thought...I dont generally smell the rides. but maybe thats just me

I'll bite.

Best sounding ride: Kumba

Best smelling ride: Voyage. The tunnels during the fall and spring have a weird smell to them. But every time I smell it, I love it. (Don't judge me )

I understand the sound part of this, but I really don't smell anything different on different rides, besides dark rides (they always have a weird smell).

Best sounding - Flight of Fear. The launch is just so cool.

The Racers smell is hot grease on sun baked wood! (Awesome!)

I love the smell of the grease used on the wooden coasters...and love the sound of the anti rollbacks on The Beast and racer

Arrow lift hills sound the best, especially if you are on the lift and the train is going up next to you. Best smell...eh I think blue streak this year..smelling those greased uostop wheels as they spin freely at the brake run...yum

Flight of Fear for smell except in the exit were there is usually puke just waiting to be stepped in. Best sounding is Diamondback.

Sound: Either the deep VROOM of Dragster's launch, or any older B&M's roar, like Raptor.

As for smell, I've never actually paid any attention to this before.

I can picture it now, my next visit to an amusement park I'll be sticking my nose to every seat, restraint, and train. ;)

I shudder with the thought of what my nose could be touching if I did that.

I only know the worst smelling ride- Zephyr. The best sounding ride is any without some young punk screaming in my ear like a little girl to be 'funny'.

Worst smelling I think is Eiffel Tower when going up for the fireworks at the end of the day. Armpits, and dirty diapers.....

Wooden coasters haven't used grease to lube the track in most parks for many years. That's graphite. Camden Park still uses grease.

Best smell and sound, hands down The Beast. The smell of the wood of the track and the trees. That chain lift hill sound and the music plus warning "please keep hans ect inside at all time, then the last sounds of the chain before you drop...awesome.

It's so poetic, and has been stuck in my head multiple times. People give me strange looks when I say it going up the lift hills at the park by me.

Is blue streak the same way? It doesn't smell like pencils...it smells like motor oil nice and warm from the sun

Yes, it is. The chain may have oil on it.

Best sounding ride.....The Haunted Mansion of course

Best smelling ride....Soaring over California....(orange grove scent)

Best sound....Vortex.

Best smell...First Tunnel of Adventure Express on a hot Summer day.

The best smell... Hmm. Probably a tie between Racer and Adventure Express. Racer's got the classic wood coaster smell, but Adventure Express's tunnel smells (especially at the first lift) is super nostalgic for me. I used to be terrified of AE when I was a kid, so the smell used to fill me with dread. Now, it's a sign that I'm about to experience one of my favorite rides, and the smell brings back a ton of memories. Good times!

Best smelling ride outside KI is E.T at Universal! I don't know what it is but i absolutely love it. Stellar.

Every dark ride smells good. I don't know why, it just does.

Son of Beast lift was my favorite sound.

Did you not like your hearing? JK. That hill was so loud!

Favorite sound: Tie. The very top of Vortex when the lift hill roll backs click over to the mini drop before the turn / The Beast lift hill. I just love the sound of click click click click.

Favorite smell: AE or possibly the train?

I could have sworn this title said something else at first glance lol.

Favorite Sound: The Racer and Beast's chain

Favorite Smell: The musty smell of AE's tunnels
