  1. The biggest issue I saw with the SRL on Sunday is that they kept running out of the Single Rider passes at the entrance, so they'd have to close the SRL temporarily until someone at the station brought the passes back down. They either need more passes or a better system.
  2. Will be interesting to see how it survives this year, but the prices are still a bit high - especially because the cutoff age for "children" is 10. What parent wants to pay full price for a 10-year-old?
  3. yeah i wanted to see what it looked like haha So that was you in a black T-shirt?
  4. Nice response time from the admins... I reported one of his posts and less than 20 minutes later, they're gone
  5. Care to put that in terms that we can understand? I looked up "put" on Wikipedia and still have no clue what it is
  6. I thought those were bumblebees, but either way, I just do my best to leave them alone. I figure I won't get stung as long as I don't bother them.
  7. Apparently there was a Ferris Wheel in the Oktoberfest area at one time. Not sure when it was removed or for what reason. An Intamin Giant Wheel would be a nice addition to the park. It has enclosed, air-conditioned gondolas with room for 6 people and excellent capacity (theoretical hourly capacity of 1250 for the 78m (256ft) model according to Intamin). Just get rid of Euro Bungy and you have a great spot to put something like that.
  8. My shirts are on the way. Haven't decided if I'm going to do iron-on letters or not. I've considered just finding one of those stick-on "Hello, My Name Is..." name-tags instead, but I should be fairly easy to spot. I'll be wearing a red, white and black Cincinnati Bearcats hat with a gray bearcat on the left side and "Bearcats Cincinnati" on the brim.
  9. The ride formerly known as Tomb Raider: The Ride at Canada's Wonderland bears absolutely no resemblance to what is now called The Crypt at KI. Theirs was a Zamperla Volare flying coaster which is now called Time Warp.
  10. There was no splashdown at the end of BLSC and no water to be seen in that pit (save for a stray puddle or two). The geese seemed to be quite happy hanging out around the front of the fountain. The lower observation deck on Eiffel Tower was open yesterday.
  11. I'm mostly concerned about Sunday. I was planning to stay the entire day on Saturday (from around 6:30am until either I'm too tired to do anything else or until they stop running Diamondback around 1am). I just can't be there until around 2pm on Sunday so I need to make sure I can still participate in some of the events.
  12. For those who have called the park already, did they say anything about how long check-in would last? Based on what's been posted already, I'm assuming that check-in will last most of the day (I wouldn't expect them to let you have ERT on Diamondback on Saturday if you get there 5 minutes before the park closes...), but I want to know for sure as I won't be able to get there until maybe 2pm on Sunday (definitely want to be there in time for the SoB tour, but due to church won't be participating in the earlier events).
  13. If they do, there's always the park-and-ride lot on Fields Ertel (one exit south of KI)...
  14. Did a little research... At riskreactor.com: $20 for a one-ounce bottle $60 for a one-pint bottle ($3.75 an ounce) $499 for a one-gallon bottle (approximately $3.89 an ounce) If those prices are anywhere near what KI paid for the ink, I can understand their decision to switch...
  15. Did anyone else find the headline of today's Cincinnati Enquirer humorous? "16K Cases Of Swine Flew"
  16. On my second ride yesterday, I was in row 16 on the left side. The guy next to me decided to turn around to look at the splashback, and got soaked. My left armpit got a little damp from the spray.
  17. Don't really want to describe my entire trip, so instead I'll just post a few photos and some highlights from my trip... Highlights and general thoughts about the trip: Didn't have to wait any longer than 20 minutes for Diamondback (Single Rider Line rules!). Overall, park guests seemed less than enthusiastic about riding things. I was really impressed with how fast Diamondback travels up the first hill and wish all the coasters went up the lift hill that fast. I really like the new estimated wait time signs and hope to see more of those popping up on some rides. Now, the pictures... Despite temps in the 60s, some people were still willing to get drenched on Congo River Falls Splashdown on Diamondback Didn't get too many photos as I was too busy riding stuff. Did take quite a few pictures of Diamondback, as well as one of Invertigo and a few more Congo River Falls shots. See http://www.flickr.com/photos/oldiesmann/se...57617578525635/ for more.
  18. I'm not into wakeboarding, but I will definitely have to drive up there to watch the fun sometime. Never ceases to amaze me what keeps popping up around here
  19. While in line for The Beast, a kid asked his dad why there were so many pennies laying on top of the water spout thingy. The father told his son that they usually have a water fountain going there, and people toss their pennies into it.
  20. Someone was out there checking passes today. I'm also surprised that there isn't a phone out there, especially if KI still has a policy of employees not being allowed to have cell phones...
  21. I noticed that the ugly green tent-like building at the end of Coney Mall is finally gone. Also, while riding Adventure Express, I saw a tram parked back by Son of Beast...
