Legend Rider
I wonder how the constrction of Gobbler Getaway is going. From what I have heard... 0% complete on construction lol
TheKlockster
Construction will be commenced after a large turkey dinner at which the first gobbler will get away and canobiefan would be unbanned.

LMAO Um... No, I heard that like Voyage, it is kinda still in developmental stages... but it will have multiple PLCs I have heard. I dont think they have said whether it will be tracked or non-tracked, non-tracked is super neat and innovative... this will have some kind of lap bars, individual lapbars, not PKI SDATHC style... TheKlockster
OMFG TURKEY CALL! Multiple PLCs? Hmm I know of other rides with multiple logic controllers... I can't believe they just randomly decided to add something to the Voyage. Maybe theyll take out an airtime hill and do something innovative. I mean on that latest pic you posted, it looks like theres only one airtime hill, and the big crane is gone... To add something, that means somethign else is being taken out - which means that it will probably have less airtime. Like maybe 20 seconds of air instead of 24 or whatever it was. But I am happy - I would rather see a kick ass layout than a little bit of airtime.
Legend Rider
thats because the yellow/orange crane is about 135 foot tall... nothing else is that tall on the ride The initial 3 hills are set in stone, or rather, cement.
Legend Rider
All info from Will Koch and Podcast: In the North turn around, on back end... in the area of the 90 degrees, 2 options... 1> move it down the ride and add a mid sized slope... 2>put in a 3rd 90 degree banked section... basically a 1/2 roll, since the new one will be placed about 100 foot after the first!! He picked Choice #2!! New Info... Phases: 1: Mega Hills 2: Station and local area 3: Tunnel Area 4: Turn Around Tunnel 1 is finished, or close enough... Tunnel 5 poured, setting cap this week Excavating and Pouring in 3. Lots of track is done Footerwork to be done by X-mas... and the Voyage done by March!! Some mechanical work should begin as soon as January, since that is when the Voyage's Station house will be completed... Testing in April! Tunnel 4 is a part of the station, one wall currently done, other to be done as station is built... as you walk in, you will walk over top of Tunnel #4, and a clear portion to look down into tunnel #4... in addition, you go down a set of stairs, 3 levels to it, lowest level is a view into the tunnel, a clear plexiglass wall to see into it!! Section of tunnel visible from gift shop and photo building... designing the new food service location and it will have some fantastic views of Voyage Buildings being built now: Pepsi Oasis, and Bathroom... its one building!! Bahari River has begun construction This is presumably all of the new stuff for the Voyage... ...Now you all know!!

TheKlockster
OMFG LIEK THATS SO AWESOM3! It will be kind of cool if its 90 degree banked one way, then goes to 90 the other way - like half of a heartline roll... I would rather see it go all the way though. TheKlockster
Any idea if they are just building the structure, or have they started installing the electrical stuff (like proximity sensors and limit switches and photo eyes and the motor)? And have they installed the lift chain or brakes yet? Or even put the running rails on the track?
Legend Rider
No Rails, the station is Phase 2, Phase 2 is about 1/2 way done, the station now goes vertical, when it does, it will have all of the electrical stuff going onto it, the only concern right now is to get the tunnels in the ground before it freezes... you kinda cant do any digging in icy ground. However, tunnels are almost done being excavated. the third hill is well under way... I am just hoping the camera will be repositioned soon, that way we can see Phase 4 being built... Remember, 1 is hills, 2 is station, 3 is tunnels, & 4 is north turn arounds Phase 1, is almost done!!

Legend Rider
Oops... message had a flaw... sorry... Notice anything about this train that is not typical of most PTC trains? Anyone? Anyone at all? Perhaps the Gold Trim and placards. Also, the Voyage will feature a new PTC type of Seat Divider, which was prototyped on Raven this past year, maybe to be expanded to all PTC trains in the park... they are seemingly better for cheking the seatbelts for the kids that are a bit skinny... yeah, they tug on them. I can't wait to be in that seat!! I got a really early season ride on Raven's new train, and well, it's just not broken in yet... the old one was really flying in October!! Legend Rider
I love the shot of Will and his Mom that is priceless. Indeed, however, though they look goofy there... and as they are very entertaining people, they also can do some mean bargaining... just think... this was the family that put together a themepark in the middle of a cornfield, called santa claus, which was formerly called santa fe indiana... TheKlockster
I don't know what to think about Voyage anymore. It sounds incredible especially with the new addition - but so does KY Rumbler. That is two kick ass coasters I will have to try next year! I still maintain that those 3 hills in the beginning of the ride look cool - but totally dont impress me. The park needs to focus the camera on the good part of the ride.

TheKlockster
I have to agree I LOVE DDR - and would love to see it at Holiday World. Whether or not it would be a success is not really the point. It is an arcade game... Whether its DDR or a Cruisin World - its going to bring money in. I think alot of people would like to see DDR though.
