I'm hoping to get on TT2 because I haven't gotten on it and I've heard it's amazing. Be careful what you say, your wish may just be granted. And why would SIX add Rapterra or AlpenFury if they want Cedar Point to be king? Cedar Point is the golden child. This happened RIGHT when the merger happened, right when Cedar Fair took over................ VERY suspicious. There was no announcement, nothing from Great Adventure at all. Only word of mouth from ElToroRyan and Coaster Studios. I've read somewhere that Six Flags wanted to redo Kingda Ka on its 20th anniversary but when the merger happened and Cedar Fair called the shots, they were like "nope." I'm insanely lucky I rode TT2 opening day 2024 and it was incredible, I'm very lucky I managed to get it. TT2 isn't going anywhere, its now the tallest and fastest coaster in North America, giving Cedar Point the crown. I'm darn sure there was malice involved in this whole thing, combined with maintenance and Ka most likely being in very rough shape and needing a major overhaul............ On top of that, Ohio is now home to the tallest, fastest, and longest coasters in North America. Rapterra and Alpenfury aren't above anything Cedar Point has, so they don't affect Cedar Point. Man I despise Cedar Fair (now Six Flags) and Cedar Point. No park in the US will surpass them at all anymore. This merger was a mistake. Six Flags was quite literally absorbed by Cedar Fair and now that they're running the show (under six flag's name) they're going to do whatever it takes to prop up Cedar Point at ALL costs. Want more proof? Geauga Lake..... They shut it down completely just so it couldn't compete against Cedar Point........ They gave Kings Island a sub-par giga so it couldn't overshadow Millenium Force............. At least I can still get I305 and black out this spring when Kings Dominion opens. Lol. (Still can't be as bad as 08 Crypt, that was scary) Darn you Cedar Fair. This one doesn't sting me as hard though as never being able to ride TRTR....... I'll forever be salty over that one. Forvever. (I did technically ride it in 2008 under a different form, and I have a near-spot on virtual recreation of it)

This is why they can continue doing what they are doing....until folks speak with their wallet and avoid spending any money with them, they gonna continue down this path until enough people do speak with their wallet, at which point that sets the bar for the bare minimum that needs to be done to keep the money coming in. And then a timely give away the gate, and people return...

(Not old enough, i was too young to ride my #1 dream credit, TR:TR but I did technically get it in 2008 under the ultra intense, and actually frightening V1 Crypt, and in 2010 as the worlds biggest indoor ferris wheel) Oh well. Theres nothing I can do. At least I got to ride TT2 in May 2024 opening day. And I get to ride I305 and black out this spring too. Long live Ka. I'll shut up now. The GP doesn't really care too much about ride removals, as long as there are still rides. Picture this: A family from Oregon makes a once-in-a-lifetime trip to see the East Coast, and they happen to stay in New Jersey right across from Great Adventure. They have an extra day and don't have anything planned, so they decide to go as a family. They get in, and see all the amazing rides Great Adventure has to offer. They see El Toro, Nitro, Medusa, and Jersey Devil. They're so stoked that they get to ride these rides and the lines aren't that bad. They don't know any different or literally anything about Ka. If they do, not as much as us enthusiasts might think. The family has a great day. Here's what I'm getting at: The GP doesn't really care about one or two rides that are closed, because there are so many others. Enthusiasts, who want to get the tallest, fastest, and craziest coasters know and love Ka. But, the GP just thinks "oh it's closed? Well, I'll just get on this other ride that looks just as cool!" It stinks to loose such a great ride, but SIX made the smart financial decision to get rid of Ka and hopefully replace it with something just as great, but at a much cheaper cost. Let's not focus on the past, but look towards the future. We can hope for many great years ahead of fun filled days at amusement parks with friends and family. That's all I got. If not, your pass to Kings Island and the money you will spend investing in Six Flags at Kings Dominion are feeding The Beast you despise.

Its not that I dont like Six Flags, its Cedar Fair I have a problem with. Its that they selectively feed certain parks and leave the others to rot. Im just sick of the Cedar Point elite-ism. The only season pass I have is actually to Holiday World as thats closest to home for me... But I do visit KI once or twice a year due to me living a bit far from it. I usually go during haunt, for obvious reasons.

BeeastFarmer Posted yesterday at 10:07 PM Share Posted yesterday at 10:07 PM ^Universal enters the chat. What does it really matter if they keep CP as the flagship? This is the business model that works for them...they have resorts to fill, which are very lucrative. The entire economy of Sandusky is dependent on CP. What metric are you using in your stance CP will be the "top dog?". Money spent? Roller coasters built? Food service? If you are looking at money spent, let's look at 23/24/25. How much has been invested in the boardwalk, TT2, and siren's curse? 80 million? That is chump change to what they are going to invest at Over Georgia. They are going to expected to pay approximately 332.6 million by the end of 2027 to have 100% ownership. Not knowing the terms of the deal, but assuming this is paid out over three years, had CP ever had $110 million invested in it, three years in a row? I believe they are going to do the same in Texas when that agreement comes up for renewal as well. This does not consider the "normal" cap ex going into the legacy Six Flags parks such as infrastructure, paint, new roller coasters etc. The former CFO executives knew how to extract revenue out of their properties. Legacy Six Flags parks, subjectively and anecdotally, were a farce. When you see Over Georgia, Over Texas, Great Adventure and Magic Mountain get tons of investment, that's exactly what they are attempting to do with those properties. Extract revenue. They have to please the market and they have their bonuses to keep safe. So if that means CP gets three roller coasters in three consecutive years, that's what they will do. If that means Kings Island gets family additions for eternity, but it keeps the passholders renewing, that's what they will do. If that means they love the profit percentage out of Michigan's Adventure, so they retain it and keep investing to a minimum because that works in the market, that's what they will do. Our nostalgia, our emotions, out loyalty will not change any of that. I can guarantee they will not miss my pass revenue, my add on revenue, my per caps revenue and my gate turns. Because there likely more than one pass they sell to replace me. But they do know that I will buy again next year after my protest because, well to quote Barry Williams, "Kings Island is (me). My laughter, my excitement, my sense of adventure." Or, to quote Hilda Bovine, "it isn't over til after I sing!"

Other than that, I don't plan on darkening a six flags turnstile until 2026 passes go on sale. ( Or on sell as they say sometimes)
