  1. The Dayton Daily News has written an article about the history of the Enchanted Voyage building. Along with photos from the KIC archives. Enjoy! https://www.daytondailynews.com/lifestyles/from-the-enchanted-voyage-to-phantom-theater-and-boo-blaster-on-boo-hill-the-history-of-kings-islands-dark-rides/C533GATLB5FWVPHLFQSFCGPN44/
  2. My understanding is that Paramount asked both CCI and GCI to build Son of Beast, but both declined because of the scale of the project. CCI was busy building 7 or 8 coasters for 2000, and GCI had their hands full with Lightning Racer at Hersheypark. So Paramount was stuck with RCCA. KI has always been my home park and I was beyond excited for SOB. I gave it every chance and fanboy bias possible. Ironically, that same summer I rode another new for Y2K woodie that surprised me as being far more worthy of the name "Son of Beast": Legend at Holiday World. Terrain wood coaster, in the woods, first drop into a tunnel, midcourse tunnel, double helix. It resembled The Beast in many ways, but junior sized (by comparison), and much more feisty as a young "Son" might be.
  3. “Shrugs shoulders”
  4. I mean, there would need to be some reconfiguring of the parking lot done whether they're brought back or not. KI's parking lot needs a lot of work as it is beyond just repaving. The easiest solution would just be to have them go up and down the old Columbia Road between the main entrance and Soak City entrance. That would at least provide service to 2-3 stops along the southern part of the parking lot. Doing that much may only require the installation of the station platforms. Up until this year there were still a few Six Flags parks that still had trams, including Magic Mountain and Over Texas. Parking lot trams would be another good way to improve guest experience at the bigger parks (even if they only ran on weekends) for less money than a coaster or a few new flat rides. They could even be electric if some investments were made to cover part of the parking lot in solar panels (a project that could also be sponsored).
  5. Hey if M&Ms sponsorship keeps it running for a good many more years I'm all for it. I think it would look cool if the main ride was black and then there was a red, yellow, green, and blue pod on each arm
  6. It'd be nice if Kings Island could get a sponsor and bring back the trams. Maybe some day in the future.
  7. I actually wouldn't be mad at that, although I like Skittles more, hehe.
  8. Paint each one a different color and call it m&m's brought to you by m&m's
  9. Glad to see this. I like Looney Tunes, but the innocence of Peanuts has always been a nice fit with the kids' area. And honestly, anything to keep the legacy CF parks from having to appear any more like a Six Flags.
  10. I was just saying it as a dream scenario. Not that it would or could actually happen. Everyone takes this stuff so seriously Chill. Also Apex was running the park in 2018 and doing a horrible job at it so they definitely wouldn't have been interested in purchasing Firehawk.
  11. SOB in the front row with the 2008/2009 non looping trains was pretty good and smooth... but any other row you felt the jolt of the rosebowl hard. I agree with you on how impressive the structure was. I was able to explore some parts of it over the years.... maybe those pictures will be posted one day...
  12. In other news, now that this is signed, Phantom is getting rethemed to Peanuts like in the survey now
