  5. Yes, Banshee may be among the best roller coasters on Earth. They sure have moved a lot of earth in the construction of Banshee. The whole earth rejoiced at the announcement of Banshee. Riders on Banshee will fall to earth at a whopping 68 miles per hour.

  8. Those fools know who they are too. As a KI employee, I respect Kings Island, Cedar Fair, Mr. Helbig, Mr. Scheid, and everything they have done. And I do wanna share things that I know and others don't, but I cannot do that. I love my job and I don't want to lose my job over posting a picture or video. If employees wanna act cowardly and do stuff like that, let 'em. They won't be happy when they get fired and possibly kicked out of Kings Island. Edit: Just do what the park says. It's really simple. 10. Just another notice as for some reason some people still ignored my post this morning.. For those taking illegal POVs or posting pictures inside the park against the parks permission, you are causing a nightmare for yourself. They will find you, and soon you will find yourself without a KI ID or uniform and kicked out of the park, possibly worse. For the one posting the POV, you actually possibly have caused a lawsuit for yourself violating ORC. I have seen this stuff happen myself first hand. Some fools wanted to leak Dinos Alive before the park announced it, some wanted to make a scene, guess what, the next week I never saw them again except through Facebook. This stuff does matter to the park, and it is very real. They're a large corporation, and they are keen on protecting their interests, and they are keen on what they want out there and what they don't. To see an employee hold a camera and sneak it out at the top of a hill and hide as soon as on the brake run, you know already you're in the wrong. Then on top of it, there are safety signs, there are ride instructions prior to boarding, and I know more than likely you were all briefed. Plus again, this is all in ORC. Mess with the park the wrong way, they will boot you out the gate, and guess what happens if any future employer contacts KI regarding your employment, you're not setting up a bright future for yourself. I understand the desire to show and leak stuff early to the coaster community, trust me I've been there. I knew about Dinos about mid June and they didn't announce till somewhere in August. Trust me did you not know how bad I wanted to spread that we were going to be losing PWX to get your last rides in and just to get that awesome info out there and be the one who did it. Oh you bet, however, I was not the parks PR dept, nor was I privileged to give that info to the public. Lastly I valued my job as a ride sup, and I valued my connection to the company. If you don't want to have a bright future with the company and have a great reference and possible future employment, and risk future employers finding out about your termination, so be it, keep on the weary path. Just understand you're causing this problem for yourself only, and here as well. Your actions violate your terms of employment, and this websites terms of service. From here on out, keep the media you do not have the privilege of sharing with the public off of KIC, of face the consequences, last warning kids.

  11. If an employee (or anyone) filmed on the ride, he/she would likely be criminally cited as well. It's a misdemeanor in Ohio for a rider to fail to abide by posted rules/instructions. Legal and safety issues aside, I certainly don't want to see any POV of Banshee before riding it.

  15. Absolutely, off ride is allowed and honestly I'd bet encouraged. The more stuff the park puts out at the two events and opening day, the larger the buzz. Just don't take videos & stuff on ride. It's a safety hazard It's against ORC It's against the parks rules It's downright stupid You put someone elses life in jeopardy. To put things into perspective. A camera on Corkscrew at CP, a small camera at speed and velocity basically turns into the size of about a cinder block with force behind it hitting you. Doesn't sound pretty does it? On Maverick's launch someone had their zippo in their hand in the launch tunnel, lost it at the end of the tunnel on the sharp bank left, took out someones eye a few rows back.. Be safe, take pics in the queues and around the ride area where allowed, get a locker or stow your valuables in secured pockets or leave them with a non rider, simple as that.

  16. Im an architectural designer and model builder....and have done all sorts of projects for clients that insist on absolute secrecy...some of the things I have worked on have been for theme parks.....and I have been offered rather large bribes from various "interested parties" in the past. Of course I was never even tempted........I mean it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure.....lets see...you wanna give me 10K for a copy or a peek of these plans that will cost me my job......at the time 70k a year.....and being blackballed from the industry and have lawsuits brought up against me? Take a hike buddy........I mean who would be that stupid? Then again im 50 years old and know better...but even if I were a junior/senior in h.s. I still wouldn't do it. But that's just me......

  18. I still can't believe The Beast is 35 years old! It is still one of my favorite roller coasters of all time! Gives one of the best/ most memorable rides, a coaster can give! Will their be special, anniversary T-shirts this year, for The Beast?

  20. And here is an aerial shot of Banshee taken from KingsIslandPR on Twitter on October 20th. https://twitter.com/KingsIslandPR/statuses/392005327178055680 We are so close! Just 4 DAYS until Banshee Media Day and Scream for A Kid Again and 5 DAYS until Opening Day 2014!

  21. Its only 30 mins again this year. I requested it be moved back to an hour like previous years (still an hour at CP) seeing as how 30 min's barely gets you enough time to get 1 maybe 2 rides in before the "herd" of public shows up. I also requested we get a few plat pass holder ride nights ala CP or passholder appreciation nights, they used to do this on a couple fridays in may from like 5-10pm but its been years. I guess its gonna take more than me requesting to get heard. I still think its sad that I feel like I get far more value for my plat pass @ CP verses my home park, KI.

