  2. Banshee's Batwing from a different view..... "Riders will see nothing but sky as they climb the Batwing element on the new Banshee roller coaster. The world's longest inverted roller makes its much-anticipated debut in April at Kings Island." - Kings Island's Facebook page (Photo Courtesy of Kings Island)

  4. ^I'm the exact opposite. When I go on roadtrips/vacations, I avoid national chains whenever possible and insist on trying the local flavors. Why get the same stuff that I can get anytime at home?

  5. At my moms house they have this old building hoarded with random stuff. Well, they're cleaning it out today and so far they've found three Kings Island cups from what looks like the late 80's/early 90's (no year found anywhere on the bottle. And a light up headband from the same time era (that takes a 9V battery.) Edit: Since posting I've found another headband in better shape. I'll also post more if there's more found.

  6. But Rivertown is in the Midwest... both thematically and physically.

  7. Kings Island calls it a batwing. Therefore, a batwing it must be. Be that as it may, there is still an undoubtedly small, but clear difference between our "batwing" and other batwings. Which is why I call it a pretzel knot regardless of what the official status is by KI. The designer calls it a Batwing, therefore so does the park.

  18. With the temperature hovering in the single digits right now, with more wintry chill in the forecast, I've been enjoying looking at some of my warm weather KI pics. Some of my visits I can remember it being VERY hot, which is a nice thought right now (at least to me) with this frigid weather. I thought I'd start a thread where you can post a pic of a visit where you can remember it being during the dog days of summer. If you know the date of your visit, you can go to this link http://www.wunderground.com/history/airport/KHAO/2014/1/1/DailyHistory.html?req_city=NA&req_state=NA&req_statename=NA to find out what the temp was on that date! Here is mine: This is July 23, 2012. According to wunderground.com, it was 95 degrees that day! I bet Congo was a real popular ride that day.

We can hear that garbage on the car ride, what we really want is the themed music.Sent from my VS840 4G using Tapatalk I must agree. As I am also a teenager, I don't like waiting in line for Diamondback while listening to Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus.

  24. I'm fine with what Kings Island has. There could be a few more options, especially when it comes to a sit down restaurant with air conditioning whether it be a cafeteria, buffet, full service, etc. I enjoy Panda Express and LaRosa's. Honestly, I've never ate Subway at the park because I don't enjoy the prices nor the condensed menu. As for cafeterias....I'm not a huge fan of them in parks. For example, at Kennywood this past summer, I decided to get a salad and a cookie, I paid for it and sat down to eat. That wasn't enough to satisfy me. I then had to fight through about 30 people to get to the area where I wanted food from, then had to wait for someone to put the food on the plate and then had to wait to pay. I think cafeterias are more of a cluster than anything.

  26. Standing for two adrenaline-charged hours at the rope right behind the press pews, meeting enthusiasts and KICers, counting down to the exciting announcement of Banshee was truly memorable. Hearing the crowd's reaction when Greg let fly the introduction video, and the "columns bursting up from the ruins of SOB" was priceless! Oh, and watching riders of Delirium get an epic set of unique runs through stage fog and spotlights was pure Kings Island amazement (to borrow from CP's old jingle).

  27. For KI it was Banshee's announcement (despite my original Canon Powershot being stolen during the unveiling...still PO'ed but at least it wasn't the Rebel). Followed by KIC day (one with the Firehawk tour) Non KI special moments: 1.) Seeing the baby orca at SeaWorld (later named Makani). Last time I seen an orca calf that young was back in the 90s. 2.) my interactions with Bella and Lightning at the Mirage. Bella being attracted by the Banshee cup was really funny. 3.) Going to Knott's with my friends. Park was so much fun in 2013, look forward to the next time of going 4.) Halloween Haunt (Knott's and KI) 5.) Knott's Merry Farm. I can't stand Christmas but I still had fun going to the Merry Farm. The overall atmosphere of the park was sooooo cool. Browsing the shops, the stands, looking at all the decorations and seeing the shows. It was great ending the year riding Ghostrider, Silver Bullet and Jaguar for once. Here's to 2014!

  28. I was looking through some of my dad's old photo albums and came across a bunch of my sister and me at KI back in the 80s. I will have to scan them sometime and post them on here. I, too, enjoy seeing pictures of old/classic Kings Island!

  37. Hanging with chugh43 and another friend on OSU Day, being stopped by Matt Ouimet and him joking with us that we weren't allowed to sleep in the park (since he had seen us the day before) and impressing me that he actually stopped to talk with us and has a sense of humor (something we felt prior management wouldn't have done), the three of us waiting with Don in line for Iron Dragon and as a result trying to start a rumor about the land clearing that was being done in Action Zone, and chugh43 convincing me to give Mean Streak another try (I won't be making that mistake again). Too bad I couldn't stay with you for more fun on the next day too! I believe it was at Iron Dragon, that Mr. Helbig mentioned to me the Son of Bat and the camp ground returning as a joke! That was hilarious!!! P.S. Come on, Mean Streak wasn't THAT bad. Lol

  38. Feel free to use my thoughts! 1. I rode on the last train of the season on The Beast. 2. I attended the Banshee unveiling on August 8, 2013. 3. I got to ride Gatekeeper earlier this summer and it was amazing! 4. I got first in line for The Beast one morning. 5. Attending KIC 2K13 The Event and going on a Banshee and Diamondback tour 6. Probably the most memorable memory was uncovering the rumors of The Bat and Banshee! What a memorable year 2013 has been for us KIC'ers!

  44. I think local "chain" restaurant-only selections would be great but understand the dynamics. I like Chick-fil-A for the same reasons BB1 pointed out earlier. That said, Sunday is typically one of the most attended days of the week and it doesn't serve the park or guests well to have a location closed. The only other rub I really have, is take Panda Express OUT of the German-themed Festhaus. Why not contract HofbrÀuhaus to operate in the Festhaus. Now THAT would be festive!
