New supports going up closer to the camera. They're finally working on "this side" of the station.

Regarding the keeping secrets blog post, kudos to the enthusiast that found the trademark and kept it a secret, letting the park - and all the park fans - have their fun.

Is there not a way to search for new trademark filings for a specific category, such as "Amusement Park Rides"? That just seems too easy.

Considering the primary category the latest Cedar Fair trademarks show up under is "metal key chains", I'm not certain it would help

Of course, if we did, and they were hiding under a shell corporation, we still wouldn't know which park (or group of parks) the trademarks were for.

It looks like today is going to be a busy day at the construction site. There are six supports (I think) on the ground ready to be installed directly in front of the camera, and a crane ready to hoist them.

Supports about to go up for anyone wanting to watch....this makes me as giddy as a little kid on Christmas.

Yes you can (to an extent anyway), but even then you either have to further limit your search or dig through thousands of records as the trademark was filed in January. Even if you did manage to find it, the owner is listed as Croatoan LLC in Evansville, Indiana. Most (if not all) of the other HW trademarks are registered to Koch Development Corp. in Santa Claus, so there's nothing specifically linking it to Holiday World.

It appears the first piece of launch track post-station is about to go up on the newly-installed supports.

Yet another very long section of launch track going up...this is section #7 (that we know of) installed out of 77 total.

It appears the flywheel has been installed. They are completing construction of the roof of the flywheel building.

There's also additional track in the staging area. It looks like they're about to start construction of the Immelman.

Edit: They are installing the Immelman exit track section and entrance into the vertical loop. Looking good.

I need to board my Thunderbird to make a Voyage and ride the Legendary Raven again before the season ends

Though if they do the same as in past seasons, you may not be able to ride Legend again this year- it's been closed for Happy Halloween weekends the last few years. Though you can still ride Raven & Voyage...and Thunderbird has yet to be fully built.

Last year, The Legend remained open through the second weekend of October. It closed two weeks early.

Well, that's MUCH better than shutting it down for the entire fall season- which I recall they did a few years back, leaving only Raven & Voyage open. I'd still advise getting out to Holiday World fairly soon though if you're wanting to do that trip, since it may close 2 weeks early again. Otherwise, you'll be missing out on a great wooden coaster during your trip.

This announcement is making it quite likely that I will be buying a HW pass next year. I was already planning on returning for Rock The World next year. With the addition of this coaster, I am hoping to also add Holiwood Nights to my itinerary.

Going by 2014 prices, the cost of both events (assuming 2 days for RtW again) would be $150+.

If I get a pass, the cost is $120 for the pass plus $67 for the events.

The 10% food and merch discount would likely more than make up for the difference.

Decisions decisions....

You are going to spend $370+ in the park?

Then again, more visits equals more fun.

Good point... I don't know that I'd visit enough to make it worth my while really. I'll still consider it though.

Wow. 57 of 77 track pieces are already in place, and that number may have increased in the past few hours. They are moving fast on construction.
