Invertigo: The Next To Go?

That is true, but I'd still like to see another stand-out coaster beyond Vortex's replacement and more attractions that the entire family can handle -

I wouldn't be so quick on the Warner Bros. Discovery naming schemes. They are currently looking to un-merge and become separate Warner Bros. and Discovery Global again in 2026. I can't recall which company would get which properties, but I think the DC characters and licenses will stay with Warner Bros. while the Looney Tunes properties may go with either. I fear that any changes beyond new signage and paint will only lead to the area having less trees and awful appearances. -

Not that ChatGPT is always right LOL, but I asked it which is more popular LOL: When comparing the popularity of Peanuts and Looney Tunes, it really depends on the context — whether you're talking about cultural impact, revenue, or fan base. Looney Tunes: These characters (like Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, and Tweety Bird) are more ingrained in global pop culture. Since its creation in the 1930s, Looney Tunes has expanded across countless TV shows, movies, video games, theme parks, and merchandise. Its vibrant, slapstick humor has had an enduring appeal to both kids and adults worldwide. The franchise is a staple in animation history. Peanuts: Charles Schulz's Peanuts, which features Charlie Brown, Snoopy, and the gang, has a different kind of cultural impact. It's much more grounded and often thought of for its heartwarming, sometimes melancholic, messages. Peanuts is widely loved, especially around holidays like Christmas and Thanksgiving (thanks to the iconic A Charlie Brown Christmas and It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown specials). The strip itself ran for decades and left a huge mark on the comic world, though in terms of global brand recognition, it’s slightly less in-your-face than Looney Tunes. In terms of sheer recognition and reach, Looney Tunes might take the lead globally, especially considering its continuous presence in pop culture and merchandising. - Today

Pantherian at KD not opening until summer

So Pantherian did reopen, but according to a few KD fan pages on Facebook, allegedly, its shredding the new Intamin wheels and the water system may be failing. -

Let's give the KI landscape team a shout out! From the webcam, the bed in front of The Royal Fountain has looked great all season. The elephant ears they recently put out look awesome in my opinion. -

I came up with this idea since Six Flags owns the rights to Warner Bros properties. Instead of just having looney toons take over the kids area, make it a full on WB Discovery World. Think Nickelodeon Universe where it wasn't just one show IP, it was the whole brand. It also would bring back nostalgia since Scooby Doo is part of this. Maybe Scooby and the gang return to the Haunted Castle? -
I think all the bathrooms need an overhaul, especially the AC units.

I have to hard disagree with anyone saying Peanuts is more popular than Looney Tunes. I think around here we see so much Peanuts stuff that it is a little bit of a confirmation bias. -
if it’s cheap and it’s dirty people will feel even less likely to take care of it. It’s a self fulfilling cycle.

Kings Island Halloween Haunt 2025 Discussion
shark6495 replied to Losantiville Mining Co.'s topic in Kings Island
I’m split on this. The KI haunts and mazes were great for the kids because they were not the scariest and because of the large crowd the kids saw the scares coming. if they don’t upgrade the way they do it, it’s going to be a hard pass for me on paying to walk through a cattle call maze. -

Has anyone contacted the park to address this & get an official response? And if so, what was their response? I don't like to speculate. -
Families have comprised the majority of the park’s annual attendance since 1972.

Kings Island to add “family thrill” attraction in 2026
Cedar Fair Fanboy replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island
It doesn't make sense that there's a pardon our mess wall here if they're building a new haunt here. And I think there will be a Madhouse inside. -
I only enjoy FunTV during Haunt. Those clips from Night of the Living Dead and Carnival of Souls really hit the spot while waiting for The Beast.

