I really like FoF.  Actually, I like FoF after they removed over the shoulder restraints.  Very nice theming as well as funny queue video.  I once had a rollback on KI FoF.

Yeah, I was excited too when they switched to lap bar restraints. As a kid, I would bang my head on those over the shoulder restraints. Happy birthday/anniversary to Flight of Fear. 

I waited around 4 hours for FoF on a summer evening back in June of 1996. I had driven down from Columbus after work soon after it opened, thinking a weekday evening wouldn’t be too bad. The line stretched all the way down Coney Mall and wrapped around past Vortex!

The rumors going into the official announcement was that the ride was going to be Star Trek themed around the DS9 wormhole. I still think that would have been a much better theme 😀

It’s weird to think that was the very first LIM launching coaster and was absolutely cutting edge at the time—now it seems like the majority of new coasters built are launchers (of one technology or another) 🙂

I was assigned to be a ride operations team lead at Flight of Fear this season; I wanted to celebrate its 30th Anniversary so I built the new alien at the end of the ride. The two (then one) old aliens that sat there were very crusty and old, basically falling apart as they sat there. The new alien is entirely 3D printed, I didn't model the alien itself, but I made modifications to make the head turn left and right. The head turning is very subtle as you ride by, but I can assure you it does move.

If you're wondering about the old aliens, I kept them around in backstage areas of FOF for a few weeks before people above me took them and threw them out (to be fair we were wasting time messing around with them).

I’m on the boat that would totally jump onboard the idea of Premier doing a total retrack, trains, support treatment so we can have this ride around 30+ more years!
