Well, good morning everyone. I was just playing Majora's Mask on my N64 and came back to... this. What the hell guys? Go to your corners for a time out. I was gone for a few hours and look what happened. This was not what I expected after beating the Woodfall temple (again more Majoras Mask stuff). Did you all really think I was leaving the site for good? I will admit, what I said in my post before this I was 100% genuine, I was done. Was I done for good? No. I was just done for the night. Yes, Terps post about "uncle crying" put me on edge because UncleHenry happens to be a very good friend of mine who I have known since 2005 and was nice enough to allow me to stay at his place this past November while I was in LA and take me to all the local parks, he even took a day off work to allow time for that. He even showed me around the city and brought me to the famous Hollywood sign. So yeah, I was a little upset my Terps comment. Many times I am annoyed by some posts many of you make on this site, but lets be honest, who at one point or another isn't put on edge by someone else's post? We all need to realize that this community is made up of different people of different opinions and ages. Yeah, johnnyilikecoasters (made up user I came up with to make a point) may be a eccentric fanboy who dislikes anyone who talks badly about the park, and I'll be honest, someone like me will probably avoid talking with a user like that and dislike most of what you say. That's why I use the block feature (it's there people, use it! It will make your time on this forum oh so much nicer). Now, I really don't feel like going into a multi-paragraph speech about what we can all learn from what happened. Plus. I REALLY need to get back to collecting more masks in the game (again, Majora's Mask), the 72 hours is almost up and the moon is about to crash. While I save the land from certain destruction, why don't we take this time to start over. Hi, I'm Captain Nemo! You guys ever been to this park called Kings Island? It's pretty legit. Edit: Well, I forgot to pause my game and the moon crashed, Look what you did!

I was recently on I-75/I-71 northbound in KY just before the cut in the hill. There are the overhead signs that say steep grade ahead, with lights on left and right sides that alternate up and down...when I saw them it made me think of the ending on Adventure Express.

From a lurker standpoint, this has been thoroughly entertaining. Topics like this almost make me wish I hadn't stopped posting. Almost.

I blame Thunder Alley for all of the problems on here because it was so bad.

I don't get on here much anymore. but love seeing the old photos of the park. Brings back a lot of memories. Might have to get on here now to check out the new photos everyday.

I get to go through 4 different withdrawals. No roller coasters or drag racing and after having my left knee scoped in 2010 I was informed that skiing and bowling are a no no if I want to try to make it 10 years without a joint replacement. So that leaves me with updating the dragster and posting dumb stuff here and on my racing forums that seem clever and witty at the time I hit post.

I wouldn`t say that Boocifer`s castle needs a major update. I still sorely miss Phantom Theater. It was a really unique attraction, and the Sally Dark Rides installation can be found at so many parks now, that it isn`t unique. (And it can be frustrating when those darn guns can`t seem to hit the targets no matter how hard you try). Hopefully this renewed focus carries over to the seasonal parks as others have mentioned. Keep in mind that Knott`s is just down the road from Disneyland, so the typical Knott`s customer is accustomed to seeing Disney caliber theming, while the average Kings Island customer is not. Not to mention that Kings Island is only open seven months out of the year, there is less time to generate revenue when compared to Knott`s.

And I`d have to assume that Disney see the potential to more than earn back the initial upfront cost of the program. In order to facilitate this initiative, Disney has installed free WiFi at the Walt Disney World complex, a 40 square mile area. I have to admit that the idea of having a Disney character say your kids name and wish them Happy Birthday is beyond cool and will certainly sell the magic and create a memory to last a life time. And as the article points out, it will allow Disney to collect information about their guests and their patterns, which will be useful in so many ways. From future park attractions, to amending show times, to park operating hours, staffing, and so much more. It will be cool to see what comes out of this. My one fear is that in the future, when you plan a trip to Walt Disney World, you will schedule your entire park visit, before even stepping foot in the park. That takes some of the spontaneity out of a visit to an amusement park if the entire day is all mapped out before even walking into the place.