  22. Just note for all employees at the park able to ride Banshee today for testing, I advise just to keep quiet for about five more days with your ride experience and if you take any media in the park. The park wishes to be the main source of information for the ride to the public for now. Last it isn't worth getting in hot water before you even encounter one guest

  24. To the one who has posted the youtube video and pictures inside the park, let it be known, I already know who you are. Your name, age, social media accounts, etc. and even have a picture of yourself. If I can find everything about you in about ten minutes, you don't think the parks PR/IT department can't..You were warned

  25. Who ever posted that video is losing their job if they get caught

  26. Well it looks like they couldn't even keep their employees from taking cameras on the coaster and making illegal POVs.

  27. Even when used as a verb?? hmmm.. Trademarks and servicemarks are typically not to be used as verbs. Doing so makes genericization of the mark more likely. Xerox used to fight this tooth and nail, as has Photoshop. Interestingly enough, if you ask Google to define the word "Google", it returns it as a definition for "google" (in fact, even their example sentence shows it as not being capitalized), but if you ask it to define "Xerox", it gives you a definition for "Xerox". It looks like Google is implying that it's okay to not capitalize it when using it as a verb...

  29. I had a mistake I made not to long ago on KIC, and 2 different KIC members helped address the issue. Why is this going on this thread exactly? Well because these two members are some that I might not see eye to eye with, or always agree on things with them (and vise versa), but they still went out of their way to help me, which they don't know anything more about me than i'm Sonofbeast2.0! What am I saying exactly? Well KIC is like a family! We have are up's and down's, but at the end of the day, all we like to do is help one another! I've seen other websites with discussion boards having many being put down and very little mod/admin control being put to use on their! Sometimes their the one's putting people down! Instead of that, I got two fairly nice, but firm, written messages in my inbox (one from each member) and they helped me out a great deal because of this! This right here is enough to love the site! One last final note, thank you again to those two members, for helping me out! And all of KIC for being supportive (in most cases) to one another!

  32. What video? Mind posting a link? We were asked not to post links on this forum to unofficial pictures or videos of Banshee testing since this is a public forum.
    5 points
  33. For those of you that are wondering..... After seeing a video of Banshee testing on Instagram, I believe that the Banshee "scream" effect has been incorporated into the lift-hill section of the ride. It looks as if she screams as the train crests the lift-hill. Again, I'm not positive but I thought I'd share this with those of you who were curious about the "scream" effect.

  34. You take a Sat. off from work so you can prepare for the coaster season. My (partial)checklist: 1. Burner flip phone that fits easily in my front pocket---For park emergency use only.---Keep the "good" phone in the car. 2. Book 2 nights at a nearby hotel. 3. Oil change in the car. 4. Clear safety glasses with a strap to keep them from flying off during a ride. 5. Pack for varying weather conditions. (it is mid April in the Midwest) 6. $.97 rain poncho's (fit nicely in back pocket) 7. A couple Ziplock baggies for your stuff that you don't want to get wet if weather hits or for water rides later in the season. 8. Clean out all the junk from wallet. Later, Mark

  37. ^^^^^ nice pic but.... If it is legit and not officially released by the park it should not be posted on here. If it is officially released by the park, the source needs to be cited. If it is an official park released image that has been altered in Photoshop or another photo editing program, that should be mentioned and the source of the original image cited... Just sayin'.... let's not forget the rules here when we are this close to media day. The Earth is the proper name of a planet, and thus should always be capitalized.

  40. Nope. Diamondback used to have a single rider line but it became Fast Lane. On very busy days some rides will sort you up based on your group size and try to pair up single riders Edit: beaten twice LOL The Earth is the proper name of a planet, and thus should always be capitalized.

  43. So the Huntington, WV newspaper today runs its annual the parks are opening article. This year, it includes the Kingdom: http://www.herald-dispatch.com/news/briefs/x571848411/Regional-amusement-parks-set-to-open-for-the-season-soon Unfortunately for Mr. Hart, the Kingdom it includes is at Myrtle Beach! Great PR job there yet again, Mr. Hart & Co. (Note that Ashland, KY is part of the Huntington-Ashland metro. Skipping the HD for press releases is a major, glaring error)

  44. What exactly is KI material, the parks are pretty similar for obvious reasons so identifying which is which is a little harder for me, KI/KD are second parks for me still, CP & GL are still my home parks.. But if there is footage, trust me it could be worse, you should look at and find their Thrills Connect videos..they use video and stuff of rides not even at the park, close to, etc.

  48. /\You forgot to add your stuff about the Earth. Anyway, I really do hope they do not go for the Maxair look, when it came to color schemes Delirium was truly one of the best. So far I do not like the orange and the checkers being gone, but as this is not the final product I can't say yet if I will truly not like it, looks like a giant miscolored match right now.
