  1. I don't think Swiper's Sweepers will be too rough for a two-year-old. When I worked at KI back in 2005, that was one of the rides in my area, and I often saw kids as young as 1 (sometimes even younger) on that ride, and all thoroughly enjoyed it.
  2. This past Sunday I heard "First Time" by Lifehouse as I was exiting Spongebob. Although I was a bit surprised to hear it, I'm glad they played it because I'm a big fan of both that song and the band in general.
  3. Beastie/FOC hands down. Great introductory coaster for the kids, fun ride for the adults, and the original kiddie coaster. Giggle Coaster/Taxi Jam/Scooby Zoom is barely a coaster at all, and Reptar is a bit much for the younger kids.
  4. Saturday-Sunday works better for me as well.
  5. Here are a couple of shots of Son of Beast I took during the walkback. Both of these were taken using the "Widescreen" mode on my digital camera. Feel free to download these if you like them, and let me know if you need a bigger size. The original photos are 3072x1728.
  6. I seriously hope the park puts the clock back in working order. It's not so much about themeing as it is the area's rich German heritage. Last time I saw it working, there was no "lack of interest" from the general public.
  7. As far as schools being in session - most schools in this area are out by the 2nd week of June. Other than that, there is no way to easily determine whether or not local schools are still in session at this point. There are far too many districts in the area, and on top of that you have private schools which usually operate on a different schedule than the public schools. Even then you might have some public schools that don't follow the same schedule as the rest of the district...
  8. Everything will be open to both of you, just as it is to the general public. However, your girlfriend will still need to go in through the employee entrance even though she's not working that day.
  9. Yes, it did... For some reason I originally thought it had two but changed my post shortly thereafter... http://rcdb.com/ig313.htm?picture=1
  10. Nice to see there are still a few Arrow shuttle coasters in operation.
  11. I voted for KI since that's the only CF park I've ever been to.
  12. And this is a Cliff Hanger (similar to Danny Phantom's Flyers):
  13. I hope they don't do away with seat assignment because it maximizes ride capacity. This keeps the big wigs at CF happy, and it also keeps the lines shorter. I wouldn't mind seeing SRLs at some of the more popular coasters as well to help increase capacity.
  14. A simple solution to the idiots who see the SRL as a shortcut to the main queue: This is made by the same company that makes all the railing systems used throughout the park. Yes, it will cost the park some $$$ to purchase the panels and install them, but it will make it much harder for folks to just duck under the railings. Sure, they can still sit on the fence and hop over, but that's more noticeable, and without a bottom rail to climb on, it will stop the younger patrons from doing so.
  15. That's actually just a reprint of an AP (Associated Press) article, but still a nice find. That Buccaneer Battle ride sounds like a lot of fun - especially the chance to get back at park guests for squirting you
  16. Can't say I didn't see it coming. Didn't they do the same thing last year?
  17. I'm only up to 24 now because I haven't had a chance to visit the park for ERT since RWCW - I'm always working all day on Fridays, usually working on Saturdays (though not until late afternoon, I don't want to hit the park with a time limit), and have church on Sundays so I can't get there til 1 or later. Now that the park's open during the week, I will likely be spending at least one day a week up there, which should increase my DBack ride count as well since it won't be as busy during the week.

  19. I'd like to see it changed back to Beastie regardless of what happens to the rest of kiddy land.
  20. Overall: Delirium. Classic: Monster.
  21. The problem wasn't that there was a group in the line, but rather that they weren't acting as single riders and instead were pairing up so they could ride together anyway.
  22. Google tells all Back in 2004, the world record for "Most Naked People On A Coaster" was broken when 32 people rode Nemesis in the buff, breaking the previous record of 28, which was set earlier in 2004 on the "sequel" Nemesis Inferno at Thorpe Park (also in England). Here's an article on the original record. Can't find any articles about the new record because a film crew apparently recorded the stunt as part of a 50th anniversary celebration for GWR... http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/england...ies/3734635.stm Apparently this park has also hosted a "naturist" weekend for the past three years (2006-2008) in which everyone who feels the need to run around without clothes on can enjoy the park... I'm glad nobody has attempted such a thing in the US (though I'm sure there are plenty of laws that would prevent such an event).

I do hope Firehawk moves faster in the future as I love that ride but don't enjoy waiting an hour for it. While I was in the station yesterday, I saw at least two times when one train came back and began unloading before the other train (which was fully loaded) even left the station.
  24. The only clothing-related offense I saw yesterday were women who felt the need to show off their bikini tops in the main park rather than wearing shirts like they're supposed to. Some of them looked like the bikinis were a size or two too small as well.
  25. Those cars are old Tram cars. There are still a couple of those parked back behind Son of Beast.
