While I was at the Chicken Shack, an employee offered me a deal on a drink "pass" for my souvenir cup. He said that I could pay $8. Then, he would put my bar code into the system for the day. After that, my drinks would be unlimited for the day. Has anyone else been offered this deal?

There is something similar with an all day drink wristband that I had to pay $10 for. Didn't know there was one directly associated with the souvenir cups.

I didn't either. But it worked. I haven't been on here for a couple of weeks because we spent last week at Cedar Point, so I didn't know if this topic had been brought up or not. I couldn't find a thread about it though.

The thread on those is here, but that's for 20 oz drinks, not souvenir cups. I was not aware of an all-day deal for souvenir cups after the day of purchase.

I was at the Chicken Shack. And it worked for the rest of today. I was hoping that someone else had been offered the same deal.

We did this at Cedar Point and it was just over $5 after tax. One day they reactivated the bar code, the other day they put a drink band around the souvenir cup.

Makes me wonder why they're not trying to advertise these all-day drink offerings as much as they've advertised the new dining plans.

A number of offerings are in testing this year. As such, when, to whom, at what price, where...various things are offered varies. I suspect seeing how much the bands are used is part of the tests.

I just telephone Kings Island. This is what I was told. This drink "plan" was very recently initiated. The cost is $6.99 + tax. The total would be $7.46. Although all of the vendors are supposed to be able to reset your code, not all of them know about the plan yet. She said that if you ask for the plan, and the vendor doesn't know what you're talking about, you need to tell them to call the front desk.

(my thoughts) Or, to be on the safe side, just go to The Chicken Shack first. We know that they know about it.

I'm going Monday and I'll ask around and see which locations are informed about the new plan and which ones aren't.

That sounds good. I hope to go on Tuesday, and I plan to buy my all-day-plan right away.

$7 to reset the bar code or $1 refills. You'd have to drink a lot to come out ahead...

Unless you are large pop drinker.... Are there Powerade/Gatorade fountains? I forgot which one is a Coke product.... Because if so I could see my self downing a few of those during a day trip

Poweraide is, and yeah they have it at most locations. The blue variety.

Powerade, in most flavors, is also available in the Freestyle machines at JukeBox Diner and Hanks.

Why should the consumer have to tell the merchant to call the front desk? Why can't the front desk tell everyone beforehand?

Maybe they did but they know that sometimes it takes a few experiences for all employees to know what to do....

I know one location for sure for Powerade is across from the exit of Dodgem.

I'm not a big fan of the refillable up (great deal, I just don't like to carry it around) but I do have one. Have you noticed how Coke is particularly delicious out of it? I do agree that the ice melts and it makes it too watered down, but you get about 10 minutes of bliss.

Of course, I'm weird when it comes to soft drinks...

Fountain: Coke Classic only

20 oz bottle: Diet Pepsi or Coke Zero

2 liter : Diet Coke

For some reason the container makes a big difference for me. I can't do Coke Zero from a fountain. It's undrinkable for me... but out of a 20oz it's my favorite. On the other hand, Coke Classic is way to sticky for me when in 20oz form, but has a bolder flavor than Diet from a fountain. Am I alone on this?

I also think Coke Zero is nearly undrinkable from the fountain. I love it in cans, so much so that Cherry Coke Zero was what finally got me to entirely give up sugared soft drinks. I was ok with diet fruit-flavored sodas, but diet cola just tasted nasty to me, so I occasionally would still drink Coca-Cola Classic. Once I found the Cherry Zero I switched to it. I was so excited the first time I saw Zero instead of Diet at a fountain, until I tasted it.

I don't mind diet colas from the fountain these days. I refuse to get Zero from a fountain again though, it just tastes awful. I haven't noticed much difference between 20 oz bottles or cans. It is rare I get 20 oz bottles though.

I've become so used to diet and Zero drinks at this point that regular corn syrup or sugar soda tastes weird to me, whether in cans, bottles, or from the fountain.

I miss returnable bottles.

Particularly the 6.5 ounce Coca-Cola returnables. yes, they tasted different. Very different. Sweeter, stronger.

7 oz. bottles of 7Up. Hospitals served them.

Then again, 7Up had lithium in it til 1950. My parents would have been overjoyed had that been available when I was a kid.

So fascinating (it gets MUCH better after the intro--note the come on down to the plant invitation):

You can still find the glass bottles around town. The glass makes it taste fresher to me...

Even the Mexican Coke served in glass is not the same. Not even close.

Would be a good deal for me as love Power Aid. Next to water best drink to keep you from getting dehydrated on a hot day.

Ehhh I prefer Gatorade but that leads me back to the whole Pepsi products thing.

Won't ever be able to enjoy a Gatorade at Kings Island.
