  1. I did have a membership sometime around 2012-13 I think. IIRC it sort of locked you into whatever the price was when you purchased it. At the time it was a couple of dollars more than the lowest SP price. Of course one could always let it drop at 12 months and then reenrole and not really renew. That is kind of what I did this year. I purchased new passes and did not “renew” my SP. There tends not to be a renew discount like CF has. A
  2. Never been bored on a coaster before. Even Vortex.
  3. The way I figure it if they are different manuafacturers they will put extra care into it to make sure they go really fast. What company wants a 20-30 year legacy showing side by side the competitor is better?
  4. I was wondering why you paid so much for your pass over Labor Day when that is traditionally the loswest price of the season. Then realized you probably only bought one and you need 4 or more for the big discount. So who is pumped for that 10 minute early entry?
  5. Getting your photos updated can be done anytime season pass processing is open. Doubt it is open in offseason but never tried. Old passes will work fine, but not a bad idea to have kids photos updated for lost child issues. Regarding new pieces of plastic, that might be a bit hit or miss. I have received new ones without paying under these two circumstances. 1st, my old one had a bar code but the FunPix the photographers at the front gate use a QR code now so they upgraded my pass. This was after I had scanned in all my passes to the KI and CP apps and I never did rescan the new one. So one day when we went to CP and I forgot our passes but no problem I have them scanned into the app. Problem, the numbers had changed so I couldn’t get in. Season Pass processing figured out what had happened and just issued me new passes, no charge. YMMV.
  6. You bet. Start with tearing out Racer. Then add Racing Giga Dive coasters. One Mack and the other B&M.
  7. Was there already a discussion about why the permits were denied that I missed?
  8. I sense the beginnings of a ridiculous @malem multi-vehicle road trip plan to haul it back.
  9. I am on the fence about it as well. However the benefit of not having to process each year is significant especially if one lives some distance from the park. The weather went to hell while we were in STL at Christmas so one windy 11F evening my Dad and spent an hour and drove out to scan our finger turn right around and hustle back to the car. All basically for the benefit of free parking across all parks. My wife and kids passes do not have that benefit becuase they didn’t come, not that it matters in my circumstance but for some it could. If we get pass again next year, and we likely will given the low cost, I will probably switch to the membership for convenience. There are years we haven’t been able to make it home due to weather or illness and then you can get cornered into the higher late spring/ summer rates. Not to worried about being able to make the $20 payment each month. When comes to CF parks I actually would really prefer a 12 month membership option for budgeting purposes considering fully outfitting a family of 4 with meal/drink plans and fun pix starts pushing $1400. But I can manage in the 9 or 6 month plan as well.
  10. So your Dad was a greedy land developer?
  11. ^ Great idea. In addition they could make it an arcade for in between shows. Maybe add a bunch of these.
  12. The lines are long unless the weather is bad. Just try and avoid Columbus Day weekend. It’s insane. If you can swing it budget for a FastLane+ Pass and/or FrightLane Pass.
  13. I believe you have KIC confused the that other site.
  14. I am sure this will sound strange to all the long time park fans that remember it as a ride but I can’t say I really notice the box that much when I pass through the area. I know it’s there and big and you can’t miss it but my attention is drawn to other things as I don’t really have a connection to it. At SFSTL one of the old Skyride stations is now an arcade but you wouldn’t know it if you don’t remember the Skyride. But I notice it everytime I pass by and get that little gut wrench in my stomach.
  15. A common complaint of course is the lack of “healthy” options. The problem is there are few universally healthy foods as we all have different dietary needs. Someone with insulin resistance has different needs that someone dealing with high cholesterol and if you are trying to restrict calories on top of that it gets even more divergent. Something along the lines of Midway Market at CP at least allows our family to all eat at same place but is just to expensive for routine use. ($8 a head even with the All Season Meal Plan is just to much) For the kids I really wish there was some variety in pizza choices. Pizza tastes vary greatly and that is a good thing so I try not to pan LaRosas to much but it certainly has a unique flavor and my kids won’t touch it. Something with a little more traditional flavor along the lines of the new Wagon Wheel Pizza at CP would be welcome. In all cases quality is king. I am seriously considering skipping the meal plans this year and paying for prefered parking to make eating out of the cooler a bit more enjoyable. I think that will work fine for KI but given the layout of CP not so convenient there.
  16. Including doing absolutely nothing with it and not having to staff the area.
  17. This is one of those threads I don’t view frequently unless I am in the mood for it so I can’t say I know everything that goes on here. However, I have not seen any of the aggressiveness which you speak of. Could you please provide some examples? The mods here are top notch and are very quick to tamp things down when they get out of hand (even me occasionally ). The complete tone I perceived from your previous post was “all you people that disagree with my way of thinking are idiots” Even if things do get a bit passionate and heated, come on, this is a speculation thread and not much should be taken to seriously or to literally.
  18. We need a submission for the most ridiculous @malem road trip.
  19. Perception is reality and it certainly seems the public likes big and tall and CF has done very well with this method. SIX does well with Larson Loopers as does Disney with dancing mice. I have no clue if KI wants, needs or will ever get a Giga, but if they do it isn’t going to hurt attendance or impact my decision on which park to go to on any random day. Weather and where we went last has the most impact. One thing is for certain, it isn’t the mayflies and muffleheads that keep bringing the crowds back to CP. Who cares if one is an industry fan, a simple coaster enthusiast or an American Dumpster Enthusiast? If you aren’t happy with the crowd here move along, I am sure you can find a happy place on the internet.
  20. Calm down, have some fun and join the party.
