SonofBaconator
What’s something, and it doesn’t have to be a ride, that you would’ve been excited for years ago but not now? For me it’s anything from Mack. Not that Mack isn’t a good company, and I would be grateful for the park to get anything from them at this point, I don’t think I would be as excited now as I would’ve been years ago. Maybe it’s because in the mid 2010s there was more hype around rides like Helix, Blue Fire, and such. With the late Cedar Fair not purchasing anything from Mack between Copperhead Strike and the merger, the personal hype died off somewhat. johnjniehaus
B&M - they are a great manufacturer but at what point do they fall into the trap arrow did where every park already has one? 10 years ago I was excited about B&M but these days, their rides are still good and reliable but they are not pushing the boundaries in the unique experience department. The trend of these B&M family coasters, reminds me of when arrow decided they wanted to build wild mice....
Hawaiian Coasters 325
A dive coaster. 8th grade me was excited about the addition of Valravn bc I had never been on a dive coaster before. Now however, I just don't find them that exciting as a thrilling multi launch would be.

I've only felt this on Iron Menace at Dorney, but it ruined the whole ride because it was rough, but smooth at the same time. It was weird, but definitely a disappointment. I would be more excited now for a Mack than I would have been a few years ago. They arguably made the two best new rides of 2024 and are safely in the top-tier of coaster manufacturers now. But I'll echo what others say about B&M. They are just the boring, safe manufacturer now and their quality appears to have gone downhill. Also: S&S. I was interested in where they take things and its only been disappointing.
Shawn Meyer
Twenty-five years ago when I was in High School, I thought the introduction of the GIGA roller coaster was the coolest thing. I was excited to go around telling everyone what was happening in the roller coaster world. Now in days, people are like woopy do!

B&M used to be king, but now others are rising to the top, Vekoma, Mack, and S&S are all moving up the ranks. Intamin is Intamin, so they will probably always stay the same. As for RMC, I don't know what to say. They aren't coming out with any new things, just the Hybrid and the Raptor. Nobody really bought the Wild Moose idea, so they only have a few options. They're working on YoY and the Raptor at Lost Island, but other than that, they aren't doing much.

To me personally, X-Flight at Six Flags Great America has the worst vibration of any B&M coaster I've ridden provided I haven't ridden iron menace. Firebird at Six Flags America beats the crap out of your ears so I wouldn't even call that a rattle but rather an ear basher. By far the worst B&M I've ridden. That's the issue/trick with innovation is you have to find a park to buy the ride ...

I get RMC is trying to break into another sector of the coaster industry by building family rides, but I feel like the market is already so over saturated. They just got to keep trying until they find something that all parks want. If you look at Vekoma, they haven't been one of the top manufacturers (Intamin and B&M at the top). But, they are quickly rising to those top tier manufacturers. Vekoma's catalog is much larger than RMC's. Not all of their models took off, but they eventually struck gold with the new family coaster model (Ex. Big Bear Mountain) and the new gen Tilt Coaster (Ex. Circuit Breaker and Siren's Curse). RMC needs to take a page out of Vekoma's book and keep trying with new models. Allen Schilke was a leader in RMC and sense he left, they have kind of dropped off. Not everything will be a winner, but you got to keep trying. So, this is my answer to the topic: I would have loved to get an RMC at KI a couple of years ago and I still think it would be a great addition, but it needs to be good enough. Not something like New Texas Giant or Railblazer, but something that would become a top-tier attraction at KI. Realistically though, the family coaster is what they will go with, and I must accept that. Too bad though, I got so excited with the Son of Beast crate that was found during the Haunt! There is still that part of me that has hope...
