Losantiville Mining Co.
Has anyone else been doing the Come Out And Play scavenger hunt? The park has been advertising it at the front gate and on the new video boards, but there hasn't been much conversation about it. I've only been able to find 2 of the 4 ducks. They also seem to be placed far enough from the path as to not be snatched by someone but are a little too far out of reach for me to scan them without either stepping in a planter or reaching my phone through a fence. The "prizes" seem to just be filters for TikTok and Snapchat, but I really want to go find all of them. I'll put what I know in a spoiler below in case anyone is trying to do it on your own. Spoiler The first QR code to scan can be found on A-frame signs at the front gate or on most of the new video boards around the park. The clue says you will find the first duck near the family area. The A-frames didn't exist when I first scanned it so I had to wait for the ad reel to completely cycle before being able to scan it again. The second QR code is in the front of the Camp Snoopy planter near the Diamondback Refresh Station. The clue says you will find the second duck near the ride that goes round and round. I had to step a little into the planter (on a dead patch, presumably from others trying to get it) in order for my phone to scan the code. The third QR code is near the entrance to Shake, Rattle, & Roll to the left of the sign. The clue says you will find the third duck near the tallest ride in the park. I had to reach my phone through the fence (not a lock-out fence, just one to keep the queue out of the grass) to scan this code. When we first read "round and round" our immediate thought was that it could be near either the Grand Carousel or near Zephyr. Not very helpful when there are more than a few other rides that also go round and round. It might've even said "round and round and round" to have that "3" embedded in the clue, but I don't think most guests would get the Troika=3 connection from that. I haven't been able to find the other two ducks (I think there are four total). We couldn't tell which "tallest" ride it was referring to. Orion is Kings Island's tallest coaster while other rides are physically taller. I'll have to work harder this weekend to figure out where the last ducks are. I have a few suggestions for the team at Six Flags if they should decide to do this again next year and in the future. Realistically, I think guests should be able to accomplish this in one night with only a basic understanding of the park. Change up the object for the scavenger hunt and hide the old ducks in the mazes. This will give the event(s) some easter eggs that can add to the guest experience at no added cost. Make the objects and QR codes larger and/or place them closer to the pathways. If you are worried about them being taken then attach them to something. This will also give them a little more presence in each location. Unintentionally requiring guests to step in planters or reach their phone through a fence is not the best course of action. Send someone around to complete it and see what they do. If they have to do anything like I did, fix the issue. Make the clues at least a little more understandable. There may only be one set of clues for all parks this is at, but I'm sure there are enough rides that all parks have that you can do this better. I bet most other people think of a Carousel when they hear about a ride going "round and round". Don't place the pieces in the same spots next year. Introduce a small completion prize for anyone who finds everything. Anything from a sticker to a little 3D printed duck (or whatever the next item will be) would be better than a Snapchat filter. You might be able to get away with the prize being 10% off merch or food. People are more likely to post about "Hey look I got this cool sticker" than they are about "I was encouraged to violate a code of conduct and all I got was this TikTok filter". The physical item could also encourage other guests to go around more of the park and look for everything. Even having some of those implemented would probably help improve the scavenger hunt. But what do I know, I'm just a guest who already gave them my time and money.
KIghostguy
The scavenger hunt makes no sense. The short film was made as a way to drive people to attend Halloween at a Six Flags park. However, if you are doing the scavenger hunt tied in with the film...you already are at the park. So, what is the point?
Losantiville Mining Co.
Quick updates on Haunt before the last weekend of the event this year: I finally completed the scavenger hunt and will have the locations in the spoiler box below. Spoiler Scan the QR code on the scavenger hunt A-frame near the front gate to begin. Duck #1: In the Camp Snoopy sign planter. This one is hard to reach with your phone. Duck #2: Near Shake, Rattle & Roll's sign. This one requires you to stick your phone through a queue line fence. Duck #3: On the south side of the Eiffel Tower near the new alcohol stand. This one is relatively easy to scan. Duck #4: To the left of the Bandstand in the planter. Much like duck #1, you may need to step on some dead flowers. Overall I think the scavenger hunt could use a lot of work alongside making the completion "prize" something more tangible than a few digital filters (like a small custom sticker). See my comments above for what I think they should do to improve it. On 10/20/2025 at 5:48 PM, KIghostguy said: The scavenger hunt makes no sense. So, what is the point? It very much feels like someone said "This could be something for guests to do!" and then they proceeded to put $20 into the actual implementation at each park. I'm almost certain that the clues were the same for every park as well. Much to nobody's surprise, the Fall Events map still has not been posted to Kings Island's website. It seems this is yet another simple nicety that fell through the gaps of Six Flags' famously bad quality control. The Haunted Attractions Pass looked like it generated a better profit than not charging for the mazes, and definitely contributed to lower wait times. I hope we can see a better overall event next year and in the future!
rexpostal
If they keep adding a house each year as good as Order of the Dragon, the event will be better overall every year. Fingers crossed!

Fingers crossed! Agree, they've hit a homerun with Order of the Dragon. Knott's scary farm level theming and scares. No other Haunts outside of Knott's can do that.
Tr0y
Noon closures this weekend for Haunt. What’s the best place to take a nap at for the all nighter at the park? https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1bCm2yBEfH/?mibextid=wwXIfr
ReedObsessor
I feel like discussing something that hasn't been discussed in this forum as far as I know: the music. I actually went to Cedar Point last month (it's a long story, and I wanted my TT2 and SC rides). When I was there, I got curious about the music and used Google to identify tracks. With the exception of the intro, which used a remix of Crazy Train, I found that most of the music came from Midnight Syndicate. I researched them, and found that their music was often used across major amusement park chains, and that there were times that the duo performed live at Cedar Point. (BTW, I opted not to go to the Conjuring thing there). My parents decided to go with me last weekend to the KI Haunt. It seemed like the music there was quite different, with more traditional songs. The fountain played instrumental music, but my app indicated a different source: Rok Nardin. Some tracks included Rumbling, Apocalypse, and Destroyer of Worlds (the first two seem to be inspired by Attack on Titan). I've been building a Halloween playlist on Spotify, and both Midnight Syndicate and Rok Nardin are part of it. Have you heard any other notable Halloween music at Kings Island? (BTW, we did do the Conjuring there, and I ended up carrying Annabelle)
Losantiville Mining Co.
I haven't been noticing the music too much this year, but I do remember wishing there were some older songs mixed in there. There are some specific tracks that used to play every night (I can't remember what they were called) that I think suited the event very well. The Darkest Day from Independence Day, Main Title from A Nightmare on Elm Street, and a couple of others I can’t remember off the top of my head.
