  1. Short video teasing the “new” facade has found its way to Instagram. Check it out! The disembodied flashlight hands are… a choice. But I’m impressed with the amount of work that went into this. Still think it looks like a castle, though. Looks good!

  2. I know I'm probably in the minority, but I would love to see the Phineas and Ferb theme song (aka Today is Gonna Be A Great Day by Bowling For Soup) return to playing at rope drop again. Imo that song really help set the mood for the day! I also would like to see a new version of the national anthem play as well before rope drop. I was thinking the Tabernacle Choir version like what CP plays at before they open. I believe KI used to play that version in the early CF days in the late 2000s, but then moved to the marching band version that's still played today. Imo the Tabernacle Choir version sounds more grand to me.

  3. I don’t like the eyes or the notes, the rest of the facade looks solid though. I’m not sure if it’s the finished landscaping or just a result of construction, but I love how deserted it looks. I actually really like the flashlights pointing at the sign, I think it’s clever. I’m curious what logo they’ll use.

  4. The exit ramp is already ADA access. There would need to be a ramp from the lobby to the load area as that's up a set of stairs from the lobby queue.

  5. I have never been someone who believes SOB will be resurrected, but lately I have been dreaming about what that could look like so I came up with this overhead sketch of an RMC. Just to clarify how this would work, the drop out of the station and the entrance into the brake run would thread right through Banshee. The drop out of the station would dive under Banshee's upward turn into the inline twist and the finale into the brake run would go right over the exit out of the second vertical loop and right through the supports underneath the inline twist. I included some elements from the original SOB like the predrop, the double helix, and vertical loop, but added some new elements and a new twist on things. For example, the first turn is an outerbank turn like Steel Vengeance has and at the top of the double helix features a giant cutback element. The coaster then extends more towards the boneyard area and the finale would hug that downward slope going towards Banshee and the station.

  7. So I'm digging the color scheme. I am still on the band wagon of they should have gotten rid of the castle and made a custom facade for the building but hey I get it sometimes you just repurpose what you already have. For reusing the castle it looks pretty darn good. Love the new colors and the treble clefs on the towers are spot on. I do think the wooden slats with the eyes cheapens the look (has really bad boo blasters vibes for me). Overall looks decent and I hope at a minimum they got rid of that stupid mouth with the teeth you walk into...like replace it with theater doors at least please. What kinds of theater haunted or not has a giant mouth with teeth as the entrance?

  8. I don’t mind the look of the refurbishment, even though it still has a castle look. One thing I did notice is at the very end of the video, you can see a No Legs Larry Tragedy “mask” (Below).

  14. Not a wise move to tamper with longstanding relationships with ACE and JDRF.

  15. Dollywood changes up the menu items and entertainment for its festivals so there are new things to experience. The name of the events are the same, but it’s not the same old every year. EPCOT has new menu offerings, entertainment and topiaries every year during its Flower & Garden Festival, so it too doesn’t feel it’s a rinse and repeat event. Busch Gardens VA makes changes to its menu and other offerings for its annual Food & Wine Festival. It gets more immersive every year. I thought Kings Island made an effort to improve Food & Wine last year. It was still very small scale in comparison to Busch Gardens but a step in the right direction. Grand Carnivale the past couple years just feels like it’s rolled out to fill dates on the events calendar. It’s still a nice event but not what it could and should be.

  16. If they’re all still intact, I’d assume (hope) they’d use them.
