  1. I believe he is talking about Halloween Horror nights. (30th year).
  2. I think how long cost cutting measures will occur might be longer than we think. This year Cedar Fair lost a lot of money and it doesn’t seem like the parks that are open right now are generating much revenue. It’s also too early to tell how next years going to be as well. like we both mentioned small parks could probably receive smaller cloned rides like sky rockets and free spins. the big parks (cp, Ki, cw, car) need something bigger. I don’t think a sky rocket 2 is going to cut it at wonderland. It’s definitely a marketable coaster but that park gets so busy sometimes. I’ve seen it busier than Cedar Point. A sky rocket 2 would be a nightmare. If I was Cedar Point I over the next couple years I would convert a woodan coaster To and rmc at Carowinds and wonderland and then I would add a large gci to Cedar Point. All investments that don’t cost that much but are large enough to draw attendance. I don’t think Ki will need anything big for awhile as Orion’s basically turning into a 2021 addition
  3. There going to have to save money some how. They probably also don’t want to cut too many projects as they’ll need the new rides to help rebound. If I was Cedar Fair I would cancel the big b&ms for the next couple years. Rides like s&s freespins and smaller wooden coasters for smaller parks like Dorney park and Valleyfair. (These types of projects were already planned before the pandemic). I think the big sacrifice is going to be on the big parks. If you can the 30 million in half each year off the cost of a new b&m and go with an rmc conversation or ground up. These rides are usually around 10 million. For parks that already have one like cp I’d build a new gg or gci. Cedar Fair loves building rides with b&m and I completely get that business model it’s successful for them I just think they are going to have cut costs somehow while still opening new rides. Clones are certainly possible.
  4. Looks good. If someone tries it please let us know how it is.
  5. For coaster enthusiasts yes. A lot of the general public don’t like i305.
  6. Pretty much impossible since they cut security’s budget a few years ago. Now one security guard makes up two whole areas of the park.
  7. I went to six flags st Louis this weekend. Heavy mask enforcement. If any person had it below there nose at all there was always a person right there to say something working. A person was waiting for the next train for mr freeze and over the mic “if you are currently waiting in line for me freeze and do not have your mask over your face and nose please do so now or you will be asked to leave the line.” I also heard “you must wear your mask throughout the duration of this ride and all at six flags. Taking off your mask during the ride will result in a one year ban from the park.” While I was riding screaming eagle someone pulled down there mask and while the train was pulling out of the station the ops stopped the ride. Point is if Kings Island wanted to enforce masks they could.
  8. What’s confusing to me is that b&m put vest restraints on Banshee. But also designed the ride so that riders won’t headbang. All the elements are drawn out and the opposite of snappy unlike the old b&ms. I think Banshee would have been better with the old restraints because of its hang-time on some of the elements. A ride like Raptor would benefit from the new restraints as the elements are really snappy.
  9. Are you gonna change your name to Oriondreams or is dback still number one?
  10. The ride attendant told me everything needed to be out of pockets in order for the lap at to properly secure you not because of a loose article policy. Not sure though.
  11. I thought they only made you get a locker for bags and backpacks. (Like Orion, Mystic Timbers and Banshee). But where steep vengeance is different is they make you put all the stuff in your pockets in the pouches on the train. This isn’t an extra charge but slows down operations significantly.
  12. I don’t think that has anything to do with rmc. Rather Cedar Fair.
  13. I have a love hate relationship with rmc. On one hand they produce crazy exhilarating rides that wow me every time I get off. But on the other hand they hurt my thighs like crazy to the point we’re I feel like I can’t ride in the back on some. And the capacity and reliability isn’t that good. Especially the Cedar Fair ones.
  14. Are these rides down due to maintenance or staffing?
  15. Some are saying the reaction is from a peanut allergy not a sickness. If that’s true and I was in there shoes I don’t think I would be blogging about it anyways with everything going on.
  16. If Orion can do every row but with alternate seating with two on the outside then two on the inside then why can't Diamondback do the same thing. The seats are already alternating, what is the difference?
  17. Daily Fast Lane is now available for purchase on the website.
  18. B&M refers to all their coasters with clamshell restraints as mega coasters.
  19. i could see some kind of filler attraction going there for a few years before a real one down the line. Something like monster trucks at CP.
  20. https://www.youtube.com/post/UgxYyWJoYrkuI7YO3st4AaABCQ Some allegations going on with the Themeparkworldwide YouTube page about some of its members.
  21. Oh no doubt. I rode Flight of Fear alone one time and it was borderline unrideable it jack hammered me around so bad. I felt bad for the ops who have to ride it alone every morning.
  22. Wow that’s interesting. I made my first ever trip to Dollywood last weekend and it really made me wonder if my expierence on the rides was accurate to normalcy being that my only expierence was on half or less capacity (I was the only one on mystery mine).
  23. That doesn’t mean the first half of the ride wouldn’t be faster.
  24. Not only do some people not like the more intense gigas but rides with such high forces make people want to leave the parks sooner even if they like the ride. The sooner they leave the less money they spend. Also how much does a half train affect the speed of the train? Someone who’s worked a b@m Would probably have a good answer as each different ride types all work differently. When I worked the ticket booth for extreme sky flier I used to watch Banshee all throughout the day and noticed a major difference in speed when a train would be full vs empty. I’m curious at how much a half train would be different than a full train.
  25. Taylor has some really good off ride videos. His vlog videos are really annoying imo however.
