The ride is operational with all three trains.
  2. I'm not sure if you're actually Mr. Helbig or someone who works for him. Regardless of who you are, I can't begin to tell you how impressed I (and hopefully others here) am that you take time out of what has to be intense pressure and craziness of this day to update us on what's going on at our beloved park. That's a classy act, and it didn't go unnoticed!
  3. ^ Lemme guess, you are the only one allowed to claim to have inside information.
  4. So, I went to Kings Island today. I got there at around 3:30 after school, and decided to go see Don at the fun perks booth. Had a little talk about Coasting For Kids, and it was nice to meet him. So, we went inside and I headed for Invertigo. There was a small line, starting about at the tunnel below the loop. The wait ended up being about 15 minutes. A fun ride, as always. Then, my mom and sister (who I came with) wanted to go to Backlot. On the way they saw Dogems, which they wanted to do, and it was a walk on. First time doing Dogems for me in awhile. Then we went to Backlot. The line was just across the bridge, so it was only 5 minutes. A nice ride, with theming working perfectly. Then they wanted to go on Racer, which was a walk on. I wanted to go in the shaky back, but I actually managed to raise my hands for about half of the drops. I then headed for Drop Tower. A 5 minute wait. Just nice to see a masdive wooden coaster that's not open and then be dropped 300 feet. I then took a apple funnel cake snack break. Then I walked to Flight of Fear, which I saw the line start just outside the entrance inside. Same movie and stuff, and I love the new red and green lights. They were doing good making no empty seats on Flight of Fear, because they called for a single rider, and I was just what they needed. It was a 15 minute wait, and it was just pure fun Flight of Fear. I then headed over to The Beast, which was a 5 minute wait. It was a bit smoother after being retracked, even in the back. I then took another look at the Crypt. Same as before, but now the photo booth that was blocking the entrance had been replaced by two trash and. There is plenty of room now for anyone to sneak through, and nothing blocks the entrance to the que, so I was tempted, even though I knew I couldn't enter the building. Then I walked around to Diamondback, and saw the notorious "This ride is temporarily closed" sign. Isae no line for Woodstock, and me my mom and sister thought why not. It was a walk on for the front row. Then we decided to ride again and walk onto the back row. We then headed back to Action Zone to ride Flight Deck. There was nobody in the station except for two people in the front row. I waited just 1 cycle for the front. It was now 7, and we decided to split up and meet at the entrance at 8 when the park closes. I decided to ride the Action Zone kings. I went into Delirium and walked on to it. Great ride. Then onto Drop Tower again. Walk on, good ride. Then onto Invertigo again. Walk on, good ride. There was about 20 minutes left, so I decides to repeat Drop Tower. Then, with 5 minutes left, I decided to get my last ride of the day on Invertigo. Overall, great day at the park, not very busy, and rode 15 rides in 4 hours. Thanks for the fun day, KI!
  5. 1 point
They drained it because it was a stagnant pool with no filtration or cycling system. The water just sat without moving day in and day out. It then became more of a swamp than a lake, drawing bugs and even worse, trash.
  6. Love Eastgate Adventures!
  7. Still riding it on RCT3 wooh great time on here!
  8. Round. Round. Round. Round. Stop. 11 year old next to you pukes. Restroom. Water. Push soap. Scrub. Air dryer. Rinse. Repeat.
  9. Mr. Helbig is a class act, that is for sure. I don't know how he does it, but he will help with a problem at ANY time.
  10. Actually, it's not. The Doswell one is taller.
  11. No one really wanted to be associated with it from the beginning so I agree with your point, no one would certainly want to now. Was it GCI who was working on the section that replaced the loop when an intern slipped out that news then he and his blog suddenly disappeared? Texas Giant at least had a history and good reputation.
  12. My wife refuses to ride it...I'll have to save that for a personal trip
  13. Don't trust hybrids. They ruined the 12 colonies of Kobol.
  14. A coaster whose authorized POVs look like they were filmed during a 7.4 aftershock certainly could use some creative re-tracking, for sure.
  15. This is a very un-Shaggy like post...not only am I not used to you "complaining", I REALLY am shocked that you started your own topic to do it! As for my thoughts...I am fine with the entrance as it is, I do like having something somewhat original left. (I still like the feel of walking out from the shade and into the bright morning sun when I arrive.) I do think it is way overdue to get a public elevator for the (former) International Restaurant though.
  16. Strike that. It's down again. We need a breaking news section for KIC!
  17. A must read. http://digitallife.t...eged-thief?lite Karma!
  18. It is kinda his job to be in and around the park.
  19. Due to their obession with themselves and the members tendency to all think like robots, I tend to take information on TPR about as valuable as info found on SS. ...except that there's a video of CW's version showing the new dampers. Video doesn't lie. The point here is that at the close of last season, only KI's and CP's versions did not have the new dampers. They had essentially SIX months to add them, and they instead waited until it was so late that the ride doesn't open until a month or more into the season. Last year they blamed the delays on the weather. Weather was not an issue this past offseason, so IMO there's really no excuse for this delay. They had all of November, December, and half of January to do the work at KI and CP before vertical construction began at KD and Carowinds, plus most of April after the new ones opened and construction people were no longer needed there. The fact that it didn't get done before the season started is inexcusable.
  20. AT&T service is poor in park - especially on busier days. As for the need for the phone, it's mostly about calling/texting the family to help with reconnecting after splitting up for different height requirement rides in my instance.
  21. No gold star for you. The park has TWO Skylines. (Some of us would prefer The Flavor of Cincinnati).
