  1. Looks interesting, but it would almost have to be a pay-per-ride attraction as the capacity would be terrible. It can only hold 16 people per ride.
  2. It's a shame that so many classic rides have disappeared. I don't know if I remember Der Spinnin' Keggers, but that looks like it was a lot of fun as well.
  3. It's 6am on Saturday actually. The 7:30am only applies to Sunday.
  4. Thanks for the info. Nice pic too
  5. As long as they don't rip out any of the rides, I couldn't care less about whether or not it's themed.
  6. I was looking through the historical photos, and vaguely remember riding the Witch's Cauldrons ride. Where exactly was this located and when was it removed? I looked at the 1989 park map and it wasn't on there, so I must have been fairly young when riding it (either that or I'm remembering Der Spinnin' Keggers).
  7. 1982: HB Carousel (and some other HB rides) Viking Fury Ferris Wheel Recar
  8. I wouldn't rely on that too much just yet. A couple days ago they were saying 60% chance for the 2nd, and that's now dropped to 40%. It's really too early to accurately predict it at this point.
  9. I wouldn't mind seeing a Smoothie King at Kings Island. They have one of those where I work and I'm a frequent customer, especially during the summer (though it doesn't hurt that Newport On The Levee employees get a 20% discount there).
  10. I still call them by their old names because I'm still not used to the new names for the most part.
  11. I'm sure building a steel one would be a lot easier than trying to build a wooden one like Knoebels is. Either way it looks cool.
  12. According to Wikipedia, the one being built at Knoebels is made by Mack, a German ride manufacturer. See http://www.mack-rides.com/lang-en/c122/default.html for more info on their bob sled coaster.
  13. I personally would love to see a bobsled coaster at KI. They're not too common (Wikipedia lists 8 that area operating and an additional one that's under construction), and it looks like a lot of fun.
  14. Officially, it says "before", but you should call the park to confirm this.
  15. I also wish they'd return AE back to the way it was when it first opened - mist, jungle noises, etc. I did notice last time I rode it that most of the tiki guys at the end were working again, which is good, but it would still be better if they had all the original theming.
  16. The one thing I would like to see in the kiddy area, regardless of what theme they choose, is the return of FOC to Beastie, complete with tunnel. It was extremely popular when marketed as a miniature version of The Beast, and I think it would be best for the park to change it back to what it once was. When the kids' area was initially re-themed from HB to Nick, the coaster was left alone. I still don't understand why the park felt the need to re-theme it when the big expansion took place a few years ago.
  17. Try contacting Broadtexter about the problem (click on the "Contact Us" link at the bottom of the mobile club page).
  18. Shouldn't this be a sticky topic so it doesn't get buried?
  19. That's what I figured, but I wanted to make sure. Thanks!
  20. Due to getting the day off of work this coming Sunday (May 2nd), I am planning to make a trip up to KI to get my season pass processed and then spend the afternoon at the park. When I get there, do I just show the parking attendant my season pass receipt so I don't have to pay for parking?
  21. I haven't read all of this topic, and some of the things I would like to see have already been said, but here goes... 1. If you must give away basketballs as prizes, give them out deflated. I get so tired of people walking around the park bouncing those things and nearly getting mowed over by guests chasing after runaway basketballs. 2. Add a Wild Mouse coaster in the Coney Mall area. 3. Better enforcement of smoking restrictions. Also yell at people who feel the need to hang all over their significant other in line. 4. Offer park maps in more spots throughout the park so we don't have to walk all the way to the front entrance to get them. 5. Don't play modernized folk songs on the train. Last time I rode the train, we were treated to "Cotton Eye Joe" by Rednex and "Ghost Riders In The Sky" by the Outlaws. While I like both songs (particularly the Rednex version of "Cotton Eye Joe"), the music just isn't fitting for an old-fashioned-style train ride through a fake old-west town. It was much more enjoyable when they played bluegrass music.
  22. Enter your KIC user number in that box. if you're not sure what it is, go to your profile and look for the number after "showuser="
  23. I did a little searching, and it appears that Kings Island Resort and Conference Center is the only one that offers shuttle service.
