dtk1378
I'm actually glad they did the chicken salad at Chicken Shack, it still may not be healthy, but I personally am more inclined to get lettuce on my meal with it as a salad over a wrap, but that's just me because I hate salad in wraps, I know, I'm weird lol.
Creed Bratton
This is our first time renewing our gold passes. I renewed online on Oct. 23rd. Do we have to go through the processing center or is it automatic for renewals? I'm thinking its automatic because my pass portal on the app says 2016 but just wanted to be sure (it erroneously says 2016 + dining so I know it's not 100% accurate). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk If you renewed online you shouldn't have to go through the processing center. Even if you don't have to do that, it's always a good idea to bring receipts/documents from your renewal, just in case it didn't go through with the pass.

Italian Job 2005
I too was unaware Rivertown Potato Works had mini corn dogs on the dining plan. I had always gotten the chicken nuggets. https://www.visitkingsisland.com/images/uploads/file/2015%20KI%20Dining%20Plan%20Details%20v4.pdf
calakapepe
And the mini corn dogs are far superior to regular sized corn dogs... there's also a pesky stick in the way... *Eight Crazy Nights*

APE
It makes it tough for me to pull the trigger on the meal plan when there is no Rivertown Potato Works chili cheese fries included. That is my go to meal at the park.

rhyano
Scrambler has now a new color scheme and new LED lights! I love what Kings Island is doing with their classic flats!
CoastersRZ
Where is your source for this new color scheme and LED lights on Scrambler? BTW, Scrambler has had LED lights on it for several years now.

calakapepe
Just because they've had LED lights before (which I personally don't remember any) doesn't meant they can't get new LED lights. Thank you for the link for the updated scrambler, Infinity
CoastersRZ
That is very true. The LEDs were older, and were not very eye popping, like those on Shake Rattle and Roll. Hopefully this will add some nice features at night. Now lets hope they give the Monster an updated lighting package. I love the blue color of the structure. Kind of wish they would have painted the cars as well. They do not seem to fit the bright blue color. It would also be nice if they added some additional flat rides to Coney Mall with some awesome LED light packages. I have long felt that the former Salt Water Circus site (the grassy area by the turnaround for Diamondback`s pull into the station), would be a good spot for a flat ride, as well as the former Flight Commander site, and between The Racer and Flight of Fear. Kind of bummed that Carowinds is getting four "new" flats for next year. Hopefully KI can feel the same love for flats one year.

The structure definitely looks bright and nice though.
medford
Scrambler makes me a little nauseous just to watch it in action, but my wife and kids love it, so I've spent a lot of time observing it in action. After seeing what they did to SR&R last season, I was hoping this was in the works (for Monster as well) and think the paint job looks great, if the lighting package matches SR&R, that will bring some much needed "pop" to that end of Coney.
BeeastFarmer
Where is the outrage for the blue and purple colors on Scrambler? jtro223, crossthreading from Carowinds
calakapepe
Ew. What is with these colors? Did Ed Hart help them pick it out?? Blue as a base has loads of complimentary colors, but purple and teal are too close together on the color wheel! Unless you want unity like on Invertigo, then only ditch the purple. But goodness.. Horrid. Some orange, red, maybe yellow. Here's a chart to showcase my point and help support my outrage. Was that sufficient?
Spectrum91
I'm also curious about the ride's top piece, which looks like a large inverted cone. I know the ride is disassembled annually, so I'm hoping that piece just hasn't returned yet. It'd be a bummer if it pulled a Monster and lost one of its most distinguishing features.
calakapepe
It would be a bummer, but I'm banking on that since there are no LEDs as of that picture, that the crown for Scrambler is simply not erected until the lights are ready.

I agree 100% on ditching the ridiculous purple, the green I can handle, as I am one who likes unity and subtlety. If they want it to "stand out" then OK throw some red for accent stripes, and maybe some chrome/silver. EDIT: LOL nah, if Hart had helped, it would be a lot more pastel, and "Scrambler" would be written like a newspaper clipped ransom note.

calakapepe
In Ed's defense, he has shown he has a vast realm of creativity by not making either of the trains red on Storm Chaser. Incredibly respectable color choices for both trains being purple and blue.
BlondyRidesOn
I'm a little worried that the rides in Coney Mall may lose their uniqueness if adding a similar light package as Shake Rattle & Roll becomes a trend. Not saying it's bad, but they all have their own identity at night. I do like the new paint on Scrambler, though. Edit- Worded better.
calakapepe
I guarantee that they won't lose their uniqueness because other rides have LEDS. That level of brilliance is not the norm in the park as a whole and they will still stand out.. esp being in Coney Mall
upstop
The only other flat ride in Coney Mall that doesn't have a lighting package, other than the Dogems, is the Monster. Idk. I kind of like the carnival atmosphere that the lights create.
