Banshee Construction Progress

You mean Instasuck?

I mean that literally. You can apply any "filter" you want to your photo, and it will instantly suck.

Now Jonathan, I resent that. Surely you can't say that my most recent Instagram picture sucks! I think it captures the spirit of everything Instagram is about! (Interpret that statement however you wish)

Yep, I'm pretty sure Instagram was well-known for people uploading pictures of their meals. Not sure how true that remains today.

We did not mention all the statistics during the announcement because statistics are not what make a roller coaster great; it's the ride experience it delivers that makes it great.

  • It's good to see me, isn't it? No need to respond! That was rhetorical. Under 30 days until Banshee makes its public debut! We can't wait for you to come out and experience this ride.

We have guests that are more excited about our live shows than our roller coasters, that visit the park specifically for the shows. For these guests, the Cirque Imagine announcement was as exciting as

Once Banshee takes off in to the valleys I am not sure the noise will be much of an issue.

I really hope it has that classic B & M roar like Raptor. That would just fit the name of the ride that much more!

I personally hope it roars like Mantis! But apparently most people find Mantis's sound annoying, so I'm probably a minority...

I want the kumba roar.

At least it ain't the katy perry roar

Kumba is the loudest coaster I have ridden but was not my favorite at Busch Gardens Tampa.

Kumba was the loudest I can remember for the entire course, in terms of the "B&M roar."

That said, the loudest coaster MOMENT I can think of was the eardrum-ripping sound at the top of the lift on SOB. YIKES.

More supports are being delivered right now. Hopefully some real progress is made next week. Too bad I'll be out of the country with no internet....

I wish the webcam was of a high enough resolution that we were able to see details. Because I know that they are hard at work, but unless we see more supports or track it looks like nobody is there.

looks like they are going to set up another support this afternoon. Last one before the loop.

Whoever said that they would skip the dive loop for now and would go straight to the lift hill loop, I think you were correct.

I don't necessarily think thats true. They set up the supports for the bottom of the first drop, but didn't hang the track on it till last week. And actually one of those supports still doesn't have its track attached. I think these short supports they are doing are rather stable free standing, so they can put them up and get them out of the way. This makes room for more supports and track to be delivered.

Or they know we are watching the webcam religiously and want to make it look they are accomplishing something while the unspectacular lift work continues. :D

There are 2 more sets of supports installed.

1 climbing toward the dive loop, and another climbing toward the vertical loop.

Kumba does have the loudest roar (louder than Mantis) of any B&M that I have ridden. After all, "Kumba" means ROAR.

Considering that the track itself is apart of the structure that holds the track in the air. (Have to always remind myself of that)

There is a math in how this is constructed to an extent.

I just wish I could hear the rolling thunder.

Grieving Terpy

"I'm rolling thunder, pouring rain

I'm coming on like a hurricane

My lightning's flashing across the sky

You're only young but you're gonna die"

They were able to erect the next support after the first drop before sunset. Great work with the photo edits, keep it up.

Edit: Good fix.

So which support did they add? Is it not highlighted yet in davidw's pic? I'm confused.

first loop, second inversion..

In case anyone uses loop and inversion interchangeably.

I updated my previous post with the updated status :)

While I was in line for the Scream Like A Banshee contest and one of the employees running the event said attendees of Banshee Media Day will be some of the first to ride, before anyone else. My friend got media passes and said the back says media and coaster enthusiasts, which confirms what Don said about members of paid coaster clubs getting to attend.

I also took a few pics tonight, I will upload them later lol

Almost everyone I know uses them interchangeably. It drives me bonkers.

Here are my pics from tonight :) Banshee looks awesome in the fog!

Here's a look at the base of the first drop on Banshee.

Other items may get gently pulled upwards too!

^ that is exciting!

What is the distance from the ground to the track there? And as a follow up, what will the clearance be from the ride vehicle to the ground?
