  1. Fastest webcam software update I have ever seen.
  2. Eh, IIRC the system oversold the 1st train on Steel Vengeance. The park notified everyone about it and everyone was cool about it. It is a charity event. Did you read my post about it when it was first announced? Things go wrong. edit: I will leave this link here to my post about expectations for the event if anyone wants to look it over.
  3. Observers? We need The Enforcer. “Do you feel lucky not wearing that mask? Huh, punk?”
  4. oooooooo.... ambassador’s....sounds important. Is this chainwide or just KC thing?
  5. So @spooky21, how do you think Walter would handle a belligerent that didn’t want to follow his instructions?
  6. I again come back that you can over do it on any platform. If I some business starts sending me an email every day I just might unsubscribe. Same with Twitter. If I am bombarded with too many tweets from kingsislandPR I will get annoyed and unfollow. You can’t necessarily advertise yourself into success.
  7. Do people buy season passes because of just one ride? Maybe they do, wouldn't be enough for me.
  8. And all of this nonsense is why we can't have nice things. There is such a thing as over marketing something and I think Don and the rest of the marketing department has a handle on what they need to do for the desired results. KI wants to bring people to the park and be excited for the whole experience not just Orion. Does having 4+ hour waits benefit them anymore than having 2+ hour waits? Look up the law of diminishing returns.
  9. I wouldn’t count on it. All depends on the procedures they adopt. Less/no ride op contact? Could go both ways. If there is no stapling some guests will struggle to get the restraints to clear. If there are less rides, shows and other things to do that could cause an offset to that offset. This is all new.
  10. Why would it mean that? They were both originally on the same day. Media in the morning, first rider in the afternoon. Not that it will necessarily be the same this time around.
  11. I think every other row is a given for the time being as they even showed that in the video. So without some virtual queue system that line may extend to The Beach.
  12. The CP site says Obviously they don't really mean that as you need to drink and eat, but the policies and degree of enforcement could vary by park as usual.
  13. I don't see why the neck gaiter style would be a problem with the park. I only see a personal issue with them as some people like me perspire above average and wet cloth can be harder to breath through than dry. Though we are talking about degrees of wetness here as one's exhaust is naturally moistened.
  14. That is true. So if you are tested on Monday and the test is negative you do not have the virus, however that does not mean you do not have the virus on Tuesday or at any point after that test. A test tells us about the past, not the future. Testing is a key component, and but unfortunately is not widely available in all parts of the US. It is still common practice in many areas to only give tests if you are showing symptoms. Hey, @flightoffear1996 how long did it take for you to receive your test results?
  15. What they are talking about is nuanced. Asymptomatic are people that have the virus but show no symptoms and do not develop symptoms in the future. The other “healthy” group are presymptomatic, those that have the virus, show no symptoms but then later do develop symptoms. That group does shed the virus efficiently and can be highly contagious in the presymptomatic stage. The problem is they are indistinguishable. This is more about looking back at the data and not a prescription about what to do going forward. Regardless of your view on face masks or temperature checks, presymptomatic and symptomatic individuals are the ones to be concerned about. Temperature checks may screen out symptomatic (if they have a fever and not all do at all times) but will do nothing to screen out presymptomatics that are shedding the virus. Thus the the need for social distancing and face coverings for those individuals. The only way to identify them is testing and that isn’t perfect either. (yet) The good news is the WHO believes there are less people that can spread than we may have previously thought. The bad news is it doesn’t really change anything, especially from the perspective mitigating risk to others, which is the park’s primary concern. Edit: Another thing that needs clarification is this statement "Either way, Van Kerkhove seemed confident that by strictly isolating the people who are feeling sick, the world would do much better at stopping the spread of COVID-19." Yes this is very important and it is important to understand what she means by strictly isolating. That means Total Isolation, not sending people home to their family even if they are mildly sick so they can pass it on to family members that can then become presymptomatic and continue the spread. This is something we do not do as a widespread practice in the United States. Singapore specifically has isolation centers for those that are sick but do not require hospitalization. This is how they avoided problems and were able to stay open for so long, along with robust contact tracing. However they did not initially apply the same practices to the large migrant population they have in barrack centers that do much of the manual labor and also interact with the general population, so naturally things went south.
  16. Expect zero problems and flawless performance with the new geolocation crowd control measures. “Hey Steve check this out, 700 of our guests just showed up at the Kings High School and appear to be riding Diamondback, go check the webcams”.
  17. Could be, not my opinion but another theory is DeWine wanted them to sue so if this all goes south the blame can be shifted to them.
  18. Snoopy doesn’t talk, his usefulness is very limited. So this guy seems to be onto something but I think his engineering still needs a little work.
  19. I could certainly see them tossing you into the same reservation system as everyone else and limiting the number of free visits but making you buy tickets is over the line.
  20. If you are really interested in digging deeper I would send Susan Glassner an email and ask her the latest and if she has a link for you. You would be surprised how responsive journalists can be to their readers these days. I have received quick responses from even more national level journalists from large media organizations and even had some extensive conversations online with some.
  21. I have not looked for it directly but the pdf linked in that article shows Case No. 20-CV-93363. That may help.
  22. Keep in mind there are two similar suits. The KI one in Warren County and the CP/Kalahari one filed in Erie County. https://www.cleveland.com/metro/2020/06/kings-island-kalahari-sue-state-to-reopen-parks-cedar-point-expected-to-join-case-today.html
  23. Was just thinking face masks would be a good product for them to sell at the airbrush kiosks and they could make custom ones. $$$ I also found one @spooky21 might like
