Cirque Imagine 2015

Featured Replies

All I can say right now is "wow!" It started out like it was going to be the same show but with new Clowns, but it turned into so much more. There is a new act I'm dubbing "Twin Dragons" that defies explanation. I'm totally amazed.

There are some old friends from last year's show and a lot of new ones. I'll go more into it later. Lorax has some pics she might come along and post.

Mostly, if you're at the park after today Go See Cirque Imagine!

What athleticism. What stamina. Can you imagine 19 shows a week...six days a week, 3 shows most days with 4 on Saturdays? Not including rehersals, practice... Wow.

I'm looking forward to seeing this. Do they have a show everyday or about how often? Sorry for the laziness as I know I could go to the KI website and find out...lol

Three shows a day, one day off a week. Last year it was Wednesday off but I haven't seen this year's schedule yet to know if that will continue.

Ok, so a little more info. There are still four red clowns. The one playing the role of "Nico" I'm fairly certain is Philip, one of the clowns from late last season, who went on to perform the Ring in Skeleton Crew at Haunt. He is doing a very similar performance of the Ring in CI15, in other words, an excellent one.

One of the other clowns looks familiar, but I'm not certain if he is back from last year (I don't think it is either Carl or Julien). Two are definitely new to our Cirque, although one of them, Mickey (as called out by one of the others), I believe was part of Skeleton Crew last fall.

The young woman who did the Hand2Hand act last year is now the white clown who gets together with "Nico". She is doing a gorgeous act with two giant scarves hanging from the ceiling rather than the rope. Her skill and grace are far above the white clown from last season, in my opinion.

Trevor Bodogh, the Bycrobat is back, in as wonderful a performance as ever. It is functionally the /same/ more or less, but considering it was already perfection last year, I can hardly complain.

The new act that I'm calling Twin Dragons (because although they are very different in size, they are wearing the same black/silver costume with the dragon-like makeup the non-clowns of the show wear): two young women go up high on a sort of rope ladder, and do amazing things... You just need to see it.

There were also two young men in "dragon" costuming that did some acrobatics at the same time, but I couldn't keep my eyes off what was going on up high. They fortunately came back for the trampoline act which is almost exactly like last year's. One of them looks almost like he could be Trevor's brother, with a similar build and facial features. The other may be Sam from last season, but with the makeup difference I couldn't tell for sure.

I did miss seeing Julien's skill on the trampoline. I could watch him all day. But, the new team did a very respectable job.

Does anyone here have a showtimes guide from which they can post the showtimes for this weekend? I'm particularly interested in Sunday's showtimes, as I will be at The Beach Waterpark that morning and afternoon and would be interested in coming over that evening for the last showing. The website does not give showtimes, and the Android app apparently is unable to give showtimes for any date except the current date.

One of the girls working the event tonight mentioned to me that their off night this year will be Tuesdays, didn't say the exact times though for the rest of the week.

And I'll echo the sentiments of everyone else so far, Cirque Imagine was amazing tonight!

Goble - I will be at the park tomorrow and will see if I can find out show times.

Magenta Lizard - thanks for hanging out with me while we waited. It's always great seeing you.

The show blends the old show with new things. I know last year they changed things throughout the season, and expect the same this season. Regardless, the show does not disappoint.

Here are a few pics:

You have to love the clowns in this show. They are the only clowns I like.

I was hoping they would allow Trevor to do more stunts/tricks than last year. I guess when you have a great thing why mess with it.

The gal that was in Hand To Hand last year, is possibly more impressive this year on the ribbon. She may be better than the gal on the rope last year which I thought would be impossible. She was simply amazing.

The new act, well I won't put too many spoilers out there, but I think they possibly steal the show.

Without a doubt there is tremendous amount of talent in this show. The strength the women show is incredible. Not that the men are weak, but the gals really are dynamic this year.

Yeah, I just have a trip planned for Tuesday and my friend and I really wanted to see the Cirque show so, a little disappointed. :( but! I'll just catch the next time I go and I'll make sure it isn't a Tuesday lol :)

So, the app isn't showing Cirque times, and they didn't have the new times guide out when I was at the park yesterday... When is it showing? I am trying very hard not to waste gas driving down there just to watch Cirque tonight, but I have a feeling I may not be able to resist. Wouldn't want to show up at the wrong time if I end up going.

I noticed a couple days ago that the app wasn't showing show times for the Cirque show and I've have checked back a few time and still nothing. I thought at least by the first day of show they would have times up but I guess now :/

Show times today are 1:30, 3:30, 5:00 and 7:00. I would presume tomorrow will be the same, but can let you know tomorrow.

Wow.

I'm glad the shows are starting up.  I can get through the park's rides pretty quick so some shows help kill some time until I'm ready for another round on rides.

Unfortunately, my favorite show doesn't open until June 12th. :(

I saw the show for the first time yesterday. I agree, it's amazing!!

I LOVE the changes they made, and I'm glad they brought back what they did (just wouldn't be Cirque without Trevor, right?)

Part of me wishes that they changed out more acts, but that's from the perspective of someone who saw the show a lot last year. They successfully took last year's show and made it even better. Another must see!!

Last season some of the acts were vastly different from the beginning of the season to the end of the season. I wonder if it will be the same this year or if last year was changed due to necessity (i.e. clown injuries). The show continuously improved last year from what was really good to begin with.

I saw the 5:00 show yesterday with Goble... WOW! Amazing!  :D The new act was pretty mind-blowing... I'll have to look for the two guy acrobats during the new act next time as I was just looking at what was going on above the stage. I was bummed that Hand2Hand didn't come back, but the show was still as amazing as ever!

Have already seen it 4 times-never gets old.

I perform the show myself in the kitchen every night before dinner while watching the current week Game of Thrones with Pantera blazing. The neighbors don't like it...but the girlfriend sure as hell does.

That's how good the show is man.

Saw it last night...it was amazing! I watched it last year but I didn't remember much. My heart was beating so fast through the whole thing...these types of shows really freak me out...but it was worth it. The new ladder act was awesome.

So glad Kings Island brought this show back for another year!  It is awesome from start to finish!  BRAVO!

Waiting for the second show today.

Got to see the t-shirt launch before the show for the first time. Really cool idea.

Has anyone here learned any of the new performers' names or seen a cast list and care to share? I hate referring to them by description rather than names.

I'm really enjoying the energy of the new clown with the longer hair. He's pretty endearing. Watching again, I'm almost convinced the one I said looked familiar but I didn't think was Carl or Julien (the tallest of this year's clowns) might actually BE Julien but with a character change in addition to a haircut. He was pretty darn good on the trampoline today.

I also still think the shorter man in silver and black might possibly be Sam from last year.

I'm looking forward to watching two more shows today. Once I watch one, it's hard not to stay for more.

Edit: watching it again, I'm even more convinced that's Julien. Last year he was so stoic and this year so expressive, it threw me preview night.

Edit again: just when I think I have this figured out, one of the other clowns goes and calls him what sounds like Remy. Regardless, he is great on the trampoline. So is the one I believe is called Mickey.

My wife and I went to the 7:00 show tonight based on the recommendations from this thread. What a great show! Thank you to everyone who spoke so highly of it. I can't wait to go again. Two thumbs up!
