BoddaH1994
It appears as though more FUNtv monitors have been or are in the process of being installed at Kings Island. FUNtv debuted chain-wide in 2014 and has proven to be an excellent way to reach guests while waiting in line and throughout each park.

Diamondback96
Hopefully they don't put FunTV in FoF's queue (unless they have, in which case please switch it back to the unique video. I haven't been to KI since 2012, sorry). Â Park-wide things like this shouldn't be in the queues for heavily-themed rides, especially if the queue is heavily themed.
RollerNut
Is KI as bad at thier Trivia Game as Carowinds? I found more than 3 errors in Carowinds FunTv trivia
jsus
That's about what I expected upon seeing the new electrical and network infrastructure up there. Hopefully it's not too annoying and perhaps different than the queue feeds. Hopefully they don't put FunTV in FoF's queue (unless they have, in which case please switch it back to the unique video. I haven't been to KI since 2012, sorry).Park-wide things like this shouldn't be in the queues for heavily-themed rides, especially if the queue is heavily themed.  They put in new (Samsung?) LCD TV's with a digitized version of the queue film, rather than wiring them into FunTV.

I was hoping that they didn't end up putting FunTV in there after all.
Oldiesmann
They were still showing the digitized queue film in there as of earlier today.

dtk1378
Ugh. These are the WORST. Â What is bad about them? They give an extra layer of entertainment in some long lines, sure the music may not suit everyone's preferences, but it's better than listening to teenage gossip by the kids in front of you. The only FunTV's that I have had any issues with have been the Boo Blasters for the obvious reasons which have been beaten to death. Like others, I just hope they keep FunTV away from Flight of Fear though.

KatieF
I actually really like the FunTV's for the most part. The facts get kind of repetitive in a long wait-- but I appreciate the different music-- and oddly enough, some of the pop music actually sticks with me now as a Kings Island memory. I can listen to some songs in the winter and easily imagine I'm back at Kings Island!

A TV playing music videos you can stream on any device does not make entertainment. It's what makes KI an amusement park and not a theme park. I am in complete support of themed queues because it really makes a park feel more magical and special to me, but KI has slacked on that for a long time.
jsus
Compared to the aggressive marketing on Six Flags Entertainment Network..... From my limited time at SFMM and what I've seen online, aggressive isn't, er, aggressive enough to describe SFEN's advertising. This poster is not a fan. He's a human who despises such levels of advertising.
The Interpreter
Then there is the constant in park advertising for Miracle Whip, Snickers, Starburst, Red Gold.... Terp, the official visitor of NJFTP.
homestar92
^However, during the 2+ hour wait for Goliath at SFGAm last season, I did see several FULL episodes of Looney Tunes. That was a very welcome bit of programming.
The Interpreter
Thank goodness for The Flash Pass. I had about four hours I could spend there. Goliath twice and everything else I wanted to do at least twice. Worth.every.penny. And then some.
Italian Job 2005
Complete with the old Cedar Fair logo. shark6495
KI is not a theme park though. It hasnt been for a while. It is even listed as the Largest Amusement and Water Park on their website. So we can lament the lack of theming, but KI is not Universal or Disney.  As for the Fun TVs it would be nice to see some "local Programming" aka maybe a live studio feed. Hourly or so live hits from somewhere in the park. A live KI game show on stage that is broadcast through out the park....  Maybe I should throw a resume at CF for Fun TV programmer....
homestar92
^ In line for Beast, I caught a glimpse of a program called "Cash Coaster" (appeared to be a Cash Cab knockoff). I was on the ramp between the first queue house and the station and unfortunately didn't really get to see or hear any of it.
kingsislandfan1972
I actually like the Funtv's, (except when I'm waiting in line for Boo Blasters, I admit I actually miss the spooky sounds when you enter the building.) I think it would be cool if they showed clips of Xtreme Coaster Wars on the Funtvs, which Kings Island has been on a couple of times. (New episodes soon!), or throw in some classic Kings Island footage. Overall I have thought the Funtvs have been great, and makes the time go by faster when your waitng in line.

kingsislandfan1972
I don't mind waiting in line because the ride is always worth the wait. The longest line I waited last year was Diamondback, Banshee had a long line too but it seems it goes quicker than Diamondback.
Nick_Plummer
I was at Cedar Point on Tuesday and I saw more POVs of coasters from other parks than I did of CP rides lol. I saw Xcelerator, The Beast, and Banshee while in line for Maverick and that cash cab knock off which took place on Banshee. I was surprised that other parks were in the spotlight more than the king of Cedar Fair parks.

jdawg1998
There's an new FUNtv at Viking Fury as well.  I like the concept, not a fan of the execution. It amazes me they can't add at least 5 more songs and a few more commercials. I hear the same thing over and over and over again. I honestly believe they should try to add so much that a guest will never hear/see the same thing twice in a day.
