  1. @chugh43 I appreciate your comment. That's the only downside to text or voice/being in person. We cannot convey attitude or such. That is fair. I have actually been asked quite a few times for some pictures above specifically of I-Street. When we went up, we didn't know about the renovations yet. But now that people know, they have been asking to see. But, I have declined for that exact reason. Let the park show it. Honestly. I'm welcoming that nice surprise walking into the park for the first time of the season in April.
  2. Again, the photos that I posted from the plane were not a "break the news", or to "know before anyone else does", as there were obviously pictures taken from the ground before hand. Why is it insane to want to fly around the park? Its public airspace. It is no different than you wanting to fly around the Grand Canyon or The Badlands. People like to sightsee. You can't say that you don't like too either. Now, what is the difference between peeking through a construction fence to get pictures, versus being in a plane? Because I am sure you have looked through the fence into the KMAA site during Haunt/Winterfest. I do agree. Trespassing is NEVER ok. And those who do it should be held fully accountable, by whatever means it takes. Now, tell me what exactly what was leaked that you are having a fit about? Going back to what I have said. Drones are a big no. The park does have specific rules about them. But seems like some people have an issue with aircraft as well. I haven't heard the park complain once about any of the pictures I had. So, they must not have an issue with them. I'm sure @IndyGuy4KI can vouch for me on that.
  3. @Outdoor Man Maybe just to get flight time to keep certifications and license requirements. "And while we are up, mise well run down that direction, since it's not far away."
  4. I don't have a problem with respecting privacy. But when you have stuff that is outdoor, you don't really have a leg to stand on. That's one reason we never flew directly over the park. And by that time, the photos of Firehawk were already out there that showed it was being scrapped. Now, drones are a different breed. I completely understand why they won't let you fly one over the park.
  5. From what has been leaked, I highly, highly doubt we will see it.
  6. I don't recommend flying directly over the park either. But what harm is flying a 1/4 mile away, and snapping a few pictures? Just saying.
  7. That is correct. Again, FAA has no airspace restrictions above KI for manned aircraft. Just your normal 500ft uncongested and 1,000ft congested rules.
  8. Daytime picture. Also saw two pieces for Yukon Striker are getting ready to leave the plant. Definitely looks to be the remainder of the loop.
  9. Hey look, the McDonalds Coaster! It's just surface rust on the exterior that makes them appear yellow.
  10. It's not yellow. It's the way the track looks before it is primed and painted/whatever they do.
  11. I can confirm. There is ALOT of new track there, outside, on the East side (Williamsburg side) of the facility. But, I assume it will be going somewhere else. Unless it is such a massive amount of track, that they need to start building it now. On edit: Here is the track. Luckily, there was no traffic. So I could safely stop and take this. I was on a public road (Old Route 32).
  12. I don't agree with that. They knew they didnt want to run it anymore, therefore, could have torn it down sooner, but didnt. Ironic it came down (almost) right before Banshee. @SonofBaconator Yep. Seen that quite a few times.
  13. @upstop It's like I have asked before. SoB wasn't removed for several seasons. So, why is Firehawk coming down so much quicker? You woulda thought they would knock SoB down quicker, with all the negative publicity. Yet, Firehawk was still loved by a larger majority. It's almost gotta be something huge and soon.
  14. @gforce1994 @IndyGuy4KI I overheard a gold tag stating that was because the increased wind gusts.
  15. Correct. During the off-season (non-congested), as long as you are 500 feet above the ground, you are good. During the on-season (congested time), 1,000 feet. The reason we didn't fly directly over the park was just to respect them. Plus, don't want to have something bad happen, and ruin it for yourself or others.
  16. And adding to what @silver2005 said, be very careful if taking pictures while driving by. Pictures of track are not worth your life or other lives around you.
  17. IIRC, there were a couple pieces sitting on the east end of the facility outside. They haven't been painted or primed yet.
  18. If the weather cooperates, I may convince @OldieButGoodie to go back up soon. Doubt it though. Weather has been horrible.
