Camp Cedar becomes Jellystone Park Cincinnati

Big news for the area near KI as Camp Cedar is now going to be Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Cincinnati! This honestly is a good idea and a very nice nostalgia throwback to the old KI Campground that I believe was also operated by Jellystone!

Now if they could only add tent sites (somewhere) that are not more expensive that the Quality Inn rooms across the street.

KI operated the campground themselves. According to Wikipedia, Jellystone is operated on a franchise system and is a division of Sun Communities (the same Sun that operates Lake Rudolph in Santa Claus, Indiana, though I think Sun Outdoors might be a separate division)

Love Camp Cedar. We rent a cottage at least once a summer for a staycation. Excited for these changes and to have a bit of HB back in our KI experience.

This move is somewhat on brand with how the timeline of this resort. I have my own opinions of it, having a hospitality background.

There’s a reason why Cedar Fair never built/acquired any hotels/resorts when they bought KI..

Are we allowed to know that reason? I assume it has something to do with either Great Wolf Lodge or Cedar Fair's handling of hotels, but I'm genuinely interested either way.
