I don't remember hearing "I Want You To Want Me" on the train... I don't have a problem at all with them playing music on the train. My complaint is the particular songs they chose - "Cotton Eye Joe", while fun, just doesn't seem to fit the atmosphere. I'd much rather hear classic country tunes, bluegrass and maybe even a few more cowboy tunes...

Google Maps gives you a different route, but it also starts you in a different spot than Mapquest does.

Local On Demand is one of well over a dozen free on demand channels. I highly recommend spending some time exploring the on demand channels, as there's a lot of good stuff there
-
Thanks for the info It's channel 1111 by the way Also, for those who don't want to spend time hunting it down, both videos are under the "Things to See" category

Just ignore the size chart and go with whatever size you normally wear. I ordered both of mine in large and am right within that range (5'10", 150lbs).

I was a bit frightened the first time I rode Beastie, but I got over it. I was only 6 at the time, and this was before they'd added seatbelts, so you actually got a little airtime going over the first hill.

Classic footage of The Bat and other KI rides
Oldiesmann replied to Oldiesmann's topic in Kings Island
While it's good to see that it's still operational, does anyone know why it was removed and sold in the first place? Wikipedia and flatrides.com both say that the ride lasted until sometime in 1992, but RCDB says AE opened in 1991, so it couldn't have been removed for AE. -
I've added a photo of me to my profile. I should be fairly easy to spot

Classic footage of The Bat and other KI rides
Oldiesmann replied to Oldiesmann's topic in Kings Island
Ok... For those familiar with older KI rides, what ride is shown starting about 15 seconds into the video? -
Found this on Youtube while looking to see if the KI commercial mentioned in another thread is out there. Really nice video...
-
We got there in early afternoon - probably around 1:00 or shortly thereafter.
-
I ordered mine this past Friday, so that's why they got here so soon.
-
When I was there on Sunday it was only a 15 to 20 minute wait, but within an hour or two the temporary queue area to the left of the building was filled and the line was much longer.
-
My shirts arrived today and both look awesome!
-
Ok. You must have been on a different ride then

Saturday should be an interesting challenge for me. Right now I'm planning to spend the entire day at KI (from whenever I get there around 6:30am until I'm too tired to do anything else or until the end of DB ERT). While staying up until 2 or 3 in the morning isn't an issue (I do it all the time), getting up at 5:30 is going to be a challenge because I'm used to sleeping in until 9 or 10.

A couple more things I noticed this past Sunday: Those playing the basketball game along the path between Rivertown and Coney Mall can pay for it with Visa or Mastercard now (there's a sticker with the cards' logos on the side of the metal box where they stick the cash). Several lights have been removed along the queue lines for BLSC and Delirium - look for concrete pads with plastic tubes sticking out of them.
-
The biggest issue I saw with the SRL on Sunday is that they kept running out of the Single Rider passes at the entrance, so they'd have to close the SRL temporarily until someone at the station brought the passes back down. They either need more passes or a better system.

Former Hard Rock Park has a new name
Oldiesmann replied to nhimes90's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Will be interesting to see how it survives this year, but the prices are still a bit high - especially because the cutoff age for "children" is 10. What parent wants to pay full price for a 10-year-old? -
The Beast didn't open until 1979...

Nice response time from the admins... I reported one of his posts and less than 20 minutes later, they're gone
