Favorite defunct rides?

Featured Replies

Mine will always be Smurf's Enchanted Voyage. I always had a fondness for the Flying Dutchman and Winnie Witches Calduron (I think that is what it was called)

I thought Flight Commander was cool too even though I refused to let my rocket go upside down. I loved the line queue.

I'll have to go with King Cobra. I really miss that ride, and the air time, that the stand-up coaster gave ya.

As all of you know my fav ride will always be The Smurfs Enchanted Voyage I loved it I loved the theming outside&Inside Iam a SmurfFan so yup.Iam sending Pics of the Smurfs Enchanted Voyage to dane today so look at the site later.

While The Bat was good (and yes, I did ride it), I will always miss Skylab. Much like Delirium now, Skylab was fun to watch and ride. Yeah, there are other Enterprise rides still around, but Skylab was bigger and really made an impact.

The name says it all. Flight Commander, too, if only for the awesome queue.

Flight Commander

I (waaa) never rode The Bat. 3 summers and each time it was down. :censored:

PHANTOM THEATER.

It was the most awesome dark ride in the world outside of Disney. I wish they'd bring it back. Think they'll sell it elsewhere?

Have a great day!

Italian Chef

:chef:

They could sell the rights, but as far as equipment, some of it has been used for Fright Nights.

And we all know about the cars.

I will miss the rides that i never got to experiance the thrill of or dont remember what it was like. For example I rode but do not remember flight commander and King cobra but I did like cobra and dont even remember Commander. But the rides i will never get to experiance like The Bat and the demon and the kegger and winny witches.... i just wish i would have got to experiance the thrill of those rides...espicially The Bat

I have 3 favs:

1.The Smurfs Enchanted Voyage(Loved it as a child)

2.Scrappy's Slide( Had lots of fun on it!)

3.Kentons Cove Keelboat Canal(The Coolest water ride that was in the park!)

I always had a fondness for the Flying Dutchman

I rode the heck out of the Flying Dutchman as a kid. Now I am 31 years old and I still hold that ride near and dear to my heart! I got a chance to ride the very same one that was at KI just a few weeks ago!

I also have a fondness for this ride. I felt like the biggest goof since I was the ONLY one on it , but after I told the ride op about it, he understood what I was doing. He even snapped my picture with it!

See!!!

Sad, I know!

Now if I can just get some park to buy King Cobra.....

Ever Onward,

Bill

If your talking about my pictures, those were taken about 3 weeks ago down at SFKK. Thanks for the compliment?

WoW looks like we have a lotta people that love the Smurfs Enchanted Voyage!

King Cobra will always be King!

Mine would have to be The Bat. I was fortunate to have been on it. It was fast and furious. Although, I miss a lot of the old rides that used to be there like Bayern Curve, The Screamin' Demon (it was the first coaster I rode that had an inversion and went backwards), Flight Commander, Der Spinnin' Keggers and the Bavarian Beetle. Oh, let's not forget the Rotor. That ride used to trip me out.

This was my favorite ride as well. I tried to embrace the haunted whatever tour thing that took it's place, but nothing could really equal the smurf ride, imho. (That's what brought me here, actually... a search for info/pics/music from the smurf ride)

King Cobra, and for this reason only, the whole ride is still on park property! (in pieces in 3 differerent locations, but on park property none the less)

Phamtom Theatre... can't believe they removed it!

A close second would be the Flight Commander.
