Whatever the name is, I am going to hear Pat Carroll's voice in my head delivering the safety rules. Could you just imagine? I would LOVE to hear her voice coming out of the speakers at Banshee!7 points

And here we are, about to conclude announcement day. It was a very fun day, and soon enough, the announcement came of the longest inverted roller coaster in the world, Banshee! Here is a video (which ended towards the end because I ran out of memory) of the announcement! And here is my trip report from that day! http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php/topic/27996-ki-8-8-13-announcent-day/ Just 20 days until Banshee Media Day and Scream for A Kid Again, and 21 more days until Opening Day 2014! Have a good weekend (or in my case, Spring Break) everybody!7 points

Banshee, flying through the first drop....... (Image captured from Kings Island's Banshee Construction Cam)6 points

why would the floor need to drop? Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S4 using Tapatalk The floor drops on other B&M inverted coasters to ensure sufficient clearance as the train moves. Banshee's trains are different, instead being based on the design of B&M's wing coaster trains. The seats are tilted, allowing guests to board without the floor rising. EDIT: basically what homestar92 and upstop said.6 points

I wouldn't wish that name on anyone, but I had an ex who had more riders than Banshee probably has...6 points

Kings Island on Facebook : "In this January 1979 photo, construction of the world's longest wooden roller coaster, "The Beast," was nearing completion. Celebrating its 35th anniversary this year, The Beast continues to rank among the top wooden roller coasters in the world in annual industry and enthusiast polls." ^I'd love for her to say anything. She could be reading me a speeding ticket, it'd be amazing5 points

I just realized something... guess I'm late to the party in observing this... but the station floor doesn't drop. It's a static, concrete loading station floor. Shaggy5 points

RIGHT! I love Pat Carroll. She has the perfect voice for a "Banshee" themed ride. I would wait in line just to hear the safety recordings. Edit: Do you remember this? Pat Carroll as a step sister in Rogers and Hammerstein's Cinderella. Carroll is in the blue.4 points

If they are going to name the ride name her Lora. It's a great name that I am quite fond of. Of course Katie works well, too. She'd think it was named after her. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk4 points

Kings Island (@KingsIslandPR) tweeted at 0:13 PM on Thu, Mar 27, 2014: Our guests won't recognize Action Zone when the park opens for the 2014 season on Friday, April 18. #KIOpeningDay (https://twitter.com/KingsIslandPR/status/449217690486308867)4 points

Here's another view of the announcement that I shot with my phone: I actually went out a few days earlier and bought a larger microSD card for my phone just to make sure that I would have room for the entire announcement.4 points

I don't think they are talking about the ride itself being named. My guess is they have a Banshee prop they are going to display and they want to give it a name.4 points

KI has stated that they could have continued running it backwards, but that they chose not to. Not many are qualified to comment on how that particular recommendation from PTC may have affected the park's obligations under Ohio law. I'm certainly not.4 points

I have a name that sounds really intense and powerful, deals with a female character too. But it is not very appropriate.. A little gruesome. I'll say Elizabeth.4 points

Any name will be fine with me. Except for Miley Cyrus. Banshee, who does not wanna come in like a wrecking ball. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk4 points

I don't know what's going on in that area, but that used to be the best part of the park to watch the fireworks from. Not much of a crowd, clear view of the fireworks, breezes coming of Delirum and Drop Zone, plus some ice cream to enjoy from the stand next door, all with pretty much no one else sitting at the 3 or 4 tables that were back in that area. I don't think that's going to be an isolated spot to sit and enjoy the fireworks from anymore.3 points

It looks to me and I could be wrong that they are making a new exit for Delirium.3 points

You apparently have not had a relative who can walk a little ways, but not very well or far. Who won't let you buy her a wheelchair until she was near death. Who was too proud to be seen being wheeled into or out of the park. I hope you never do. I did. I wish I still did. I wish my parents would consent to a little help. There's so much at the park that they would really enjoy, but always decline the invitation due to walking limitations, but the idea of a wheelchair is appalling to them, for no reason other than pride.3 points

^Why do you think that post means that we'll get backwards Racer again? Diamondbacker, just curious. (Here's the link to that post: https://www.facebook.com/visitkingsisland/posts/10152670321858368:0)2 points

They don't have one per-se- it's generally assumed to be most days in June, July and August. They have this day because they rented the park out for the event. As I understand though, so long as you buy a ticket and not interrupt activities with your own "agenda"- you're able to come. I've never been (i have a SP, so no reason to feel like I should pay for a ticket on any "special" event day: GLBT, P&G, GE, etc...). Jokingly, I "get" your comment though. I'm waiting for someone to sponsor the "White-Hetero-Male-age-18-to-49" Day! It will be flannel and jeans everywhere. Everyone else get's their day, right? They're was once a whole night for recent area High School Graduates, didn't work out well but it worked out in a way expected.2 points

I cannot wait to attend this again this year! I had a blast last year going for my first time. It was nice to be able to walk around the park with my girl without fear of being judged. I honestly could care less anyways what people think, but I will say that the atmosphere was totally different and far more relaxed, open and fun than any other time I have been at the park. Plus I absolutely loved the short lines and being able to grab two night rides on The Beast! I feel like this will be a great opportunity to grab a bunch of rides on Banshee too.2 points

Jason McClure, Matt Ouimet, and company take a spin on Banshee. Looks like they really enjoyed it! I wonder which brand new B&M they enjoy more, Gatekeeper or Banshee? Image can be found on Cedar Point General Manager, Jason McClure's Twitter page. EDIT: Is it me or does it look like they have AMPLE room between their legs and the restrains?2 points

Good question bud and Welcome to KIC if you have not been welcomed yet! This is a good question for the "Banshee Construction Thread". No need to create a new thread for it! Here is a link to it, go ahead and ask there! Thanks2 points

I once rode by a gay couple on Drop Tower. The rest of my friends were to scared so I went by myself(there was no line.) So I got seated next to a gay couple. They were super funny and amusing. I totally forgot I was riding by myself. That encourages me to go and visit Gay Pride Night to learn more about it. Maybe I'll even see them there! Hahaha2 points