I'd assume any agreement they have would either include a clause either allowing time to remove all of the branded theming/characters or one stipulating that the business may continue to run any rides using those characters until the end of the operating day on the specified date. Since the park's NYE operating day would technically still be ongoing for those wee hours on New Year's Day, they'd likely have the ability to at least run some things. They might run into issues for parks that stay open until January 4th (or around then), but there may even be a clause allowing usage until the end of the park's operating season. It all depends on what the contract says about the transition between IPs. Taking down a sign is easy, but they are not going to do that while the park is in operation and the area(s) is (are) open. The license agreement with the Nickelodeon characters would have allowed them to be used beyond 2010, but Cedar Fair chose to end it early. Rights-holders may be super-picky about their IPs, but I doubt anyone involved in this most recent Cedar Fair (now Six Flags)/Peanuts licensing agreement would have allowed it to be so strict about having IP areas closed/removed by midnight on the date the license ends. -
Invertigo: The Next To Go?

Who knows, it might be a great place to install the new* Riddler's Revenge! *Actually about 50 years old and relocated from Six Flags America, America's most recently closed amusement park. It would also be unfortunate because Kings Island was already lacking a little on the other end in terms of things that non-riders can do. If the chain wants to keep it as strictly a family park, why aren't they installing more family attractions that the whole family (including grandparents) can enjoy at once? The KI & MV RR, the Grand Carousel, KMAA, and Boo Blasters are pretty much the only four attractions at the park that I would feel good taking my grandparents on. Add the five shows (with some that don't even run most of the normal season) and that's only nine things for older/non-rider family members to do. That's a market Kings Island could play into more that they aren't. There's also the argument that the park needs 1-2 more super thrilling, stand-out coasters in its lineup beyond the imperceivable Vortex replacement. Families can come to the park all they'd like, but when those kids get to the age where they are looking for a place to go, they won't find as high intensity coasters as they'd like at Kings Island. -
Frankly I'm amazed ours has lasted as long as it has given the fate of other inverted Boomerangs.

If they don't renew the Peanuts license, I'd expect to see visible signs of rebranding during Winterfest. The current Peanuts license is good through December 31, 2025. The park is open until midnight that day and there will undoubtedly be some kind of new years celebration - meaning guests will still be in the park after the clock strikes midnight, and that's a problem for the licensing. One would assume that if guests are in the park, they cannot be using IP in an unlicensed way. And yes, rights-holders are absolutely that picky about their IPs. At minimum, I'd expect the Planet Snoopy entry sign to be stripped of any Snoopy references by end of day on December 31st. Presumably if they close that area and remove the one piece of signage visible from I-Street they're more likely to be OK from an IP rights perspective. If that's the route they go, it could conceivably stay up through the end of December 30th. Doesn't take very long to take down a sign. -

I’ve heard somewhere that the lift cable for the first lift was completely cut/snapped during an evacuation. I don’t know how true this is, but explains the extended downtime and makes sense for the park to remove it instead of fixing it considering it’s low capacity and downtime (I would suspect if they chose to quietly remove a ride, this would probably be one of their top 3 that fit the criteria they seem to have). But hopefully it doesn’t close, especially if it’s unexpectedly, because that means people would be complaining about “the Invertigo plot” for the next 10+ years. Invertigo? Yeah, I hope it invertistays!

I saw that. Hopefully it’s not what it looks like, but i wouldn’t be surprised. Since 2018. That would be a net negative 2 rollercoasters for Kings Island (not counting SSBR). Not a good look. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Photos have popped up on social media showing crews removing items from Invertigo's station with what looks to be a dumpster on or near a path in front of the coaster. Is Invertigo the next ride on the chopping block? I'll admit the photos appear to be from a known poster (I saw them second-hand in a cropped screenshot), but I would not put it past this company to remove a coaster mid-season with no warning. The temporary fence could itself soon be replaced by a more permanent fence if this turns out to be more than just some temporary movement. Do you think this movement around Invertigo is a sign of it's imminent removal, or is it simply a mid-season temporary closure like we've seen for White Water Canyon and Snoopy's Space Buggies?
