Kenban Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 The current rumor for the upgrades to Space Mountain at Disneyland in California point to during the day it will be Space Mountain. Then at night it will turn into Rockit Mountain where you would have a ride similar to what the Soundwave idea is. I really think that the same idea could be used at PKI. Install speakers and lights in the drum. Then do some work in the queue area to add a DJ and more lights. During the day the ride would be the same as it is now but maybe around 5 in the afternoon the ride changes over to Soundwave.

Spongebob would prob be more likely I have been hearing rumors of an addams family ride goin into two of the parks mainly PKI and PKD.

It has a pretty good theming package, and a pretty good storyline behind it. I think that money ould better be spent on a new attraction, instead of retheming an already popular attraction that has absolutly nothing wrong with its theming, IMO.

CoastersRZ Posted June 19, 2005 Posted June 19, 2005 I was under the impression that with Viacom splitting into two seperate companies that things might have settled down. By splitting into two companies, they have now lumped all their fast growth properties into one company and their slow growth properties (such as Paramount Parks) into the slow growth company. Additionally, I believe that Paramount Parks will be one of the core assets in the new slow growth company, which is to be named CBS Inc. or something similar. Screamscape shed a little more light on that subject a while back. I would imagine that the licensing agreements at Paramount Parks would remain status quo after the company splits sometime next year.

Scooby_Doo Posted June 19, 2005 Author Posted June 19, 2005 The soundwave concept sounds really cool but I wouldnt want to see the alien-space theme go away as for addams family most of you know how I feel I really want to see the addams in PKI Iam hoping paramount will go aggressively after the addams family property so I can see the addams family mansion and enjoy it and go to the park more often so I can ride it over and over plus the concept sounds like something WDW or Universal would install in there parks...also I wouldnt mind seeing some addams family merch in pki.

Guess they got too many comments like garbage. I totally agree that MTV would kill the ride, but even with that part gone and it just Soundwave it's still a bad idea. I still think FoF needs an upgrade, but keep it within its present theme. They should really go Space Mountain with it like Disneyland is doing, adding new lighting effects, cleaning it up a bit. It just needs some TLC (and I'm nearly sure PKD's is probably more in need of it than your guys).
moore Posted June 21, 2005 Posted June 21, 2005 I think it is perfectly fine the way it is. I really hope they don't re-theme it b/c then the lines will get really bad for it. The only thing I wish they would improve on it is its capacity.

I think if or when paramount builds the Addams Family coaster I think it will go behind the FOF building because that little strip of land by RT pond is too small.
