ProdigyRider
I was at the park today and Diamondback shut down after I left the ride. I heard the restraints loosened, but didn't fatally fail. Anyone else hear about it?
zombieninja
Close to 8pm? That must have been mine. Row 4, right seat, on green train. After the first drop my restraint went up a click right when the airtime started. First time in a while my hands went down on this ride. I was a little freaked out. I immediately grabbed a ride op and filled out one of their sheets.
calakapepe
Nope, the only down time I experienced with DB was due to weather.
Jr for Birdy
I rode it twice before the announcement, I seen it was down before I walked back to ride it but I doubt it was due to weather because every other ride was working?
zombiejane
The ride was running empty for a little while after what happened to Zombieninja. We don't know for how long though... but more than just a full cycle.

Also, it seemed to be for about 6 or 7 cycles. Or each train twice. Must of it was mechanics working on the one train in the station. Also, during the delay, there was a line jumping incident behind me in which five guests were kicked out of line.

Sonofbeast2.0
A bit ironic that KI was saying how great B&M is and that happens... Note: I don't dislike B&M. Just thought it was ironic.

I thought the same thing. KI- "Those who have rode Diamondback know how reliable and smooth a B&M is." Me- "Funny, I rode it earlier, but had to suffer a 20 min delay" Of course, I still trust B&M, as well. It's just highly ironic for those of us who were in line at the time of the breakdown.

josh4958
In June I was in line for DB. When the train came in the station a rider told staff the restrain "clicked up" on the second hill. Riders were removed from the train, and all three were sent thru several empty test runs. This was well before the tragic accident in TX. I want to be clear that the ride staff and management that responded took the guest complaint serious, and wanted to be sure that DB was safe to be on.
Existential
I wish they would add seat belts to this freakin' coaster already! I HATE the feeling of those restraints. HATE it. A seat belt would be so reassuring.
Thrill_Biscuit
Perspective Undependable = SBNO for half a season while costly kinks and wear are ironed out along hard-to-reach sections of the structure of a ride. Dependable = simple, low-cost repairs built into the design, allowing for 20-minute delays here and there.

shark6495
calling terp... calling terp... I believe this ride is made that you can go through the circuit without needing a restraint. I believe this because terp said it was so...
fanofFirehawk
Sometimes on certain rides you might think it goes down one more click, but really it didn't and then when you hit the hill it rises to where you click really was. Did that make sense?
kjkjkj
I feel like when they are checking restraints instead of just pushing down they should push down and pull up. That would probably prevent the lapbar from being in between clicks.
CharleyTheDinosaur
It was also shut down on Wednesday for a while. First time in a long time I haven't gotten to ride it on a visit. Oh well it was a kids day anyway. I did get to go on Boo Blasters 4 times though.
Diamondbacker27
And this is why I like Intamin restraints! Mostly no clicking and you can tighten them when going up a hill. And they adjust at any size as long as you fit onto the ride. I love B&M just as much as Intamin.
Ki Man
This has happened before when I worked once or twice. Honestly I was pretty skeptical of the guests that said it. That's why you have to "have three clicks" to ride.
Creed Bratton
I wish they would add seat belts to this freakin' coaster already! I HATE the feeling of those restraints. HATE it. A seat belt would be so reassuring. No...just no. The ride already has double restraints, there isn't really a justifiable place to add seat belts either.Adding the units would be more uncomfortable to guests.

I agree Diamondback does NOT need seatbelts. IMO it would ruin some of the airtime you feel which is the best thing about it.
PKIVortex
Vortex was shut down on 8/3 for the same reason. I really doubt the bars really pop up!
milesharrison
Well, Diamondback just went down yet again...not sure why. Waiting in line though.
Tanna
To be honest, I've have had a click- and my thinking was "Well, there's two more locks, just in case." Was I wrong on thinking that? We surmised that because the clamshell go WAY in due to my size, that it when it clicked, it was just moving forward to average. There's a good deal of space when it happens, but I'm used to having space around me and some lap bar room on all the rides. I always felt that the shell design made a pretty good catcher's mitt, just in case.
shawnofthedead
If this is happening, I look for them to put a seatbelt in and if it is I agree.
PKIVortex
Unless the bar was in between clicks to being with, I doubt it went up while on the ride!
