gforce1994
Over the course of the last week, it seems new construction materials were dropped off at the park (large crates of lumber). Any thoughts on what this is for?

If it is large crates of wood, I think it could be for offseason maintenance on their wooden rollercoasters. I could see Kings Island re-tracking more of The Racer this offseason.
PKIDelirium
That's by the Field of Screams haunt. It could either be related to that attraction, or just staging for offseason trackwork on Racer and/or Beast.
CoasterJack
It could just be wood for a re-tracking over the winter. Don't know if it would involve GCI, or just some yearly maintenance on The Beast.

Honest question, how do we know if GCI is scheduled or not this upcoming offseason?
gforce1994
There’s documents submitted to counties/cities where owners of properties will list the contractors hired for the year.

GCI was on the 2020 notice of commencement, furthermore they already did work earlier this year on racer.

Technically, on Kings Island’s latest Notice of Commencement submitted to Warren County, they do have GCI listed as a contractor for 2019, 2020, and 2021 additions and improvements which likely includes The Racer’s re-tracking in 2019 and 2020, but it could also include 2021 re-tracking. For anyone interested, here is the full document filed last December for 2019, 2020, and 2021. It and more of Kings Island’s filed documents are accessible on the Warren County Recorder’s website.
Captain Nemo
It's a bit much to try and dissect this (or spend time on) to even come to any conclusions regarding this. It may not even be a delivery. It easily could be relocations of already owned products.
Rivertown Rider
I agree that it is probably Racer retracking. It would make sense to finish the retracking and then go back to Racer's original paint scheme for the 50th.

coaster sally
Does every little thing need to be analyzed to death? We know they are not building a new woodie over the off season....

At this point, I am hopeful that they are doing some significant GCI re-tracking on The Racer this offseason especially given the proximity of the new wood to the ride, but I wouldn’t be expecting anything more than that. Maybe they are repairing a fence or something. I really don’t think they are building anything new.

Vortex
Realistically probably just maintenance on The Racer or Beast. With only 3 parks open I don’t see anything new in 2021 unless it’s something small. Season passes went on sale with out any announcement for 2021 Cedar Fair parks. gforce1994
It’s looking like it’ll be a partial rebuild of The Racer. For those wondering what I mean, check Racer 75 at KD, a large portion was rebuilt.
