Rode Vortex again since it was a walk on. As we came into the final helix a spot of pink caught my eye down by one of Vortex footer. I actually rode again (agh) to verify what've saw. But yes a pink ribbon/tape used for marking/surveying. It was a lone marker, so may be nothing. I tried to get a picture but it sits on the other side of the hill in this picture.

Well, clearly, that's going to be the site of the inverted floorless standup giga coaster's second 90 degree overbanked airtime hill inversion.  Obviously.

I must be blind because I can't see anything in that picture.

No way, that is definitely going to be a new smoking area.

If people here want accurate reports of things seen in the park, they need to not make fun of posters thereof.

Terp has been dropping hints that could be about Vortex's demise this Summer. Terp is also one of those people that could have inside info about whats coming to the park.

Where is that?

The marking in the parking lot has been there for a while. I'm pretty sure I saw it in the parking lot at the very beginning of August at the latest. There is another one that says 370. 

I believe those markers were from the color run or something like that.

What about this marker?

I just thought the fence won a Blue Ribbon at the Warren County Fair?

 

 

(edited to add that seeing the blue ribbon yesterday made me smile and think it was either being wrapped up as a gift or won a blue ribbon for being the best fence. I'm not being sarcastic...just silly. )

NOOOO I hope they're not removing the fence, that is the greatest fence in all the world! 

 

Really though, I would much rather see work be done on the train ride than see the removal of Vortex, Vortex is still stellar

(Even as often as I heard it in spiels riding the train this year, I didn't get the visual joke until I asked about the ribbon)

Some of the spiels had me in giggles this year. Top fence!

That marker on Vortex is nothing new, it exists to help the park monitor the rate at which Vortex is sinking in comparison to the rate at which Magnum XL is sinking.

I don't think that Vortex will be torn down anytime soon. Even Kings Island said that there is no plans on tearing down Vortex. Plus, it's one of the most popular ride in the park.

I rode yesterday to try to find the marker mentioned. The only thing I saw that was fluorescent pink and looked anything like tape was a 42" wristband laying on the ground somewhat near the brake run.

Trying to look for things while riding Vortex makes for a very interesting experience, too...

Like trying to find a puddle in the ocean.
