See Iam planning my trip to PKI in late may and was wanting to get as much info on NU so I can tell my family about NU so my little cousins will know what to expect. CoastersRZ
Be patient. PKI will release details and renderings of the new NU, after WinterFest is over. I believe, as I stated in an earlier post, that they will release the information sometime in January (although the exact date is anybody`s guess). I would imagine they will divulge some information at No Coaster Con up in Chicago.
SOB_TOM
Wow, jumping to conclusions and you havent seen anything yet. Be patient people. PKI may let us down every once in awhile, but at least give em a chance!

kjkjkj
are the yogi's sky tours staying or getting demolished and if they stay what are they going to be themed as. I hated thos stupid things i hope they are demolished waiting 3 hours for my first ride on them when i was little and they turn out to be a slow wear my little legs out peddeling j/k
CoastersRZ
Yes, the Sky Tours ride deisgned by Caripro will be staying, as far as I know. And secondly, I think that ride is a neat little ride that can be enjoyed by parents and their children, which fits in with the direction the park wants with NU. (Although I`ve heard those cars are saunas on typical Cincinnati Summer afternoons! I wouldn`t know as I`ve never been on that ride. Also, I don`t believe that you have to pedal (they are elctrically powered). Pedaling simply makes the cars go faster.
kjkjkj
i know but the peddling made more fun, i was joking about it being dumb i thought it was a cool ride a long time ago......

Reclaimer
They're known as the LazyTownâ„¢ Sporticopters at Carowinds now that they've been Nickified.
Gordon Bombay
The pedaling does not make them go any faster, they are allcontrolled by the rides computer.

TheKlockster
The pedaling does not make them go any faster, they are allcontrolled by the rides computer. I felt so bad one time. These people rode Skytours, and the kid asked if you had to pedal - and I said yeah - you know, just joking around - it makes most parents laugh as their kid starts pedaling like mad, and tuckers out around the first turn... Well, apparently this one kid pedaled like mad the entire way cause he was scared it would stall. When he got back, he was exhausted and really upset. The mother was irate and yelled at me for making her kid do unnecessary work, and "scaring her kid to death". I mean most kids love it - and they feel proud of themselves or something. They come back and you say - did you have fun - and theyre like YEAH! But not this kid. I guess you can't please everyone.

King Bowser
I always tell the kids(mine and my nephews) they have to pedal or the ride will stall and we will be stuck so I got/get a free ride over HBL & Nick Central.Yeah its mean but kids need to be tired noone wants to bring there kids home from PKI all hyped up! TheKlockster
Most kids like doing it too - and feel accomplished when they make it back.
matth
The pedaling does not make them go any faster, they are allcontrolled by the rides computer. If you are such a genius on the Caripro intelligent pedal car ride then answer this; Where is "the rides computer"? If the pedals do nothing then why are they there? Lastly, what makes it so "intelligent" if the pedals do nothing? ..matt
TheKlockster
Do they do something? I always told parents they were just there to give the kids something to do. I will admit though that I don't know for sure. What I do know is that they will go on their own with nobody even in the car - let alone pedaling. RailRider
The peddals do absolutely nothing. Just like whipping the horse on the carosel. The ride goes no slower or faster. Like they would really want to let a little kid control the speed of the ride around the track, but the kids dont know the pedals dont work. Also has to be one of the hotest rides during the summer enclosed in that plastic buble. Hate that ride, but darn the niece and nephew love it. TheKlockster
If they did nothing - I don't think Matt would have made an ass out of us. I know he knows alot about the ride - I saw him there one day working on it.
matth
This is getting more and more off topic, but from 1998-about july 2005 the pedals did make the cars go faster. Infact the program allowed the cars to run at any speed between a range, the cars' control system also had a flaw that caused them to stop on the track at random after about 6 years of usage (PM or e-mail me if you want a detailed description of why this happened.) A new program was written for a different park and I modified it for use on our ride, however, the pedals were left out of the program intentionally so that the cars would always come back into the station with the same distance between them. Theoretically the ride should also get better capacity because of the cars always running at "full" speed. ..matt
deidre1976
I thought that peddling made the propellers on top spin faster, watch them
TheKlockster
Ok - I know for a fact that is wrong. I would usually flick the propellers to make them spin, as the cars left the station. But they would stop eventually.
