Kodistict Posted September 20, 2019 Posted September 20, 2019 I wish I could have gotten to riding Volcano, it looked like an amazing ride! At least I can see it in a museum! 1 Quote
ThrillKingsFitzy Posted September 20, 2019 Posted September 20, 2019 Well, I don't live in Texas so..... Quote
malem Posted September 20, 2019 Posted September 20, 2019 Its a shame its service life came to such an abrupt end, but it's nice to see a parts of the ride preserved for historic value. The National Roller Coaster Museum doesn't (yet) have visitor facilities, but the collection can be seen during special events and by arrangement. 1 Quote
calakapepe Posted September 20, 2019 Posted September 20, 2019 If it would've ran for just.. like 2 months in 2018 I'd've ridden it haha One childhood dream that won't come to fruition. Least I got to see it standing! 1 Quote
Gordon Bombay Posted September 20, 2019 Posted September 20, 2019 Random: Did Volcano have both a load and unload station or just one station? Also, was it not running much at the end of its life? Quote
malem Posted September 20, 2019 Posted September 20, 2019 It had separate load and unload stations. It was down quite a bit in its final years, and being built into a former dark ride building didn't make maintenance any easier. It was up and running at the beginning of the 2018 season; I got what were to be my final rides on Opening Day. 2 Quote

Being there with you on that opening day, I do not remember there being a separate unload station. Quote
Maverick44 Posted September 20, 2019 Author Posted September 20, 2019 I am so sad I missed out on this coaster. I had planned to go in 2017 but they fell through due to money constraints. I am so upset with myself over not being able to ride this. Quote
BeeastFarmer Posted September 20, 2019 Posted September 20, 2019 When I rode it, there was no separate load/unload areas. This was in June 2016. Quote
