silver2005 Posted March 30 Posted March 30 So alas, I have my summer schedule figured out. I am committing to a Missouri trip in late July, plus, I'll be including TR's for my CP and MIA trip, and hopefully I get myself to KK this season as well. This is the furthest west in the US I've been in a while. Everything in Missouri will be new to me, so, as always, tips are welcome. Here's the likely plan of things. CP and MIA- Leave Cincy 6/13, MIA on 6/14, go to Sandusky 6/15, CP on 6/16 and 6/17. Will be spending some time re-exploring Muskegon and Port Clinton/Sandusky as well. Missouri Trip- This trip is contingent on the Reds as I want to see a game in St Louis, and with the way my band schedule works and the fact the Reds have a weekend series right after my last band concert of the summer in late July, I will be starting in St Louis, then go to KC, then end in Branson. For St Louis, along with SFStL, I will be exploring downtown. The City Museum and the Arch are high on the priority list. KC will likely be short and sweet just for WoF. I do want to ask about Branson. Is it as attraction dense as G-burg/PF? Also, for a first timer, is SDC a 1 or 2 day park on for weekday visits? I can do Dollywood in a day, but I'm infinitely more familiar with it than SDC. 1 Quote
silver2005 Posted March 31 Author Posted March 31 I think I got the dates for Missouri lined up- July 23 or 24-26- St Louis July 27-28- KC July 29-Aug 1- Branson I am now leaning hard for 2 days for SDC, especially upon being surprised how cheap Reds @ Cardinals tickets are. EDIT: I don't want to jinx anything, but assuming everything I plan on riding is open at the time of my visits, I will be getting to 200 coasters ridden this summer. SDC will be my last new park, so it'll happen there. 1 Quote
silver2005 Posted April 11 Author Posted April 11 This is very good news for me. https://www.facebook.com/ACEEasternGreatLakes/posts/pfbid0yeMPy4YbTgWaGxFQvSrwDrGDAxLsZSv6PVLba3Lqw7hEpG1P4bU8VTBVsPQtsosGl Quote
silver2005 Posted 20 hours ago Author Posted 20 hours ago There's a good chance these trips get massively cut. I don't think I can deal with gas prices for all this. At the bare minimum, I'll try to keep Cedar Point and SDC. 1 Quote
Losantiville Mining Co. Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago Oh the things I'd do for an electric car and some solar panels at home right now. I'd really like to make it out to SFSL this season to go snag one of the last park-branded magnets or shirts (I did the same with Six Flags America), but between gas prices and the lack of meal plans I think my group's trip plans have also gone from maybe to probably not. WoodVengeance Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Kroger has a coupon for 4x fuel points if you shop there on Fridays. I’m going to start hoarding fuel points for my Virginia trip in June. Quote
DJSkyFoxx Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Yeah...these gas prices really have me looking at EVs right now and that's something I never ever thought I would do! Not that I'd pull the trigger any time soon, but if gas gets to some even higher astronomical price, it may not be window shopping anymore 🙃 Also St. Louis is a lot of fun! I've been wanting to make a return trip out there to make some new fresh memories. Their zoo is amazing, but definitely huge and requires a full day to really take it all in. The sculpture park is fun and interesting. Their science museum is rad. Tons of great food to be had all around. Honestly, I'd rather just spend the day hanging out and doing St. Louis stuff rather than go to SFSL. Far too much to see and do outside of that park. Quote
silver2005 Posted 4 hours ago Author Posted 4 hours ago I might do the zoo. The plan with St Louis is to do museums and the arch on Friday, Reds/Cardinals game on Saturday and SFStL on Sunday. May do the zoo Saturday as the game is a night game. KC will be simple, just exploring downtown and WoF. Leaving St Louis very early. I'm somewhat contemplating a day and a half at SDC and exploring Branson a bit. I'm also looking forward to doing BBQ in St Louis and KC. Also also, expressing my discontent with the Chiefs. 😉 Quote
