rcwizard13 Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 Looks pretty neat. I just looked online for the manufacturer, but it doesn't seem to have been released. Any guesses? 3 Quote
silver2005 Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 My guesses would be either Gerstlauer, Mauer, or Zierer, though as we saw with Cannibal, it could be in house (with help with other companies). It does look like whoever is building it is taking a page from Premier and going with the forward and backwards launches and some layout similarities to the likes of Tempesto. 2 Quote
marth555 Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 Ive heard its an El Loco from S&S but I cant find a source 3 Quote
ethancoaster Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 It's a launched El Loco and the end the video shows the S&S logo. They released a concept a few months ago. Apparently one more is planned in the U.S. this year. 4 Quote
Oldiesmann Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 Looks like a fun ride. Too bad Jersey's so far from here. I'd love to spend a few weeks exploring their boardwalks. 4 Quote
The Interpreter Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 ..it can be done in a day. Terp, who did, many years ago...with native Jersey folk. 5 Quote
Thrill_Biscuit Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 This is what Surf Dog aspires to be when he grows up! My only Jersey experience was the former Ft. Dix/McGuire AFB long ago. Didn't realize I was so close to where the Hindenburg disaster had taken place many decades before. Anyway, lots of sand and pine trees. Never made it to any amusement parks (it was winter anyway). 5 Quote
The Interpreter Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 Now, you want to add Clementon and NJFTP, you could easily spend a week or more... 5 Quote
marth555 Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 I turned off the video a few seconds early I see 3 Quote
The Interpreter Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 I used to get VERY irritated with teachers who shut down films before the credits--which, technically was and is a violation of many licenses to exhibit copyrighted educational films. Not unlike selling books while cutting the author's name off the cover and title page... 3 Quote
Tuskin Posted August 5, 2015 Author Posted August 5, 2015 I think this will be a great addition for them. So many places are becoming a hot spot for my coveted vacation planning. This is becoming more difficult by the day, and I don't mean that as a bad thing either. 2 Quote
IndyGuy4KI Posted April 30, 2019 Posted April 30, 2019 Test dummies fall out of ride during testing. https://www.nbcphiladelphia.com/news/local/Roller-Coaster-Test-Dummies-Fall-Crash-Ocean-City-Jersey-Shore-Hotel-Roof-509233341.html?fbclid=IwAR0bmghwRU9MVwoonsYHKr_UeS7XNZ2BZy2fr_F6sEjZ6l3QI3w2tZrGGSs Quote The incident occurred back on April 20 at Playland’s Castaway Cove in Ocean City, New Jersey. The GaleForce roller coaster was undergoing a routine safety check when two water-filled dummies fell off the ride and plummeted into the Ebb Tide Suites next door, damaging shingles and plywood. The dummies had leaks that went undetected and they lost their mass and shape, causing them to fall. “Obviously it’s not something that would ever happen with a person in it,” Hartley said. “You know you don’t lose rigidity in a person. The lap bar comes down. You’re secured in there.” Quote
JAHill Posted April 30, 2019 Posted April 30, 2019 So that's now: 1 - A year-long delay for faulty track. 2 - Noise complaints requiring a new train design. 3 - A full retrack after one year of operation. 4 - This. Quote
