I wish I would have known cause I would have surly rode it one last time in 01. I even worked at the park in 2001, and they didn't say anything to us. So who knows. One of the 3 towers snapped the first winter (2002) due to a condition called 'Vortex shedding'. You can read about it here. Making money is one thing, but riders' safety is a horse of a different color. I'm sure if it does happen it won't be because of money (both trips I've taken to KI there have been people sitting in a full queue for Sling Shot). The video in question is a video of a Sling Shot ride that only uses seat belts on not an actual restraint bar like on ours. A overweight kid slide down out of seat but not out of the ride.
