myklhicks
I just took some great photos of Banshee and The Bat from Great Wolf lodge. Will be posted later. EDIT: And the skyline, from the highway.

Nick_Plummer
That would be a good show at Kings Island. Put it where Blood Drums is during Haunt.
Coasterama
Just when we thought it was all gone, the snow returns! EDIT: Never mind, looks like it was just a light dusting; no accumulation.
stinky
Wasn't Blood Drums previously done where the torn-up Action Zone is?
Gplez90
Just drove by the park. Banshee looks unbelievable against the KI skyline! You can see the front of the station from the road as well and it looks great! I cant wait to see her up close! The Interpreter
I think I heard a member here jumping up and down (so the Euro-Bounce was in storage?) Truth? Or a diversion? No camping.
steveinphoenix
I think the ride operators should be dressed like those Station guys from "Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey".

steveinphoenix
The big circle area is going to be a shaded locker/seating area isn't it?

steveinphoenix
I just noticed on the webcam view, you can clearly see the circular concrete cut where the Banshee sign marquee is going.
mullimann
Baynum Painting of Newport, KY is painting The Bat. They have a long term relationship with KI. I have met several of them since their old shop was just down the street from my house in Covington. They almost exclusively paint steel coasters with PPG PSX700, currently are using it on The Bat and Knott's Silver Bullet. It does have a temp requirement it must be above freezing if they use the fast drying hardener, and stay above for the cure time of almost 24 hours. Also has a required humidity to be above 40%. They have been busy this winter, since they are known as the go to guys for coasters now. They have said but they are planning more projects for Cedar Point or Kings Island later this year. I would say maybe The Beast for its birthday, but it takes 3 months to paint that, but I wonder if they are allowed to paint the support structure while the ride is in operation?

The support structure doesn't exactly stand still when the ride is in operation. It shakes and shimmies as the train passes over. If it don't shake, it's gonna break.
steveinphoenix
I seriously doubt KI will let anyone work on rides/coasters while they are in operation. I'm sure insurance wouldn't allow that.

thedevariouseffect
Not while rides are in operation.. But if the ride is locked out/e-stopped, go ahead.
LongTimeLurker
Couple of new pictures of the station up on Instagram. Looks like the freestanding wall is to hide some kind of electric box. fanofFirehawk
Dat Interior... Â Â If you wish to visit Kings Island's Instagram and view the photo on their social media page please click hereInstagram hides their photos well, I had to sneak my way into the developer encoding(thank you Google Chrome) and find the right link where they are keeping the photo... Anyways I think that is some fantastic detail in the rafters.
silver2005
Liking the wood arches in the station. I know this might be too much to ask, but a chandelier would be cool, maybe with cobwebs. I also recall that The Crypt had some fake flame torches which I think could be utilized in Banshee's station to great effect. Stained glass windows over the track at both ends might be cool, too.
steveinphoenix
I think it would have been better to leave the wood its natural color instead of painted it grey.
fanofFirehawk
That doesn't look like super high quality wood, that has been finished or should be... I think they made the right call to paint it.
ethancoaster
Good to see the station mostly completed as far as the visual part goes. I understand there is still a lot of electrical work to go. Also, thanks for the pictures Gplez90.
APE
I am a little disappointed in the station colors. I was hoping it would be a bit darker. Oo well still really looking forward to seeing the final product.
