  1. The bumper cars don't seem to close during storms either. When I was there on Sunday, Dodgems stayed open during heavy rain with some lightning and thunder, even though most other rides in the park were shut down.
  2. A few things I noticed this weekend: On Vortex, there is a small pedal on the back of each car (unload side) that allows the ride op to unlock all the restraints in that car. I'm assuming there's a similar feature on Adventure Express since there's a hole on the right side at the rear of each car and both rides were made by Arrow. The statues on the final hill on Adventure Express still need some work... The first one on the right side as you're going up the hill was squeaking, and the right arm of the second one on that side didn't work. It is impossible to unbuckle the shoulder harnesses on Firehawk when the train is in the reclining position (discovered this yesterday when we returned to the station) The International Street funnel cake stand is the place to go if you want food loaded with calories - they offer fried Oreos (Oreos dipped in funnel cake batter, fried and topped with powdered sugar) and The Beast funnel cake (funnel cake topped with strawberries, whipped cream, vanilla ice cream, chocolate syrup and powdered sugar). The fried Oreos are incredibly tasty The graffiti I saw at Flight of Fear several weeks ago has since been cleaned up
  3. Up to 38 now after adding 3 more yesterday. Hoping to hit 50 by the end of the month.
  4. I got 5 rides in yesterday, including one in the front row (got sent there as a single rider with a group of 3 people who requested that row).
  5. A ride op at Viking Fury yesterday called it "the best boat at Kings Island".
  6. That was actually me who caught that hat... That's the only time I've ever seen something fall/fly off a ride, though I did lose a hat on Delirium once (I don't know why I even wore it on the ride), and the first time I rode TR:TR I could hear change falling out of peoples' pockets when the ride went upside down.
  7. A couple of funny moments from yesterday: "... and enjoy the rest of your day here at Kings Island, where everything is made of wood! ... Except some stuff." - DB ride op (referring to White Water Canyon) "... and if you do choose to ride that ride, please remember that you WILL get wet, possibly even drenched. Although, you're probably already getting wet" - while riding the train during the first round of rain yesterday There were also some jokes about DB being wetter than usual when I was riding it right after it first started raining
  8. Since I happen to have an IMEEM account, I'll save everyone some time and just embed it here. Diamondback All-Clear horn - Diamondback
  9. I saw Up in "regular D" last night and loved it as well... And yes, you do have to wait a year for Toy Story 3, but you only have to wait 2 1/2 weeks for Ice Age 3
  10. Wikipedia has a lot of info about that ride... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dark_Knight_%...gland%29#Delays I love how whoever wrote that article said that it's been confirmed that the ride has been moved to and installed in Mexico, yet they give no source for that info.
  11. Diamondback is the only ride with a single rider line, and it can be anywhere from a walk-on to 15 minutes or more depending on numerous factors (number of people in the line, how many odd-numbered groups are riding DB, etc.)
  12. If you're actually interested in learning how to solve the Rubik's Cube, I highly recommend the book Mastering Rubik's Cube by Don Taylor. My dad has a copy of it, and it's quite useful. Although it's long since out of print, there are a couple dozen used copies floating around amazon.com (and one which is supposedly in new condition, but the idiot selling that somehow thinks they can get $79.39 for it...).
  13. The past couple of times I've been at the park, I've ridden DB once or twice in the afternoon and finished off the night with DB (though the first time it was because Beast wasn't open at 9:30 - after I realized how well you can see the fireworks from DB, I decided to make that the last ride of the night instead of The Beast)
  14. 2005: HB "West Pie" - Beastie, Skytours, umbrella ride (Go, Diego, Go!), kiddie cars (Nick Jr. Drivers) and kiddy whip (Swiper's Sweepers) Worked from the beginning of the season through late July before being fired (long story - don't ask)
  15. Further clarification on the Terpy joke... The line "See the tree how big it's grown" is from the song "Honey" by Bobby Goldsboro. If you've never heard it, you aren't missing anything...
  16. The S&S Screamin' Swing looks like a fun ride, but I can't picture something like that being put in Coney Mall.
  17. For me it's a tie between row 1 and row 16. I've only ridden row 1 once (night ERT during RWW), but have been assigned to row 16 two or three times... Row 1 is fun because you're the first over the hills (nothing like looking down that first hill with nothing in front of you), but Row 16 is also a blast because you can get soaked and you get pulled over the hills.
  18. As of this post, the poll has received 12 votes (including mine): 1 for Moderate Thrill Ride 1 for Thrill Ride 10 for Major Thrill Ride That should tell you right there
  19. I personally think FD's queue is longer than SOB's queue, but I could be wrong. If I remember correctly though, WWC holds the record for longest queue in the park.
  20. KICentral t-shirt Semi-bummy cargo shorts Sandals
  21. I usually just keep walking, completely ignoring them.
  22. For some reason, everytime I hear about the show, I'm reminded of the classic 1966 surf movie (The Endless Summer). Will have to check it out though
  23. On the subject of healthy food choices, I wouldn't mind seeing a Potbelly Sandwich Works at KI. Good sandwiches and reasonable prices.
  24. Yes, but would people actually be willing to pay such prices for it?
  25. Kiddie wood: Beastie Kiddie steel: Scooby Zoom Wood non-looping: Racer Steel non-looping: Top Gun Wood looping: SOB Steel looping: King Cobra or Vortex Suspended: Top Gun Inverted: Face/Off Launched looped: Outer Limits Flight of Fear Launched non-looped: IJST Stand up: King Cobra Water: WWC or KCKC And yes, I realize that several rides have since changed names, but I refuse to refer to them as something other than what they were called when I first rode them...