Well, there is a 100% cure, but...you're probably going to need a LOTTA money for this...buy plane tickets/lots of gas for car, and fly/drive to Flordia, California, etc. to one of the parks that still runs in winter, like Busch Gardens Tampa, Universal Orlando, Disney, Knott's Berry Farm, Six Flags Magic Mountain, etc etc...from what I've heard, they usually aren't crowded around this time of year. Right now, it's the only way to ride coasters in real-life for people living in the Indiana-Ohio-etc etc. region...or you could buy a uber-expensive motion chair and sync it up with No Limits or something...but that would cost even more, probably...but would be so cool... ' McSalsa, stating the obvious... Oh, as for myself, as I cannot afford this whatsoever...RCT and No Limits...

I hear Kings Island is getting a big 12 inversion roller coaster

^ Google says it updated 4 days ago. I just checked, and the "something big" banner wasn't in a previous version of the cached page from December 29. Other changes at the same time include putting Red Gold in the scrolling sponsors list, adding a link to the new "Sponsors" page that includes Coca-Cola, and (finally!) fixing the Accesso store so that it can run 100% over SSL encryption. My guess is that they merged changes from a master template into individual site templates, and they simply forgot to delete the unneeded countdown from the Kings Island Howl-O-Palooza template. They should fix it before someone uses it to start a rumor.

As a kid, I thought of these as a boring version of the bumper cars. I couldn't understand why anyone would ride this, seeing that it cost extra money and you couldn't even bump them into each other.

My four year old might have me topped as an addict.I just mention no KI pass when she acts up,and she turns into an angel quick! She also has her own KI song she sings every now and then when she wakes up.We just listen outside her door laughing,its so cute.

Love that picture, I miss that canopy, wish they would bring it back, and then some. I keep hearing rumors of a "new area" coming soon, would be a great way to tie the future with the past. $0.02

^ I would like to see this return at Kings Island, the plant covered walkways look great in amusement parks in my opinion. Six Flags St. Louis still had theirs last time I went there and it still looked really cool.

So what is this topic about?

Complaining about what others post doesn't get you very far in a public discussion forum. Everyone has the right to post what they want, as long as they're following basic guidelines dealing with respect. As the conventional wisdom goes, if you don't like what's being posted, no one is forcing you to read it. There has been, and there continues to be, a great deal of good discussion and quality content posted here. However, you're not going to like every post. Other contributors here may annoy you, disagree with you, or otherwise not meet your desired level of post quality. And you should still respect their right to participate in this public community. Granted, some of the bantering here could understandably be frustrating, especially for the occasional reader. Most of us are always open to constructive criticism, so please do voice your frustrations in a positive way. After all, we do want new (and existing!) members to feel welcome and enjoy their time here. Popping in to drop criticism into a random thread solves nothing. I'll repeat what Terp wisely said: if you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem. A cool head and a mild appreciation of dry humor can be helpful here. Wit and a bit of silliness, especially from Terp, is a deeply entrenched tradition. We're discussing an amusement park, after all. There are plenty of other places in life for seriousness and frustration.

Why do you want a new section of the park? X-Base, back by where Flight of Fear is could use some sprucing up and a flat ride or two and a set of restrooms. Have you ever hiked to the nearest restroom to Flight of Fear/Firehawk? Its quite the hike.

I said "Nevermore" somewhere around 2000-2001. I broke that vow in 2004 when I went with someone who had not been to CP since the '60s. I told him about my vow, but he convinced me to ride with him. We both got off with headaches, and I quickly reinstated the vow. I remember reading people's Facebook posts from opening day 2011, and how they said it was much better. As the year went on, people said it had gotten a little rougher then it was opening day, but still not as bad as it was before. Nevertheless, I have stuck with my vow and haven't ridden it since that day in 2004. You know that old saying, "Fool me once..." I'm fine without it, since there are plenty of other rides at CP to occupy my time.

Glad they came up with a good name. It would have been silly if they had called it a Slime Jeffery. Yes, I know what a Derrick is.

Unfortunatly the old man only made it about 6 times but still had fun thats what PKI is all about memories with your family that last a lifetime.
