HabloRM Posted December 5, 2004 Posted December 5, 2004 Especially on Troika they should get ALL the lights on it working right. I all ways hated working that ride and only two arms are lit up. It looks bad. This is the kind of thing that you should put on the maintenance list every night until it gets fixed. ..matt "zephyr" not "zepher" And the sad thing is that we do. Or at least I do everytime I'm at Monster. Some of those lights weren't working either and I forgot to add that in my last post. When I'm at Troika I let them know about it too. Do you actually see the list after it is printed to ensure that everything that is on it is in the correct place? ..matt I don't look at any list. I didn't know there even was a list. I just always write it down and give it to my sup. Quote
Pirate of PKI Posted December 5, 2004 Posted December 5, 2004 I voted Vortex but now I think Vortex and The Racer about equal. I would like to see The Racer maybe get new logos and theming. I think a new paint job on The Vortex would be nice. Quote

Pirate of PKI Posted December 6, 2004 Posted December 6, 2004 They did? I don't think i've seen it. Quote
familyman Posted December 6, 2004 Posted December 6, 2004 I believe The Vortex just got a new paint job. Quote
Alien Seed Posted December 6, 2004 Posted December 6, 2004 Racer's new logo is just the name of the ride written in cursive now, along with a red and blue background. Quote
M & M Productions Posted December 6, 2004 Posted December 6, 2004 I believe The Vortex just got a new paint job. It did in 2002 Quote
Coney_man Posted December 6, 2004 Posted December 6, 2004 Coney should be completly renovated to its original status when it opened in 72', and a little history area of when PKI opened......hey, it could work.... Quote
CoastersRZ Posted December 6, 2004 Posted December 6, 2004 Yeah, I think an area with a lilttle history of PKI and images of the past coould be popular with guests. I don`t forsee it happening anytime soon though. Quote
HabloRM Posted December 6, 2004 Posted December 6, 2004 Coney should be completly renovated to its original status when it opened in 72', and a little history area of when PKI opened......hey, it could work.... Maybe something like a Paramount Story. Only about the history of King's Island though. It would be a good idea. Quote
CoastersRZ Posted December 6, 2004 Posted December 6, 2004 I wouldn`t necesswarily hope that the history thing would be a show. More like the Paramount Story, a walk through in which you can leisurely stroll throught the area and see pictures, facts and artifacts from the past. In fact, the Paramount Story would be a wondeful place for something like that. Quote
familyman Posted December 6, 2004 Posted December 6, 2004 Old commercials and pictures would make for some interesting cue line entertainment in 05! I know I enjoyed the old beast commercials and the documentary on the ride itself. Quote
PKIDelirium Posted December 16, 2004 Posted December 16, 2004 Yeah, I've got part of that old commercial on my camcorder! Quote
UncleHenry Posted December 17, 2004 Posted December 17, 2004 Coney should be completly renovated to its original status when it opened in 72', and a little history area of when PKI opened......hey, it could work.... So you want Coney to be renovated to how it was when it first opened huh? Let's just have Racer then, no backwards. Let's also take Zephyr out and put some little slide in. While we're at it, let's take out every other ride in that area except Monster! Not to mention Coney would only go from the Coney Mall sign to where Zephyr currently stands. Half of Coney's area would be gone! Yeah, lets completly restore it to 1972, great idea... Quote
TheKlockster Posted December 17, 2004 Posted December 17, 2004 I like Coney just the way it is. I like it alot better in the normal season than in Fearfest though. With the moving lights on The Racer and Vortex, and all the amusement park atmosphere. It just feels too dead during Fearfest. And considering that most of the days I went were during Fearfest, I haven't got to experience a lot of the normal Coney Mall. One update they could make is make that hammer swing game easier. Quote
HabloRM Posted December 17, 2004 Posted December 17, 2004 I like the normal Coney Mall too. There's always that classic feeling and FearFest is too much for me. So many people and it gets too dark. The fog gets in the way of driving Monster. The fog got so thick that I could barely see the ride to drive it. Quote
TheKlockster Posted December 17, 2004 Posted December 17, 2004 You think that's bad? When I was riding SOB during Fearfest (which I did alot), I noticed that on the big helix, there was actually a deck of fog. Like at the top you would be above it, then as you dropped down into it, it would get bright right when you were at eye level with it. Then when you were below it you could look up at it. It was the wierdest thing! Quote
The-Snapper Posted December 18, 2004 Posted December 18, 2004 Racer needs something else in its station! Its too boring. Quote
HabloRM Posted December 19, 2004 Posted December 19, 2004 Racer needs something else in its station! Its too boring. Racer station is very boring. Maybe one or two more Q-tv's be nice. Or at least a P.A. system. I always hated yelling across the station. Quote
Great America Guy Posted December 20, 2004 Posted December 20, 2004 Wait... Before you repaint The Racer, retrack it first. Other than that, I think all Coney rides are fine. Quote
PKIDelirium Posted December 21, 2004 Posted December 21, 2004 Because is it too rough, and the trains are not in the best shape, either. The lap bars constantly staple me during ride. I've had to get help to getout a bunch of times. Quote

Sound advice, no doubt, not to sit over a wheel. However, I think the same point can be argued for Racer as it was for Son of Beast a while back. You shouldn't have to worry about which seat you ride in to get an enjoyable ride. I've ridden all three of the racing coasters at PKI, PKD, and Carowinds. Racer, by far has the most potential......as it still delivers more airtime than the other two. However, it is without a doubt the roughest and worse maintained. Racer is definitely in need of some TLC. Some re-tracking and repainting would be wonderful! - Todd Quote
PKIDelirium Posted December 27, 2004 Posted December 27, 2004 Even in a non wheel seat, I get nailed. On Red Train too. Quote
flightoffear1996 Posted December 28, 2004 Posted December 28, 2004 Well dont ride wooden coasters that is all I have to say. Quote
thejoker8388 Posted December 28, 2004 Posted December 28, 2004 If you don't ride wooden coasters at PKI your missing out on the best coasters they have in my opinion. I mean if you don't go on woodies then the only good coasters are Vortex, Face Off, and FOF. It dosen't make any sense to me that you would go to PKI and not ride the woodies. Quote
Delirium_Guy Posted December 28, 2004 Posted December 28, 2004 Well dont ride wooden coasters that is all I have to say. No, I love wooden coasters! I've ridden over a 100. Yes, they are suppose to be rough and and jostle you around. My point, they aren't suppose to HURT. The wood coasters are PKI have to be ridden defensively, which isn't how its suppose to be. The only reason Beast isn't as rough, IMHO, is because it goes so slow throughout most of the ride. Trust me, you aren't suppose to be bouncing up and down out of your seat. - Todd, even the Coney Island Cyclone is smoother.... Quote
